Chapter 1287: Heart Fluttering Like a Fawn

Ma Bin, Lu Lu, Aix and the others all reached the mountaintop.

Everyone turned to look. Gu Xiaozhan was tall and elegant like a jade tree in the wind, while Mu An was originally slender, but when compared to him, suddenly looked small.

And his posture was so domineering it was impossible not to let one’s imagination run wild.

"Mu An is tired." Gu Xiaozhan said shamelessly, "I’m helping him sit down."

Mu An sat on a rock, but her heartbeat sped up.

She was clearly presenting herself as a man in front of Gu Xiaozhan, yet she still felt her heart racing like a little deer. Why?

The others just thought, how come the always-cold Mr. Gu was being so nice to a brand-new employee?

Lu Lu was sure there was something off about it.

She picked up a bottle of mineral water to drink, and pretended to "accidentally" pour it toward Mu An.

Mu An hurriedly dodged. If her clothes got wet, her disguise as a man would be easily exposed.

Who knew Gu Xiaozhan would be even faster; he stepped in and blocked it in an instant.

The bottle of water, without missing a beat, poured straight onto Gu Xiaozhan’s chest.

He was only wearing sportswear, showing off his lean yet powerful muscles.

"Sorry..." Lu Lu apologized without the slightest sincerity.

Gu Xiaozhan had been allowing Lu Lu to stir up a little trouble, just to help deepen the bond between him and Mu Anhan.

But he would never allow her to actually hurt Mu Anhan. His tone was ice-cold at this moment. "Lu Lu, if you’re not here to have fun, then get lost!"

Lu Lu looked at him through tears. He had never spoken to her so harshly before.

"I just didn’t hold the water steady for a second, do you really have to curse me like that?"

"Couldn’t you drink your water somewhere else? Why did you have to come over here?" Gu Xiaozhan questioned her coldly.

"I was just walking around, and happened to end up here by chance." Lu Lu argued.

"Next time, stay away from me!" Gu Xiaozhan snapped at her without any courtesy.

Lu Lu shot Mu An a vicious glare. It was all because of him that Gu Xiaozhan was protecting him like this.

Mu An blinked innocently; how could she not see through Lu Lu’s little schemes?

Seeing Gu Xiaozhan being so intimate with her, Lu Lu was naturally jealous, so she’d seized the chance to play a trick on her.

No one expected Gu Xiaozhan to shield her so obviously. At this point, the entire R&D department probably thought there was something going on with Gu Xiaozhan.

"You’re still not going to wipe me off?" Gu Xiaozhan barked at Mu An, who was standing there in a daze.

"Yes, sir!" Mu An took out a towel and gently dabbed away the water on his body, but a large area was still wet. "President Gu, did you bring a change of clothes up the mountain?"

"No." Gu Xiaozhan lifted up his wet shirt. "Wipe inside."

Mu An glared at him. Lu Lu made the mess, yet she had to clean it up!

And her small hand unintentionally brushed against his skin. She felt it was a little strange—how come after being splashed with water, his skin was still so hot?

What she didn’t know was how much Lu Lu envied her for being able to serve Gu Xiaozhan from such close range.

Because Gu Xiaozhan was in a bad mood, no one else even dared to breathe loudly.

They all went back down at noon and had lunch together.

In the afternoon there was a horseback riding activity. A lot of people didn’t know how to ride, but Lu Lu was extremely excited.

"Mu An, do you dare to ride?" Lu Lu didn’t forget to provoke him.

Mu An gave her a cool glance. "Want to have a little competition?"

"Bring it on." Lu Lu thought to herself, as if she’d be afraid of this skinny little new hire?

When Mu An was about to go, Ma Bin hurried over. "Kid, don’t show off."

"I know, Brother Ma." Mu An nodded.

Ma Bin saw her swing herself up onto a very tall horse and quickly sent someone to inform Gu Xiaozhan.
