Chapter 1593: I Was Wrong, Go Ahead and Scold Me

Thinking about what happened five years ago, Alice Turner’s worries grew even stronger, and she couldn’t stay at home any longer. She immediately grabbed her phone and rushed out of the room.

"Alice! Don’t worry, I think I see him." Just as Alice was anxiously running out to search for Anthony, Thomas Fisher’s voice came from the other end of the phone.

Her rushing movement paused for a moment, and she pressed the phone back to her ear, "What did you just say? Did you see Jacob? Where is he?"

After asking, she didn’t dare to breathe, quietly listening to the sounds on the other end of the phone.

"He just got off the bus and is heading towards the hospital." Thomas Fisher truthfully informed the anxious person on the other end of the phone about what he saw.

While speaking, he continued driving without being affected. He stepped on the accelerator, and within half a minute, he parked the car beside Anthony.

"Anthony! Do you know your sister is really worried about you sneaking out?" As soon as Thomas Fisher stopped the car, he stuck his head out of the window and shouted at Anthony with dissatisfaction.

Anthony saw a car approaching him earlier and initially thought those people were going to run him over. He was preparing to dodge to the side when he suddenly saw a familiar license plate number.

Having recognized Thomas’s car, Anthony was not surprised or angry when someone suddenly shouted at him. Instead, he felt a sense of remorse.

"I just wanted to come here to see my ex-husband."

He wanted to see Benjamin Shaw, but his main purpose was to avoid Alice Turner, determined not to return to Derry Kingdom today.

"You could have informed your sister that you were coming here. Sneaking out like this, what were you thinking?" Thinking about Alice being worried about Anthony, Thomas Fisher’s anger couldn’t be contained. If Anthony weren’t a woman, he would have surely given him a beating.

When Anthony sneaked out, he really didn’t think much about it. Now, after Thomas Fisher’s questioning, he realized what he did was inappropriate.

He was focused on running away and didn’t consider that his sister would be worried about him. Suddenly, he felt he was so selfish.

"Explain it to your sister yourself."

Just as Anthony was about to apologize to Thomas Fisher, a phone suddenly appeared in front of him. He hesitated for a moment and then reached out to take the phone.

Seeing the phone was in call mode, he realized the person in the car was on the phone with Alice. Without daring to hesitate, he placed the phone to his ear.

"Sis! I’m sorry, I was wrong, scold me." Anthony didn’t offer explanations or defend himself. As soon as he started speaking, he admitted his mistake to Alice on the phone and asked her to scold him.

At this moment, Alice was really a bit angry, but she didn’t shout or curse at Anthony.

She took several deep breaths, calming her emotions as quickly as possible. Once she felt more composed, she spoke in a heavy tone, "Jacob! I’m not trying to control you, nor restrict you, I only wish to ask you, beg..."

"Sis! I really realize my mistake now, please don’t talk to me like that, I’m scared." It was the first time Anthony had heard Alice speak to him this way. Though she seemed calm, he knew she was truly angry today, and very angry at that.

This side of Alice made him feel inexplicable fear; it was a kind of respectful fear.
