Chapter 105: Ch 104: Uninvited Troubled Guests

"Ouch! My arm! It hurts so much! I might lose my arm because of this. You better compensate me for this."

The palanquin carrier cried out while clutching his arm tightly in his arms. He looked seriously pissed off about not getting what he wanted.

But Aiden did not panic. Instead, he picked up the pouch the same palanquin carrier had dropped and handed it back.

"Here, since you said that your medicine is miraculous, you can use it. However, please do not try and force it on our people. It will be troublesome if I have to throw you out because you don’t know how to conduct yourself."

Aiden threatened with a smile, and the palanquin carrier gritted his teeth in anger.

He even started to threaten the second it looked like Aiden was going to pin it all on him.

"I-I am the injured party here, and you are making threats? Do you even know who I am? I am going to complain about you-"

"And what are you going to say? That I was stopped from distributing drugs by someone, so I am here to complain? And whom would you complain to?"

Aiden asked, and the palanquin carrier became even more enraged and started to spout bullshit.

"You are a disgrace! I offered you my help, and this is how you repay me? I ought to-"

The man was in the middle of his rant when he suddenly fell down and clutched his head.

One second, the man was in pain, and the next he was dead.

No one even knew what happened, but someone screamed, and then more people did.

Aiden sighed at the disaster that was happening and looked at his goddess for help. She looked uninterested, but at his look, she made the body disappear.

The other palanquin carriers looked suspicious of Aiden, but since they had just seen what happened, they realized it was not his fault.

"For now, why don’t we head back together and have some tea? I have a feeling your master wants to have a talk with me."

Aiden asked as he turned around and started to walk back toward the temple.

The palanquin carriers were suspicious, but then they got the signal and followed after Aiden.

Lumi was in charge of the nearby temple, and she greeted Aiden before she looked behind him. She had sensed the foreign presence in the palanquin as well, and she became alert.

"Lumi, please make sure no one else comes and disturbs us for some time. I would like to have some alone time with my new friends."

He passed her a smile to show that nothing was wrong and that she did not need to worry. But Lumi still looked worried.

"Should I bring you something-"

This was her way of asking Aiden if he needed her help with keeping an eye on these people. But Aiden did not need it.

After all, he had his goddess, and that was more than enough for him.

Besides, if things got truly desperate, then he had the system. He would even sell himself to make sure his goddess remained safe.

"It’s fine. Just bring some tea and snacks for our guests. You know, the ones I asked you to store specifically for our guests?"

Those snacks were modern snacks that Aiden bought regularly. He kept them in the freezer here in case of such emergencies. And now it was finally time to make use of them.

Lumi looked surprised at first, but one look behind him made her nod, and she quickly went away.

Now it was only Aiden and these guests of his he needed to entertain.

"Shall we head inside? You can bring the palanquin in as well if you feel comfortable. There is more than enough space."

Aiden assured, but the person in the palanquin extended his hand outside. The palanquin was immediately put down, and the person from inside came out.

They were covered with a cloth from head to toe, so it was impossible to see their features. But none of the palanquin carriers dared to raise their heads once this person came out.

"I am here. Let’s head inside."

The voice echoed inside Aiden’s head, and he was sure that it belonged to the god standing in front of him.

As amazing as this was, Aiden did not like this invasion of privacy. The only person he wanted in his head was his goddess, and no one else.

But despite this irritation, Aiden decided to give the god in front of him a smile and invite him inside.

The god slowly walked inside without saying another word, and Aiden followed behind him.

The palanquin carriers remained outside for a moment before Aiden gestured for them to come inside as well.

Once everyone was seated, Aiden took a moment to study the mysterious god in front of him.

There was something strange about his presence.

Even though Goddess Apophis’s barrier had suppressed his power, Aiden could still feel an overwhelming pressure coming from him.

’Just what kind of god is this?’

Aiden was curious, but he did not allow that curiosity to make him careless. He had already learned that gods were not people he could treat casually.

Thankfully, Goddess Apophis was right beside him, and her presence alone made Aiden feel much safer.

Soon, Lumi returned with the tea and snacks and she placed everything on the table before looking toward the covered god.

For a moment, her eyes narrowed.

She clearly wanted to know who this mysterious guest was, but she did not ask.

Aiden appreciated her restraint.

"Please, have some tea. These snacks are from my homeland, so you might find them interesting."

The god reached out and picked up one of the snacks. There was no hesitation in his actions, almost as if he was not afraid of Aiden’s tempering...

Or rather, it was as if the thought of someone tempering with his food never crossed his mind at all.

’Ah, this god must be privileged indeed. Or maybe because he’s a strong god, he does not need to worry about such things?’
