There was silence for a while, during which Aiden allowed the god in front of him to enjoy the snacks. He took this time to observe the clothed god in front of him.

The god picked up his tea and snacks, and with a wave of his hand, a small portion disappeared.

It was a show of the god’s power as well as his way to show that he was above mortal ways of doing things. But it only served to make him come across as a little creepy.

’Aiden, I will change forms and come out as well. I have a feeling we have a tough opponent in front of us.’

Goddess Apophis slithered down Aiden’s body and disappeared into the back room. She returned within seconds and took her assigned seat beside Aiden and in front of this unnamed god.

The air in the room turned even tenser as the two divine auras interfered with each other and tried to suppress each other.

Finally, Goddess Apophis broke the silence first and took the initiative to speak up.

"So, what brings an esteemed guest such as yourself to my humble territory? If it’s just for a social visit, then I would like to thank you for your interest. However, I cannot reveal the secret behind it all."

Considering that it had not even been 1 month since Aiden was last kidnapped, his goddess’s possessiveness and protectiveness were noticeable.

Aiden quietly sat at her side and observed the unnamed god.

The calmness this deity showed was remarkable. It was as if nothing he heard could get to him.

But soon, he began to tap his fingers on the table and then decided to reveal the reason he was here.

"I am here because I want your territory. I have decided that it is time for me to expand the area of my worship, and your village is next. I would like to give you the option of peacefully surrendering before I take any harsh action."

That was the last thing Aiden expected to hear from the god sitting in front of him. But his goddess did not look shocked.

She waved her hand in an arrogant way and gave the man in front of her a stern look.

"Hmm, if that is all you came here for, then you can leave. I have no intention of handing over your territory, nor my worshippers, to you."

This was a clear no, which left no room for interpretation. His goddess had made her stance known.

But the unnamed god did not take offense, nor did he get up. Instead, he lifted his veiled head and looked at Aiden’s goddess.

"I see. So you have chosen to go to war with us? I expected nothing less from you. Now, allow me to give you a rift in return for your passion."

The god raised his hand, and his followers closed their ears. The next second, the sky outside became cloudy before a bolt of lightning rushed down.

Goddess Apophis’s barrier blocked the lightning bolt, but it was enough to make the people of the village look up in fright.

The bright sunny day had suddenly turned gloomy, making the mood of the festival become gloomier as well, and Aiden felt a little angry.

"Excuse me, but there is a limit to how rude you can be. First, you come here uninvited and then cause problems, and now you are threatening our people? We will have no choice but to send you back at this rate."

Aiden warned the god, which caused his followers to become angry at Aiden. He felt a gust of wind cutting his cheeks, but he did not move and kept himself seated.

"Don’t say stupid stuff like this in front of our god. Insulting them is the same as insulting us. And we will kill you-"

"Coming into my territory and not only threatening to claim it, but also threatening to harm my Apostle! I have heard enough from you. Return from where you came. Your kind is not welcome here."

Goddess Apophis finally showed her true colors, and her anger made the air inside the room tenser.

Aiden did not feel anything, but the guards of the other god were a different story. They were clutching their chests as if they could not breathe.

But their god did not help them. In fact, he did not even seem interested that his followers were hurt.

Instead, he looked at Aiden and his goddess with a curious look in his eyes.

"I can see that my proposal of marriage will not work. Then I guess we have no choice but to go to war over this territory."

The tension in the room could be cut with a knife. Aiden could see Lumi flinching at the word war, but she held her ground as well.

As for Aiden, he had expected this to happen sooner or later, so he was not worried. In fact, he was prepared to fight any battle needed.

The decision was up to his goddess, but instead of answering outright, she decided to ask Aiden what he thought they should do.

’Aiden, what are your suggestions? I will do as you ask. Should we take their offer and settle this peacefully? Or should we risk going to war?’

Goddess Apophis could have declared that she was going to war, and no one would blame her. But since she turned to Aiden, he bore equal responsibility in this decision.

The calmer thing to do would be to accept these terms and avoid war.

However, how could Aiden ever let his goddess suffer such humiliation? He would rather have the other side bend to their will.

"What else is there for us to say, Goddess Apophis? If a war is needed, then a war is what we will give them."

The unnamed god remained silent for a moment as he looked at Aiden and Goddess Apophis. There was no anger in his expression, nor was there any sign of fear.

Instead, he seemed almost amused by their response.

"Very well. Then I suppose there is nothing more to discuss."

He slowly stood up from his seat, and the pressure surrounding him became even stronger.
