Chapter 838 832: Elite-Level Lucario

"Lucario?"

Seeing Ethan's choice, Magnus frowned.

He had already released his trump card, Delphox, first.

And Ethan, even while having the opportunity to choose his Pokémon afterward, did not send out that Elite-level Melmetal.

Under those circumstances, wasn't that being too confident?

"Luucaarr!"

After coming out, Lucario turned its gaze toward the Delphox in front of it.

Through the power of aura, it could feel the powerful presence emanating from the opponent, and could not help nodding in satisfaction.

"I think this will be a spectacular battle."

At that moment, Ethan's gaze also turned toward Magnus. It was a response to the phrase he had said before.

"I hope so."

Magnus narrowed his eyes.

Then he directly gave the order:

"Delphox, use Flamethrower."

Delphox understood the order. It spun the magic wand in its hand and directly spat out a thick burst of flame.

"Lucario, Psychic."

Ethan also gave the order immediately.

Then they saw Lucario raise its hand, and its mental power condensed until it became almost material, directly launching forward.

Boom!

In the air, the two attacks collided.

Afterward, the move Flamethrower and the move Psychic dissipated together in the air.

Seeing this scene, the spectators were stunned.

Had a Fighting and Steel-type Lucario just used the move Psychic against a Psychic-type Delphox?

And moreover, Lucario's Psychic was unexpectedly strong, capable of blocking Delphox's attack head-on!

That made them, for a moment, have the illusion that they were watching a battle between two Psychic-type Pokémon.

"As expected, your Lucario is also very skilled with psychic powers. Then, Delphox, we'll also go all out. Use Mystical Fire!"

After a brief surprise, Magnus spoke again.

Immediately afterward, Delphox directly used the move that best combined its psychic powers and its flames.

In an instant, the power of the fire increased enormously. As the magic wand in Delphox's hand waved, it transformed into a sea of flames that swallowed Lucario.

"Lucario, we'll use Psychic with full force."

Hearing Ethan's words, Lucario nodded.

As it focused its gaze, materialized mental force condensed in its hand.

Immediately afterward, the power of the aura throughout its body was also mobilized and began to fuse with the mental force.

At the same time, a mysterious force could be seen flowing through Lucario's body, also integrating into the move Psychic.

Just as the sea of flames rushed in front of it, the move Psychic condensed by Lucario also shot out. The two attacks collided once more.

Then, under the surprised gazes of all the spectators, the move Psychic directly pierced through the sea of fire and headed toward Delphox, which was floating in the air.

Seeing it, Delphox once again spun the magic wand in its hand and launched the move Flamethrower fused with powerful mental force, intercepting the remains of the move Psychic.

"How is that possible?"

"Lucario's Psychic gained the advantage!"

The spectators looked at the scene open-mouthed, somewhat incredulous.

Delphox, a Psychic and Fire-type, had lost to Lucario in a duel of long-range moves!

"That Lucario... is also Elite level!"

The lord of the Battle Chateau watched Lucario face Delphox in the field and was also extremely surprised.

He had not expected that, besides Melmetal, Ethan really had another Elite-level Pokémon. Placed on a twenty-one-year-old young man, that was far too shocking!

"Good work, Lucario."

Seeing that Lucario could possess Elite-level strength without needing to megaevolve, Ethan nodded in satisfaction.

Although it seemed that Lucario had only used the move Psychic in a simple way, that move had fused the power of aura and life energy.

Fusing the power of aura with mental force to increase the power of its moves was something Lucario had mastered a long time ago.

And now, Lucario using life energy to strengthen the move Psychic precisely took advantage of the Life Orb's ability to increase the power of moves.

In addition, to research the Life Orb, Lucario had already used the move Skill Swap to temporarily turn its ability, Inner Focus, into the ability Sheer Force.

Just as Lucario could use its superior mental power and aura to make the move Copycat always copy the move Teleport, Lucario also mastered the ability to use the move Skill Swap to fix its ability onto a specific ability.

Therefore, the move Psychic executed by Lucario, in addition to the increase of aura power, also possessed the increase from the Life Orb and the Sheer Force ability.

Under multiple increases, the power of Lucario's moves directly pierced through the Elite level!

Boom, boom, boom!

In the next instant, the two Pokémon clashed again.

Both mastered powerful combat techniques.

Now that they were colliding, for a time there was no way to decide victory or defeat.

"I didn't expect the battle to reach this point."

"If Magnus wants to win, it seems he'll have to show something."

The lord of the Battle Chateau fixed his gaze on the giant screen while thinking to himself.

Just as that thought ended, they saw Delphox raise its hand and condense a large number of fireballs.

After forming, those fireballs floated directly toward different points of the field, vaguely following a certain rule.

"The move Will-O-Wisp?"

"What does it intend to do?"

Ethan narrowed his eyes, vaguely feeling something.

In the next instant, under his order, Lucario directly used the move Teleport, and its figure suddenly disappeared.

When it appeared again, Lucario had already arrived behind Delphox. The move Psychic condensed and launched directly toward Delphox.

But just as the move Psychic was about to hit Delphox, they saw Delphox's figure also suddenly disappear, leaving behind a burning flame in its place.

"The move Ally Switch!"

Seeing Delphox disappear, Ethan reacted immediately.

At the same time, they saw Delphox's figure appear behind Lucario, and a burst of flame enveloped it.

Lucario, caught off guard, was directly struck by the move Mystical Fire. Its figure flew out and fell heavily onto the ground.

"I was careless."

Ethan sighed to himself.

In his memories, Delphox could not use the move Teleport.

Therefore, he had not guarded against that play. He had not expected Delphox to achieve a similar effect through the move Ally Switch.

And those fireballs that filled the field were clearly fire coordinates, allowing Delphox to move freely throughout the entire field.

The move Ally Switch was similar to the move Teleport, but its consumption was much lower, and it could even be activated continuously. That made Delphox directly possess mobility superior to Lucario's!
