Chapter 131: Again Inside the Anderson Dukedom’s Residence

"Since my hips feel lighter now, shall we go on patrol?"

I stood up and stretched, and Lily said with suspicion,

"Huh? You’re unusually energetic today, aren’t you?"

"Energy? Isn’t this how I always am?"

"Is that so? Last time you were more sluggish and clingy, weren’t you? There were times when you wouldn’t let go of my chest."

"Well, I’m just a very sensitive ten-year-old!"

"You sound like an old man, though."

"Never mind. Let’s go!"

I leaped to the next roof with a boing! and then jumped boing! boing! until we reached a spot where we could see the noble district.

"Has the security team already left?"

"They should be. Of course not Captain Copeland’s unit."

"If I follow the security team, will we run into thieves?"

"Let’s not do that. I think it will only make things more complicated if Prince Robin appears."

"Why?"

"Because if we show up while the security team and thieves are fighting, the thieves might think we’re something else. How are we supposed to explain who we are if the captain doesn’t know us?"

"That makes sense. We don’t even have a royal warrant."

"In that case, they might arrest us. If things get bad, they might even kill us. That would be no good, right?"

"It would be."

"Then it’s better not to show ourselves unnecessarily."

"Got it. Then I’ll just wander around and go back to my room."

"You haven’t visited the Rosette Countess’s residence for a while, have you?"

We leaped over the wall and walked casually in front of the Anderson Dukedom mansion. Lily stopped me.

"Exactly. It feels unnecessary, but the mansion’s awareness is clearly focused on the group of ten or so people waiting in front of the gate. This mansion should have been untouched."

We stepped down to the road and waited in front of the mansion. Killing intent leaked heavily from inside. The mansion’s guards were aimed at the group waiting outside, not at us.

"Amazing!"

I couldn’t help but mutter. The suspicious group was standing there calmly even though they knew the mansion was glaring at them, and they were preparing to storm in.

Why would they try to break into the Anderson Dukedom mansion? I thought out loud, but Lily picked it up seriously.

"I don’t know. They probably have confidence in their own strength. These aren’t just thieves; they’re robbers. They’re not stealing something. They’re trying to prove they’re strong, like storming the mansion and making a name for themselves."

"You’re joking, right?"

"I probably am. But maybe they get a rush from proving their strength at the cost of their lives. That’s why they don’t seem to care about us. Their awareness is focused on the mansion, not us."

"Proving strength? Doesn’t that just make the mansion feel more bothered?"

"Of course. Still, the Anderson Dukedom mansion’s security team is said to be the strongest in the capital."

"Who started that rumor? Where did you hear it?"

I looked at the group outside and the thieves inside the mansion.

"They think we’re worthless. Or maybe our concealment skill is working."

"I hope so. That would be great."

"I know."

Lily took out a crossbow from her pocket. The crossbow didn’t match the size of her pocket at all.

"Lily, what is this?"

"It’s a crossbow. Didn’t you know?"

"No, what? It just came out of her pocket?!"

"Ah, it’s a mana bag. I usually carry a bag and take things out of it, but I don’t have one with me right now, so I used my pocket."

"That’s weird, isn’t it?"

"Is it weird? Then where else could I take it out?"

"I can’t think of anywhere else either."

When I looked, I remembered hearing something like that.

"I have another crossbow, but would you like to try it, Lord Robby?"

"Really? Then you should practice now. You never know what weapons you might need on the way to the Kingdom of Mainz."
