Chapter 169: Hungry Angel
Noah’s POV
I wash my face one more time and look at myself in the mirror hanging over the washbasin. Huh...my cheeks are starting to look round.
I pat my cheek, fake smile at my reflection, and wince at the result. If my father’s wife was here, she would freak out about my weight. She would complain and say that I’m slacking, then she would send me to run laps around the temple.
’The temple...’ as my omega says those words, I straighten, and turn around abruptly.
"Nope. I am not thinking of that" I say out loud before returning to the bedroom. I sit on the edge of the bed to wait for Elias, but since I’m extra feeling antsy and super hungry, my legs start to bounce.
I don’t pride myself in lacking patience, but it’s my uncomfortable truth, I lack patience.
With a sigh, I take it upon myself to leave the room and walk the same halls I just walked through a few hours ago. I need a long, long nap, but first, I need to chew on something. Strawberry and pickles already sounds so nice, but what if there’s like cashew milk on the side...goddess, that addition sounds like heaven.
In my oversized clothes, pink fuzzy slippers, and messy hair, I keep walking with a goal and s purpose. I have no location, but I have hunger, an intense kind of hunger I have never felt before.
I take a turn and pause when I find Siren stretching on a yoga mat.
He’s an older man with three kids, yet he’s stretching. I’m the younger man with no kids, yet I’m hunting food like a caveman in the nineteen-hundreds. I know there were no cavemen in the nineteen-hundreds but it doesn’t change the intense shame that washes over me.
"Noah? Is everything okay?" Siren asks when he spots me, and my eyes instantly fill up with tears.
"I-I’m so hungry. I don’t know why I’m so hungry" I burst into an irrational sob out of embarrassment.
The older omega looks at me with an expression that can be translated as horror. He gets off the mat, closes the distance between us, and wraps his arms around me. He smells so soft.
"Elias would pay for keeping you hungry" Siren growls and I shake my head. "He gave me snacks last night and he’s gone to ask the maid for food, but I’m so so hungry" I say, sniffling and rubbing my fist against my eyes.
I feel so silly right now.
"That won’t do. Come with me" he says and takes my hand. I wipe my cheek as I follow him blindly. The omega’s movements are perfectly slow and confident while mine are jerky and messy. I’ve really lost all the elegance in me. It’s Elias’s fault.
Siren takes me to the door of his room and opens it.
"Done sulking, baby?" Darius Deus’s voice asks in a sultry tone and my cheeks grow hot. He’s sprawled out on the bed like he owns the world, I’m just grateful he’s clothed in a pair of pajamas that makes him look his age.
"Darius" Siren says in a warning tone and Darius lifts his head.
"For the love of everything insane, why is the kid in our room?" he sits up when he spots me standing next to his husband, and Siren lifts his chin.
"He’s hungry" he says.
"Let him go eat a burger or something. I’m trying to seduce you" Darius complains.
"I can come back..." I start to excuse myself but Siren grabs my hand.
"No" he says to me.
"You will make Noah’s food" he points at his husband with a stern look. Darius groans and tilts his head backwards in annoyance.
"It’s too early and I haven’t..." the alpha’s eyes dart to me, "...hugged you biologically yet" he completes his words and due to my years of watching forbidden movies, my brain supplies a very vivid image of what he means.
Oh Goddess.
"I can come back later..." I try to excuse myself again.
"If you make whatever Noah wants, I’ll let you live your breeding kink for two days" Siren says with a sigh, and my cheeks start to burn even hotter as Darius jumps out of bed.
"Why didn’t you say so earlier, my moon?" he asks in a sing-song tone and we leave their bedroom together. With how hard I’m blushing, I’m sure a smoke detector will go off soon. My parents have never displayed this sort of affection to each other before.
These two are shameless and so in love with each other that it makes me miss Elias. We keep walking and end up in a part of the mansion that I’ve never been to before. It’s a kitchen that doesn’t look like the main one. It’s smaller, cozier, and obviously lived in.
"What’s your order, Goldilocks?" Darius asks and I mumble it shyly.
"Lucky for you, I’m only blind in one eye and can hear with both ears..."
"Just tell him you didn’t hear what he said, Darius" Siren says with a sigh as he takes a stool and places it behind me.
"I didn’t hear what you said" Darius repeats his husband’s words with a grin that looks exactly like Damien’s.
"Strawberry shortcake, pickles on the side, and cashew milk..." I say out loud, voice growing smaller as I realize just how ridiculous my craving sounds. Oh boy. That is a weird combination.
"You heard what he said, right? I’m not going crazy am I?" Darius asks and Siren places a hand on my shoulder.
"No, Darius. You’re not crazy" the Deus clan Luna says softly as he looks at me with glossy eyes.
Is something wrong?
"Is...is everything okay? Did I do something wrong? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. I was just craving--" I start to babble and Darius lifts a finger.
"Shh, Goldilocks" he says, turning around to open the pantry. I lift my head to look at Siren’s face. The usually icy omega looks tender. He looks like that glowy woman in my dream this morning.
"You can do no wrong, precious" he says and hugs me to his chest.
The door is kicked open and Elias shows up right there with a tray of strawberry shortcake and pickles.
"I don’t appreciate every time you steal my husband, mother" my scowling alpha says with clear displeasure, and Siren releases a protective burst of his pheromones.
"I don’t appreciate every time I find my son-in-law upset, son" Siren says with the same amount of displeasure in his tone.
I shouldn’t find this funny...
"I don’t appreciate you bringing another chef’s food into my kitchen. Fuck off, Tobias" Darius says loudly, and I cup my mouth to hold back my laughter.
"I am not Tobias" Elias says flatly.
"I’m just letting you know that you will become unrecognizable when I’m done with you and that abomination. Get it out of my kitchen" Darius waves his hand and Elias grumbles something rude under his breath before leaving with the tray.
"You eat, you rest, and you live your best life with us, Noah. Do you understand?" Siren asks and I nod.
Again, just like I felt last time with him, my omega purrs with the comforting joy of being accepted into a pack by the Luna himself.
It’s safe to say...I feel full...fulfilled.
