Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1386: Public Apology Announcement
Chapter 1386: Chapter 1386: Public Apology Announcement
"Sophie Wilson, this is what you came here to make a scene about?" Henry Chapman’s mind was working at lightning speed at this moment; he clearly picked apart Sophie Wilson’s intention. "You’re just here to sling mud at us. You’re this despicable and shameless—you really are cut from the same cloth as Charles Seymour!"
To Henry Chapman’s accusation, Sophie Wilson only gave a small laugh, didn’t argue a word, and turned to leave.
"Sophie Wilson, stop right there!" Henry called after her angrily. "You’re going to explain everything to me clearly."
"Yes, yes, yes... you never thought about sending your grandpa out to deal with him. It was your grandpa himself who just had to run over to that grandson he’d ignored for years and bully him. But your grandpa really is shameless enough—when his grandson was all alone and helpless back then, he didn’t know how to take care of him. Now that it’s for the Chapman Family’s business, he suddenly knows how to run over, curse people out, and take advantage while he’s at it. The Chapman Family really is..."
Sophie didn’t finish the last part. She only clicked her tongue a few times in mock lament.
"Shut up!" Henry shouted furiously. "My grandpa is not that kind of person."
"Mm, your grandpa is definitely not that kind of person." Sophie followed along with Henry’s words in an unhurried, pleasant tone.
"Sophie Wilson, you’re talking complete nonsense!" Henry pressed the advantage, finally managing to overpower Sophie in sheer momentum.
"That’s right, I am talking nonsense." Sophie said with a squinty-eyed smile. "I’m totally framing your grandpa. Is that good enough?"
"If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving." Sophie finished, turned again to go, but Henry immediately stopped her. "You stay right there. You’re going to explain everything clearly. You’re not leaving until you do!"
"Mr. Chapman, you really are strange." Sophie helplessly stopped again. "I’ve said everything I needed to say, and I’ve even admitted I’m talking nonsense, and you still won’t let me go. What exactly do you want?"
"Sophie Wilson, you think just because you said it, they’re going to believe it?" Henry finally figured it out. That so‑called "going along with him" just now was nothing but a trap.
Once the seed of doubt is planted, trying to overturn what people think of their Chapman hospital is incredibly difficult.
At this point, no matter what Sophie said, it was useless.
"Then what should we do?" Sophie spread her hands in mock helplessness, let out a light sigh, then smiled and suggested, "How about we just make everything from back then public?"
"For example, why was it that even though your grandpa knew perfectly well back then that Ethan Seymour was a bastard, he still insisted on letting his own daughter marry Ethan Seymour? And then, after Ethan took a mistress outside and had a son, why didn’t his daughter divorce him and instead just let it slide?"
"Or even better, in the end when his own daughter couldn’t take the blow anymore, had a mental breakdown, and all the things she did tormenting her own son—why don’t we tell everyone about that too? Oh, right, Old Mr. Chapman’s grandson, who is also my Mr. Seymour, even has a diagnosis from the hospital from back then... a diagnosis of being abused by his biological mother."
"Most importantly of all, there’s the fact that you’re now happily working hand in glove with that mistress’s son, launching health supplements and making a huge profit—why don’t you share that with everyone as well?"
Henry only felt a breath clogging in his chest, neither coming out nor going down, just stuck there. No matter how wide he opened his mouth, he couldn’t get a single word out. Not only that, but his vision kept going dark in waves, as if he might faint at any moment.
"I also hope you can dig up everything that happened back then. If I really have wronged you, I can issue a public apology in the papers." Sophie looked straight at Henry with genuine seriousness as she spoke.
