Chapter 1330: Chapter 1330: Courting Death

The little one blinked, not really able to grasp everything Sophie Wilson meant.

But he did understand that his mom was in a bad mood and feeling sad.

The chubby little guy called out in worry, his pudgy hand gripping Sophie Wilson’s finger tightly: "Mom?"

"It’s okay, buddy." Sophie picked him up and said with a smile, "Mom will work hard to train them, help them improve as much as possible."

Only when their skills improve can their casualty rate go down.

"Mm." The little guy listened in a daze, but he still nodded hard.

Whatever Mom said was right.

"Alright, how about we sort out your things now? You and Mom will pack together!" Sophie swept away her gloomy mood and said to him with a smile.

As long as she did her best, she’d have a clear conscience!

"Okay!" The little one answered happily.

Mother and son started packing in the dorm. As for the people training outside and whatever kind of pep talk Frederick Cole was giving them, that was not something Sophie needed to think about.

They had just arrived here two days ago—this was rest time; formal training would start tomorrow.

Still, they were all a bit curious.

"Kellan, do you think what Chairman Cole said is true?" David Warren asked Kellan Blake curiously. "He’s really having some woman teach us? That’s way too unreliable, isn’t it?"

"Once you’re here, you follow orders." Kellan said in a low voice. "That’s the basic rule."

"Of course I know we have to obey. It’s just..." David was quite a bit younger than Kellan, just in his early twenties, but he was very capable. These past two days, going one-on-one with the others, his fighting skills could be called one of the very best among them.

"What if that woman can’t cut it? Wouldn’t that hold us back?"

"You think several training camps at once would bring in some unreliable person to train us?" Kellan gave David a speechless look.

"Yeah, saying it like that makes sense, but... hey, I’ll be straight with you. Some of us don’t accept her. We’re planning to give her a real wake-up call tomorrow." David bumped Kellan’s shoulder in a brotherly way. "You in or not? Together."

This kind of situation happens all the time in training camps. A coach suddenly drops in out of nowhere—no way they win everyone over immediately.

If you can’t put your own people in their place, then get ready to be put in your place.

Besides, if the coach isn’t as good as the team members, that’s embarrassing to talk about.

You could say it’s basically the traditional routine whenever someone parachutes in.

"I’d advise you not to try." Kellan kindly reminded him. He didn’t doubt Sophie Wilson’s ability in the slightest.

"Seriously? You’re actually scared?" David looked at Kellan in surprise. "Fine, if you’re not coming, we’ll go. We fought tooth and nail to ’kill’ our way here; we can’t let some unreliable person hold us back and walk away with nothing."

Seeing that Kellan had no intention of joining in, David went straight off to find the others.

Of course, quite a few people were interested in this kind of activity.

Especially in this environment, everything was about ability.

If you don’t have the skills, they won’t recognize you.

Even being recommended by the chairman is useless—they only look at strength.

Kellan and the others were staying in the most basic big dorm, with bunk beds. Before lights-out, everyone was still talking excitedly about how to give Sophie Wilson a hard time tomorrow.

Kellan silently rolled up his quilt and went straight to sleep. As for those guys... they could go dig their own graves.
