RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 242: Change In Chaos Bloodline (Part 6)
"Hand it over."
Kalsh stared at William silently before shaking his head.
"If you want it, you will have to ta—"
Crackle!
"As you wish."
William didn’t wait for Kalsh to finish speaking and suddenly appeared right in front of him.
Arcs of destructive Blood Lightning crackled around his body, and his hand moved like a viper, heading straight toward Kalsh’s neck.
Bang!
However, the instant William’s hand touched Kalsh’s neck, his body exploded into motes of black lightning and disappeared.
’A clone...’
William was taken aback, and a stunned look appeared in his eyes.
"Lightning Cage!"
Suddenly, a cold voice echoed from the side, and a cage made of black lightning enveloped William, trapping him inside.
"Did you really think I was foolish?" Kalsh’s cold voice sounded from the side, and William turned his head to look at him.
"Since I decided to fight you, I obviously have some confidence in defeating you."
William frowned slightly and ignoring Kalsh’s words, looked at the black cube in his palm.
The cube was the size of a marble, and faint arcs of black lightning could be seen flickering across its surface.
Seeing William looking at the small cube in his hand, Kalsh chuckled and showed it to him properly.
"My Natal Artifact. Cool, isn’t it?" He said proudly. "Not only does it accelerate the recovery of my soul power and physical energy, but it also increases the power of my lightning abilities by 100%. I paid a hefty price to the Green Tower to have them make it for me."
"Natal Artifact..." A look of surprise flashed in William’s eyes upon hearing Kalsh’s words.
’Is this thing similar to a Soul Armament?’
William thought for a moment before shifting his attention back to Kalsh.
"Do you think this cage can trap me?"
"Of course not." Kalsh chuckled and shook his head. "I have seen you fight against that insanely powerful Superior Fire Spirit. Even with all my abilities, I know I am no match for you. But..."
Kalsh suddenly smiled strangely as lightning crackled around him.
William frowned slightly at the smile on his face, unable to understand what he was planning.
BOOOOOOM!
A booming sound echoed, and Kalsh suddenly shot forward.
William was taken aback by his action, but when he saw where Kalsh was heading, a deep chill ran through his green eyes.
"How stupid..." Kalsh smiled as he stretched out his hand, intending to grab Eve.
He had seen how William treated her and knew that she was his only chance to gain some leverage over him.
If he managed to catch the girl, not only would he be able to obtain the Fire Mandawa, but he might even get his hands on the other things he had seen William use.
’This guy definitely has a big secret...’
He thought inwardly, recalling how William had given him some plant sap that had healed him remarkably quickly.
Number One reacted instantly, and an earthen wall rose in front of them as its body began sinking into the ground along with Eve.
"Get lost!"
Bang!
However, Kalsh was too fast. He instantly destroyed the earthen wall with his violent lightning power and sent Number One flying away.
Everything happened in just a second, and by the time William understood what Kalsh was planning, Kalsh was already in front of Eve.
Eve looked at the strange uncle who wanted to grab her with a curious expression, not understanding his intentions.
Just as Kalsh’s hand was only a meter away from reaching her, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, and an unprecedented sense of danger engulfed him.
"Eternal Night!"
An icy voice echoed across the Desolate Land, and despite it being daytime, everything plunged into darkness.
"What the...?"
Kalsh was greatly alarmed by the sudden loss of his sight, but he still tried to reach forward and grab Eve.
But to his shock, his hand grabbed nothing.
The little girl who had been standing there a moment ago had suddenly disappeared.
Just as he began to feel uneasy, the darkness around him started to recede. But instead of returning to normal, everything around him turned blood-red as faint crimson light poured down from the sky.
Feeling terrified, Kalsh raised his head, and the instant he looked up, he couldn’t help but take a step back in fear.
In the sky, William hovered nearly twenty meters above him, with two jet-black wings unfolded on his back and a Blood Moon hanging right behind him.
"You know, I could have killed you easily when we first met on the Volcano," William said in an indifferent tone as he looked down at him. "Do you know why I didn’t kill you?"
Kalsh opened his mouth, but no words came out as he was too afraid to speak.
It was the first time in his life that he had witnessed something like this, and he had no idea what was happening.
Seeing that Kalsh wasn’t speaking, William didn’t mind and continued.
"I didn’t kill you simply because I thought you would be useful. Although you attacked me first and wanted to use me to escape danger, I was doing the same thing. I wanted to use you to obtain more information and enter Varhan City easily. We both had our own agendas, and as long as you fulfilled your role, I wouldn’t have minded letting you live, even though you had attacked me..."
A crimson aura suddenly began to fill the surroundings.
"But not only did you decide to run away with the Fire Mandawa without even thinking about fulfilling your promise to get me a registered identity, but you also had the gall to attack a child just to save your own ass."
"I..." Kalsh felt a chill run down his spine as he sensed the intense killing intent locked onto him.
"Ple-Please, don’t kill me. I just... I just wanted to save my brother and did something horrible out of desperation. I will give you the Fire Mandawa. Please let me go. My brother is still waiting for me."
William stared at Kalsh for a second before stretching out his hand, his eyes glowing with intense blood light.
William had no intention of letting Kalsh go, as he knew that if he spared him and let him return to Varhan City, it would only bring him more trouble.
There was no way this guy wouldn’t try to get revenge on him after returning.
He might even make it even more difficult for him to enter Varhan City.
As William stretched out his hand, the Blood Moon behind him reacted to his action and glowed with an intense crimson light.
"Your brother is waiting for you and my family is also waiting for me to return," William said in a low voice as he clenched his fist.
Cough!
Kalsh suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood, and a look of horror appeared on his face as he stared at William.
"You..."
He wasn’t able to finish his words before his body dropped to the ground, and his life aura completely disappeared.
