RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 130: Blood Of Progenitor (Part 2)
As soon as William and Vivian’s blood came into contact with the magic circle, it began to squirm like worms and slowly merged together.
"Looks like the ritual isn’t affected by the divinity in your blood..." Vivian breathed a sigh of relief when she saw their blood merging together without any problems.
William didn’t know anything about the ritual, so he couldn’t tell whether it was proceeding perfectly or not. However, upon hearing Vivian’s words, he also couldn’t help but smile.
Just then, William suddenly felt a burning sensation coming from the back of his palm, and his expression changed slightly.
He quickly looked at his hand and saw the symbol of a sword with a pupil in the middle of its blade glowing on the back of his hand.
"This..." William was stunned when he saw this.
He had always kept this symbol invisible in order to avoid attracting any attention. But now, the symbol was acting on its own, and no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t hide it.
"What’s wrong?" Vivian noticed the change in William’s expression and asked in concern. "Are you alright?"
"This symbol..." William showed the glowing symbol to Vivian. "This thing is acting on its own."
Vivian looked at the back of William’s palm, and a look of confusion appeared on her face.
"What symbol?"
She grabbed his hand and looked at it carefully, but couldn’t see anything on it.
William also noticed the confusion on Vivian’s face and asked in a low voice.
"You can’t see anything on my hand?"
He once again showed her the glowing symbol.
"There is nothing on your hand," Vivian shook her head and asked in concern. "Are you sure you are alright?"
William remained silent upon hearing Vivian’s reply. However, seeing the concern on her face, he took a deep breath and shook his head.
"I am fine. Just a bit tired."
Vivian looked at him for a few seconds before speaking seriously.
"If you need any help, don’t hesitate to ask me."
William pasued for a second and felt warm upon hearing this.
He smiled at her and nodded.
"Of course I will. If not my wife, then who will I ask for help if I ever need it?"
Vivian blushed slightly at his words and spoke in a soft voice.
"We are not married yet."
"But isn’t this Eternal Blood Pact even better than marriage?" William couldn’t help but mutter upon hearing her.
Seeing the happy expression on her face, he shook his head inwardly.
’Can you see the symbol on my hand?’ William asked the spirit of the pearl.
’There is nothing on your hand.’
The spirit’s reply was the same as Vivian’s, making William certain that no one could see the symbol on his hand.
’Actually, I never asked, so I still don’t know if the spirit of the pearl knows about that Supreme Figure. In fact, I am not even sure if it knows that I accidentally met a Supreme Figure.’
William decided to ask the questions in his mind later and shifted his attention to the glowing magic circle beneath them.
’I hope the ritual won’t be affected because of this symbol.’
William knew that the symbol on his hand was related to the Supreme Figure he had seen.
His bloodline was also connected to that Supreme Figure.
Now that the symbol was reacting, he was afraid that it might affect the ritual in some way.
Just as he was praying inwardly, the magic circle suddenly glowed brightly, its radiance covering the entire cave.
At the same time, William could feel a very deep connection with someone.
Through this connection, he could feel emotions of joy and happiness, as if the person was dancing in delight.
’Is this... Vivian’s emotions?’ William thought inwardly and couldn’t help but smile when he sensed her happiness.
"So we can even sense each other’s emotions through our connection..." He muttered to himself and tried to sense her emotions again.
’Hehehe... Now he is completely mine! With the Eternal Blood Pact in effect, he will never be able to leave or run away from me.’
William’s mouth twitched slightly, and he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry upon hearing her thoughts.
’Well, it’s fine as long as she is happy.’
He stopped dwelling on it and looked at Vivian, who was smiling.
"Is the ritual successful?"
"It’s almost done..." Vivian said happily. "We just need to drink each other’s blood, and it will be completed."
"Drink blood..." William felt a bit strange when he heard Vivian’s words.
But when he remembered that this was a ritual of vampires, he found it quite reasonable.
"Alright..." He nodded and stretched out his hand with a teasing expression. "Still want to drink blood from my hand?"
Vivian didn’t care about William’s teasing. Instead, she pulled him closer to her, burying her head in the crook of his neck.
"Why would I drink from there now?" She whispered in a low voice before licking his nape with her tongue.
William felt a wet, tingling sensation on his nape, and goosebumps immediately covered his entire body.
’Damn it...’ He cursed inwardly and hurriedly spoke.
"Just drink the blood. Why are you tickling me?"
"Heh..." Vivian smiled smugly when she heard his somewhat stiff voice.
However, she also knew that they were in the middle of the ritual, so she didn’t tease him any further.
She opened her mouth, and her sharp canine teeth easily pierced through William’s skin.
The familiar taste of his blood exploded across Vivian’s tongue, and she couldn’t help but close her eyes in bliss.
William also grabbed Vivian’s palm, which she had cut earlier to drip her blood onto the magic circle.
Since he wasn’t a vampire and didn’t have specialized teeth straws in his mouth, he could only drink her blood from the wound on her palm.
He brought her palm to his mouth and pressed his lips against the wound, sucking the blood from it.
William wasn’t a vampire and didn’t particularly like drinking blood, so after taking only a small sip, he pulled his head back.
As Vivian’s blood slid down his throat, William suddenly felt a burning sensation spreading through his body.
He didn’t pay much attention to it, thinking it was simply a result of the ritual.
But suddenly, the burning sensation in his body increased dramatically, as if his insides were on fire.
"Ughh... Vivian..." William couldn’t help but call out to Vivian, who was still lost in the pleasure of drinking his blood.
Hearing William’s uncomfortable voice, Vivian thought she had drunk too much of his blood and quickly pulled away.
But as soon as she did, she noticed that something was wrong.
William’s skin was turning red at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if he were being roasted alive.
"What’s happening?"
A shocked look appeared on Vivian’s face, and she hurriedly placed her hand against William’s chest, sensing his condition.
Seeing Vivian’s reaction, William also understood that his condition was definitely not related to the ritual, and his expression turned ugly.
’Damn it, something really happened...’ He cursed inwardly as he looked at the symbol on his hand.
The symbol was now glowing even more brightly, almost blinding him whenever he looked directly at it.
When Vivian sensed William’s condition, she noticed that his blood was boiling.
Not metaphorically or because of anger.
His blood was literally boiling, as if someone had lit a fire inside his body.
At the same time, she could sense a strange yet heart-palpitating power slowly awakening within his blood.
Just sensing that power made her feel a strong sense of danger.
Vivian looked at William and asked worriedly.
"How are you feeling?"
"I am fine. It’s just a bit uncomfortable..." William spoke while sweating profusely because of his rising body temperature.
He had just finished speaking when suddenly, his expression changed.
A soul-shaking pain, as if someone were tearing his entire body apart from within engulfed him.
"Fu*k..." William dropped to his knees, gritting his teeth as intense pain coursed through his body.
"Will!"
Vivian panicked when she saw this and immediately supported him.
"Here, drink this."
She took out a glowing yellow potion and immediately made him drink it.
As the potion slid down his throat, William felt the pain in his body lessen slightly, but it was still far from disappearing.
’Damn it, just what is happening...’
William gritted his teeth as he looked at the symbol on his hand, which had already become as bright as the sun.
Just then, a notification suddenly flashed before his eyes, and his pupils contracted to the size of needles.
(Your Bloodline is Awakening...)
At the same time, the bloodline section on his status window changed.
