Chapter 240: Change In Chaos Bloodline (Part 4)

William didn’t care about his Aether Energy consumption and continued using Time Acceleration at its full power of 2.5×, along with his Blood Lightning.

Because of the high gravity in the volcanic area, his physical energy consumption was also very high and despite his strong physical body, he couldn’t help feeling extremely tired as he flew away.

Only after leaving the volcanic area and escaping far away did he slow down, panting heavily as he came down from the sky and slumped onto the hard ground.

"Almost got myself killed," William muttered as he looked at the burns on his skin.

Because he had consumed a lot of physical energy during the earlier fight and his subsequent escape, he was almost out of stamina and couldn’t recover even with Super Regeneration or Immortal Blood Heart.

William glanced back and seeing that the Superior Fire Spirit wasn’t chasing after him, he finally sighed in relief.

"Using those white flames must have consumed a lot of its energy. Otherwise, considering its fiery personality, I am sure it would have chased after me to end of the world," He said to himself before taking out a lot of meat jerky and wolfing it down.

As he ate, his body digested the food extremely quickly, and his physical energy recovered at a rapid pace.

His Super Regeneration once again began to work, and the burns on his body slowly healed.

However, even after his burns had healed, William still felt a burning sensation in his flesh, as if a fire were burning inside his body.

Frowning, William carefully examined himself and immediately noticed faint traces of fire energy left behind by the white fire the Superior Fire Spirit had used.

When the white fireballs had exploded earlier, he had been caught in the heat waves they produced.

The energy of those white flames was extremely domineering, and despite Super Regeneration having already healed his body, faint traces of that fire still remained, making him feel as though his body were burning.

William tried using Immortal Blood Heart and Super Regeneration to remove those traces of fire energy and restore his body to perfect condition.

However, he found that the process was extremely slow, and it would take hours for him to completely eliminate the remaining fire energy.

"This is troublesome..." William frowned slightly, as he wasn’t a masochist and didn’t want to suffer through the burning pain for hours.

Just then, he thought about his Vermilion Flame and decided to use it to see if it could remove the traces of fire energy.

Since it was also a fire, he thought it might be more effective at dealing with such a problem than Immortal Blood Heart and Super Regeneration.

The Vermilion Flame spread across his body, and to his surprise, it immediately began devouring the traces of white flame as it burned.

In just a minute, the burning pain he had been feeling disappeared.

William stopped using the Vermilion Flame and showed a thoughtful expression.

"So Immortal Blood Heart and Super Regeneration aren’t omnipotent. As long as a certain type of injury doesn’t directly damage my body and only causes pain, these abilities can’t necessarily stop it."

William took a deep breath and took out some Aether Energy Stones to recover his energy.

"The number of Aether Energy Stones I have is getting lower and lower."

William glanced at his remaining Aether Energy Stones and saw that he had only about 1,900 stones left.

He had used quite a lot of them over the last fifteen days, as he had to fight against many Crawlers every night.

Shaking his head, he stopped thinking about it and focused on recovering his energy.

Around ten minutes later, he had recovered enough energy and, without wasting any time, spread his wings and flew away.

"I hope that guy managed to escape."

William looked toward a distant boulder that was nearly twenty meters high and visible even from his current location.

Before they went to steal the Fire Mandawa, William and Kalsh had decided to meet there after stealing it.

Using his wings, William reached the location in just a minute and looked around.

However, as he searched the area, he didn’t see Kalsh anywhere.

"Did he fail to escape?" William frowned and flew around to check.

But even after searching the surroundings, he couldn’t find any trace of him.

William remained silent for a moment before closing his eyes.

"I hope it’s not what I am thinking, or it would really be a pity..." He muttered softly and tried to sense Number One’s position through the Seed of Darkness planted by his Heart Devourer ability.

After a few seconds, he confirmed Number One’s location and seeing where it was, he couldn’t help but sigh.

"What a pity..." He shook his head and opened his eyes.

Looking into the distance, he flapped his wings and shot forward.

William simply used his wings to fly and didn’t use any battle arts or skills to increase his speed, as he didn’t want to waste any more of his Aether Energy.

However, even without using any abilities, his flying speed was still impressive, and he flew incredibly fast.

In less than ten minutes, William could sense that he was very close to Number One.

Narrowing his eyes, he activated Eyes of Insight and immediately noticed faint traces of energy left behind by someone who had recently passed through the area.

Following the energy traces, he continued flying and soon spotted a figure covered in Black Lightning running in the distance.

Seeing Kalsh, a glint flashed in William’s eyes as he flapped his wings.

Woosh!

His figure shot forward at incredible speed, and within moments, he caught up with the running figure.

Kalsh, who had been running, noticed someone approaching from the sky and raised his head, only to see William looking at him with a faint smile.

A stunned expression appeared on Kalsh’s face when he saw William, but it was quickly replaced by joy, and he stopped running.
