Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1361: Watching a Joke
Chapter 1361: Chapter 1361: Watching a Joke
Henry Chapman sat in the audience, watching Sophie Wilson walk onto the stage with keen interest, his eyes full of sardonic amusement—he wanted to see what Sophie would say.
Sophie stood on the stage, her gaze sweeping over the audience. Ah, not bad, apart from people from her own hospital, the others were all waiting to see her make a fool of herself.
Facing the gaze that assessed her as if she were merchandise, Sophie was completely at ease, even a bit nonchalant, as she smiled slightly and said, "As everyone knows, I did not study medicine, so standing here, I can’t present any case that might interest you."
Sophie’s words made the sarcasm in the audience’s eyes even clearer. If she could present any case, that would truly be unbelievable.
"Our hospital’s doctors certainly have interesting cases in hand, but I’m afraid some boring people would say that the cases our doctors use didn’t happen at our hospital," Sophie said, and that made several people in the audience change their expressions.
It was clear that this was what those people intended to do, but they didn’t expect Sophie to call it out beforehand.
"Alright, let’s get back on track," Sophie said with a cheerful smile, "Everyone knows that our hospital is private, so the benefits and treatment are naturally very good, apart from higher commission rates than public hospitals, the hospital provides rest rooms, entertainment rooms..."
"Sophie Wilson, this is a medical seminar. What does what you’re saying have to do with medicine?" Henry Chapman interrupted her with sarcasm, "Are you trying to recruit people here?"
When Henry mentioned recruiting, some of the hospital directors in attendance, whose doctors Sophie had poached, didn’t look too pleased.
"A hospital is only called a hospital when it has doctors, and good doctors are fundamental to a hospital. Without good doctors, at best, it’s just a pharmacy," Sophie said with a smile, unfazed by Henry’s sarcasm, "What’s wrong with introducing our hospital’s benefits?"
"Allowing doctors to treat patients in a better environment is what’s important for a hospital to consider. If a hospital can’t even guarantee the basic working environment, how can it ask doctors to focus on treating patients without distractions?"
Sophie’s rebuttal made several doctors in the audience nod discretely, acknowledging she had truly valid points.
Doctor’s workload is heavy enough; if trivial matters distract them further, it would really drain their energy.
Upon hearing Sophie speak, though they won’t admit it, a small thought crept into their minds: Maybe, Sophie’s hospital is indeed quite good.
Good treatment, good benefits, good environment...
As a doctor, Henry Chapman certainly understood how tempting Sophie’s words were, and hurried to retort with a cold sneer: "So you’re actually here to promote your hospital. But unfortunately, a hospital isn’t judged merely by its environment. If that were the case, wouldn’t all the experts rush to some random businessman’s hospital?"
Henry’s words sobered up most of the doctors who had just entertained the fleeting thought, as they knew they couldn’t just focus on immediate benefits.
"Mr. Chapman, it’s my time now, and no one interrupted you during your time, right?" Sophie said with a sweet smile, eyeing Henry with a flash of cold mockery in her eyes, "Basic etiquette, that’s just something people should have, right?"
