RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 230: Kalsh (Part 1)
ROAR!
A terrifying roar suddenly exploded from the top of the volcano, making William flinch slightly.
He immediately raised his head to look up, and his eyes widened in surprise.
"Is that... a human?" He muttered under his breath, staring at a figure running down from the top of the volcano with a panicked look.
The figure looked like a male human about six feet tall. His long, shoulder-length hair was completely disheveled, and burn marks could be seen all over his body.
As the man ran, he glanced back from time to time, appearing extremely nervous.
’Is he really a human?’ William frowned slightly and immediately appeared beside Eve.
"Let’s go," He said and picked her up.
Taking a step to the side, he hid behind a protruding black boulder, secretly observing the man who was running down.
Not to mention that he wasn’t sure if that guy was human so meeting him directly wasn’t a good idea. But even if he was human, it didn’t mean he was a good person or that he posed no threat to him.
Before confirming his strength and identity, it was better not to meet him.
"Those are..." Suddenly, William noticed something, and a look of surprise appeared on his face.
Behind the man, hundreds of blobs of fire were chasing after him.
"So many Fire Spirits..." He rasied an eyebrow, his eyes gleaming slightly.
Although he wasn’t interested in Fire Spirits because the energy in their cores was too low to promote his Vermilion Fire, it didn’t mean he couldn’t use them for other purposes.
’If I collect a lot of cores, I can place them in the right locations after returning to Vermilion Realm to create new Fire Spirits...’ His eyes flickered slightly. ’Not to mention, if there are thousands of cores, I can even use them to feed Vermilion Fire and promote it in case I fail to obtain the treasure Eva spoke of.’
Just as William was thinking, he noticed some larger fire blobs, nearly two meters wide and tall, among the group of Fire Spirits.
’Those are higher-level Fire Spirits.’
The Fire Spirits William had killed so far were all Minor Fire Spirits. Judging by the size of those giant fire blobs, it was clear that they were definitely of a higher level.
Moreover, the power William could sense from them was tens of times greater than that of Minor Fire Spirits.
"There must be a lot of energy in their cores," He said to himself and suppressed the urge to rush forward and kill them to obtain their cores.
"Damn it, I was so careful. How did that bastard notice me?" The running man cursed as he fled from the group of Fire Spirits chasing after him.
The man glanced at his palm and looked at a bright orange petal with a gloomy expression.
’A single leaf isn’t enough to cure the fire poison in Hepa’s body.’ He clenched his fist, and a helpless look appeared in his eyes.
Just as he was running, the temperature behind him rose sharply, and the man quickly glanced back.
As he looked back, he saw one of the higher-level Fire Spirits shoot a fireball toward him.
"I am afraid of your king, but do you all think I am afraid of you as well?" The man sneered and the next second, he stretched out his hand behind his back, and black lightning crackled around his palm.
BOOM!
An arc of black lightning suddenly shot out from his hand, blasting the incoming fireball apart.
Moreover, the lightning didn’t stop after destroying the fireball. It continued forward, striking the higher-level Fire Spirit.
Bang!
The Fire Spirit was blasted backward, crashing into several Minor Fire Spirits before dropping to the ground and rolling across it from the impact.
Although it wasn’t dead, a large patch of fire had disappeared from its body.
William, who was watching everything while hiding, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in surprise when he saw this.
’The power of that lightning was comparable to the attack of an ordinary Star Lord...’ He thought inwardly, his eyes narrowing.
What was even more surprising was that he couldn’t sense any Aether Energy coming from the man.
Similar to how Number One used its earth ability through stamina and soul power, this man had also conjured the lightning through his stamina and soul power.
’Is this the unique technique of this world?’ William muttered to himself, a look of interest appearing on his face.
Moreover, when the man had spoken earlier, William had confirmed that he was speaking Universal Language, meaning communication between them was possible.
’If I capture this guy, not only can I obtain information that Malra wasn’t able to give me, but I can also ask him about the technique he used earlier.’
Just as William was thinking, the man who had been running abruptly turned his head in the direction where William was hiding.
"Damn it, they are everywhere!" The man cursed, and a ball of black lightning formed in his palm in an instant.
Without saying anything, he threw the ball toward the boulder William was hiding behind.
William’s expression changed drastically when he saw this, and he immediately grabbed Eve’s hand and backed away.
But the attack came too suddenly, and the lightning ball was extremely fast.
By the time he grabbed Eve’s hand, he had only managed to take a few steps back before the lightning ball struck the boulder, causing it to explode.
William immediately activated Time Acceleration and Time Perception, and everything in his eyes slowed down.
The fragments of the destroyed boulder flew toward him and Eve at incredible speed, but he swung his Aether Energy-covered hand and tried to deflect them.
Although he deflected almost all of them, one of the smaller stones still slipped through the gap.
"Arghh!" William suddenly heard Eve’s painful groan, and his expression changed slightly.
He immediately looked at her and saw her covering the side of her cheek, with blood flowing out from between the fingers pressed against it.
