Chapter 1606: Why Are You So Serious

Upon hearing Thomas Fisher’s hushed shout, Anthony instinctively stopped in his tracks. Initially, he thought Thomas was lying to deceive him, but when he turned and saw the seriousness on Thomas’s face, he began to waver in doubt.

"Is everything you said true?"

He looked at the person not far away with skepticism, hoping to find the answer he wanted in the other’s eyes.

At this moment, Alice Turner walked out from the house and saw Thomas Fisher and Anthony in a confrontational stance. Her brows instantly furrowed, "What are you two arguing about?"

Having been woken up by the noise in the corridor from a good sleep, her mood, which was already not cheerful, worsened.

Seeing Alice with a drowsy look, Anthony realized he had misunderstood earlier. Thinking of the things he said to Thomas Fisher, his cheeks instantly flushed, "You two take your time, I’ll head down first."

With that, he hurriedly ran downstairs as if escaping.

"What happened to Jacob? Did you bully him?" Seeing Anthony rush downstairs in a panic, Alice’s first reaction was that Thomas Fisher had bullied Anthony, and she pointed at him discontentedly.

He bullied that kid?

Clearly, it was that kid who came up and ranted at him, even calling him a beast.

Thomas Fisher felt more upset being wronged by Alice Turner than by being called a beast by Anthony. He walked over, took her hand, and naturally placed it on his chest, "Alice! I didn’t bully him, you’re wronging me, I’m so sad, you need to comfort me."

Before he finished speaking, he was already holding her hand and rubbing it over his chest.

"So what were you two arguing about in the hallway just now?" Alice Turner tried to pull her hand back, but Thomas Fisher held on too tightly, and she couldn’t retrieve it.

Thomas Fisher looked at her and seriously asked, "Are you sure you want to know?"

Luckily that guy was dressed as a man; otherwise, hearing what that guy said, he really wouldn’t know how to comment.

"Why are you being so serious? Were you two discussing something very serious?" Seeing the earnest look on Thomas Fisher’s face, Alice Turner felt a bit confused. She really wanted to know what the two were arguing about but his words made her hesitate.

Thomas Fisher stared at her for a while, finally deciding not to speak, "After sleeping for so long, are you hungry? Let’s go downstairs and eat."

Saying those words would only embarrass Alice, and he didn’t want to make things awkward between them; it wouldn’t benefit him.

"I am indeed a bit hungry."

Seeing Thomas avoid the topic entirely, Alice Turner thought it must not be anything good, and she didn’t press further. She followed his lead and went downstairs with him to eat.

When the two went downstairs, Anthony had already returned to normal, calmly sitting in the dining room, waiting for the two to come down and dine together.

"Sis! Bro-in-law! Must be hungry, hurry and sit down to eat." Seeing the two walk in hand in hand, Anthony was the first to raise his hand and invite them to sit down for the meal.

Thomas Fisher didn’t act awkwardly and sat down with Alice Turner across from Anthony. Seeing the table full of delicious dishes, he exclaimed, "So bountiful, Alice! We’re really in for a treat today."

Alice Turner didn’t respond to either Thomas Fisher or Anthony. Her gaze lingered between the two; although they seemed calm, she just felt something odd about them.
