Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 516 - 514: Her Family is His Family
Chapter 516: Chapter 514: Her Family is His Family
’Perhaps this is fate,’ she thought. ’Why else would I have mysteriously ended up in Silvanis, and gotten entangled in a romance the moment I arrived?’
When Aeron saw Nerida remain silent, the arm he had around her tightened. "Are you trying to back out of your responsibility again?"
She gently patted his hand.
"No."
Hearing this, Aeron looked right up at her. "Does that mean you’re willing to be my wife?" His voice was tinged with urgency as he spoke.
Nerida nodded lightly.
"I’ve made up my mind. Let’s be together. Everything I said before... just pretend it was nonsense. I won’t tell you to find someone else anymore."
She really couldn’t do it.
She couldn’t even imagine the man before her lying beside another woman.
Aeron hugged her, happily nuzzling his face against hers.
He asked, "You’re not lying to me?"
Nerida shook her head slightly. "Why would I lie to you about this?"
’Seeing how insecure he was, Nerida felt a pang of guilt. It seems I’ve always been the one to wrong him. I took advantage of him from the start and then refused to take responsibility. I’m really a terrible person.’
Aeron chuckled softly.
Then he couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Wife."
"Nerida, I’m so happy."
But then a thought occurred to him, and he stared at her intently. "Do you really want to be with me? Is it because you like me, and not for any other reason? It’s not out of guilt or to compensate me for anything, is it?"
Meeting his earnest gaze, Nerida nodded slightly.
He asked again.
"You like me, right?"
Nerida averted her gaze, her face flushing with heat.
When she didn’t answer, Aeron took her hand. "Tell me, please. Wife, I want to know."
She nodded slightly.
"Yes, I like you."
As those three words left her lips, Nerida felt her voice go a little stiff. She had never imagined that one day she would say them to a man.
Aeron was quiet for a moment, then he suddenly shot to his feet in joy.
He stood before Nerida, bending down slightly to look at her.
"Nerida, pinch me. I need to see if I’m dreaming."
Nerida rolled her eyes at him.
She beckoned with her hand.
"Come closer."
He bent down and brought his face close to hers.
Nerida reached out and pinched his cheek. "Does it hurt?"
He nodded slightly.
"It hurts... So I, the Young Master, am not dreaming after all."
Nerida had said she wanted to be with him.
Once it sank in, Aeron pushed his luck, sitting down beside her and wrapping his arms around her. He leaned close to Nerida’s ear and whispered, "I want to hear you say it yourself. Say you like me."
Nerida said, "Young Master, you’re pushing your luck."
"Please, wife. My dearest wife, I want to hear it."
Before she could speak, he continued to coax her.
"Big sister, my dear big sister, just say you like me. I want to hear it."
Nerida’s mind went numb. That "big sister" from him made her brain freeze for a second. It was the first time she had ever heard this man call her that.
She looked up, met his eyes, and asked in a low voice, "What did you just call me?"
Aeron seemed to realize it too. He lowered his head, blushing. "If you don’t like it, I won’t say it again."
Nerida smiled.
"I really don’t know what to do with you."
Aeron stared at her, dazed.
"Nerida, you’re so beautiful."
She reached out and patted him on the head.
"Superficial."
He said, "I just think Nerida is very beautiful."
Nerida was speechless.
’No wonder they say women love to hear sweet nothings,’ Nerida thought. ’I’m becoming superficial myself.’
She looked at the man beside her, feeling serious about this for the first time. ’Since this is fate, if I can’t fight it, I might as well just lie back and accept it.’
"Aeron."
She said his name.
His gaze shifted to her.
"I like you."
The moment her words fell,
The man beside her, blushing, threw his arms around her and buried his head in her neck.
He murmured, "That sounds so good."
But Nerida felt something warm and wet on her neck.
’The man was crying.’
She froze for a second.
"Why are you crying?"
"You’re mistaken. I just got some sand in my eye. How could I, the dignified Young Master of a nation, possibly cry?"
She just said, "Oh."
"Alright, you’re not crying."
She reached out and gently stroked his long hair, which fell over his shoulders.
’With this man by my side, perhaps the long road of Cultivation won’t be so lonely anymore.’
Thinking of this, she asked, "Will you marry me?"
Aeron’s pupils contracted when he heard her question. He abruptly raised his head, his eyes wide. With two tears still clinging to his lashes, he looked rather comical.
"What did you say?"
Nerida reached out and wiped away his tears.
Outside of Silvanis, women married men, though sometimes men would marry into the woman’s family. But considering he was a man from Silvanis, he would have to be the one to marry her.
She took both of his arms, her expression serious as she said, "I said, will you marry me?"
Aeron pulled up her sleeve to wipe his tears, a smile breaking across his face. He clutched her clothes and nodded eagerly.
Nerida looked down at her clothes.
He belatedly glanced down as well, then quickly let go. "I just got excited and forgot myself."
"It’s fine."
If it had been anyone else who dared to use her clothes to wipe their tears, Nerida would have never tolerated it; she might have snapped their neck on the spot. But as for the man before her, Nerida actually found him rather cute.
Remembering what she had just said, Aeron nodded again and again.
When he finally found his voice, he excitedly threw his arms around her waist. "I will."
’If I had known she would agree just by me calling her ’big sister,’ I would have said it a few more times.’
"I will."
"Big sister, big sister Nerida."
"Wife."
Looking at his beloved, Aeron cupped her face and kissed her on both cheeks.
Seeing him so happy, Nerida reached out and patted his back.
’Maybe this isn’t so bad after all.’
Nerida’s thoughts turned to Celeste Grant and the others.
’I wonder what the Madam and the others are doing?’
Thinking of this, she said, "Aeron, I’ll take you to meet the Madam and the others. I’m sure the Madam will like you very much."
Hearing this, Aeron was taken aback, a questioning look on his face. "What Madam? Who’s that?"
It was the first time he had heard her mention them.
In the past six months, Nerida had never once spoken about her family. As a result, he knew very little about her. For her to mention them now meant she truly considered him her Taoist Companion. At this realization, his heart felt so sweet it could burst. It was as if countless little flowers were exploding over his head, and the corners of his lips curled up involuntarily.
Nerida glanced at him and began to explain, "They are very dear to me, like family. The Exalted One’s name is Javier Sinclair. His Cultivation is immense, and the Madam is his wife, Celeste Grant. The Madam and The Exalted One have a wonderful relationship, and they also have a son and a daughter. Annie... I’m fondest of Annie. I practically raised him..."
As Nerida spoke of Celeste Grant and the others, her eyes shone brightly, as if she had endless stories to tell. Aeron listened to her talk for quite some time, gradually getting a sense of her relationship with them.
’Her family.’
’Then they’re my family too.’
