Chapter 88: Chapter 88: The Most Evil Gengar in the World!

"Gallade, Psycho Cut!"

Gallade swung his elbow blade, and a huge purple blade of light cut through the sky.

The purple fatty smiled wickedly and tried to turn invisible to dodge.

Only to discover that he could not turn invisible.

In panic, he could only raise his fist and cover it in pitch-black energy.

But the blade of light was too fast. It cut through his body.

It painfully opened his mouth and began continuously vomiting water.

Gengar was practically using Water Spout, his body flipping up and down in the air.

Julian and Gallade hurriedly retreated.

This scene was even more exaggerated than digging up a hot spring!

"It’s raining! Wife, did you bring the clothes in?"

"What rain?! That’s the trainer hired by the village chief subduing the evil ghosts! Tell me! Are you hoping I die so you can get a new wife?!"

"What are you saying? I love you the most! Come here, dear wife, kiss kiss."

People said Gengar had an extra dimension in it’s stomach.

Julian had been half-convinced before, but today, he fully believed it.

After all the water was spat out, the Ghost-type completed his slimming.

He turned into a regular sized Gengar.

Even though he could not turn invisible, the Gengar who had shed his burden fully showed Julian what it meant to be ghostly and unpredictable.

This Gengar did not seem to have the Cursed Body Ability.

He seemed more like he had Levitate.

Far too nimble.

He raised his hand and fired another Shadow Ball, striking the yellow earth that had already turned into mud. The mud and water were corroded and vanished together.

This Gengar was absolutely an experienced ghost!

Had those young people from Sweetwater Village accidentally broken Gengar’s seal?

"Gallade, Psycho Cut!"

After dodging another Shadow Ball, Gallade swung his hand and sent out a purple blade of light.

It laughed and flew backwards to dodge, suddenly righting itself.

What came slashing towards him head-on was Gallade’s elbow blade.

It directly sent Gengar flying out of the village.

Julian’s expression changed.

"Gallade, hurry and chase him. Don’t let him run!"

Gallade nodded and quickly tracked in the direction Gengar had been sent flying.

But after it returned to the shadows, the power of Foresight rapidly weakened.

By the time Gallade caught up and tried to use Foresight to search for him, Gengar had already hidden far away.

So what if he could not win?

Gengar directly chose not to fight Gallade.

In any case, he could keep living on. He could slowly play with these villagers.

Julian caught up with Gallade.

"Did you find Gengar?"

Gallade shook his head, his mood somewhat low.

Julian patted his shoulder.

"It’s fine. We’ll continue tomorrow night!"

After returning to the village chief’s home, Julian apologised.

"Sorry, village chief. My Pokémon attacked a little too heavily and sent Gengar flying, causing Gengar to hide in the shadows again."

The village chief waved his hand.

"As long as you drove it back, that’s good. At least tonight, everyone can sleep peacefully and won’t have to hear its vague kekeke laughter."

The auntie touched the basin.

"The noodles are still hot. Come eat."

Julian nodded.

"Okay."

After eating and drinking his fill, the village chief said, "I had my wife prepare rooms for the Gym Leader and your honoured sister. Please rest first."

Julian suddenly thought of something.

"Village chief, that pool the villagers dug open and provoked Gengar from — did you go back and look at it afterwards?"

The village chief quickly shook his head.

"That kind of place? Who would go back?"

Julian nodded slightly.

"I plan to take a look tomorrow. Village chief, could you arrange a guide for me?"

The village chief hurriedly said, "No problem. One of those little brats still hasn’t run off. Tomorrow, I’ll make him act as the Gym Leader’s guide."

...

When the young man heard that he had to return to the pool where the black demonic shadow had appeared, he shook his head repeatedly.

"I’m not going! I’ll die!"

His father directly pulled off a slipper and fiercely smacked his head with it.

"I’ll show you not going! I’ll show you not going! You brats caused this trouble, so you have to go and solve it!"

After receiving his father’s loving education, the young man quickly became deeply righteous.

"I’ll go!"

Julian smiled and nodded.

"A wise man submits to circumstances. Don’t worry. With me here, I’ll definitely ensure your safety."

They followed the river outside the village into the mountain, winding this way and that before arriving at a patch of mud.

The young man said in surprise, "This used to be a path we cleared out when we were young. How did it suddenly become mud?"

Julian frowned.

"Are there any other paths?"

The young man shook his head.

"I only know this one."

"Then we’ll walk."

After arduously reaching the pool, Julian discovered that there was no longer a pool here. Only a muddy pond remained.

A certain ghost was currently moving mud, trying to repair the gap in the muddy pond.

Upstream of the muddy pond, Julian could see the dam that had been blown open by Shadow Ball.

Julian asked in a low voice, "Back then, did you block the upstream and then dig open the pool downstream to drain the water?"

The young man nodded.

"We worked very hard to block the pool’s entrance, and we dug three openings to drain the water together."

Julian said coldly, "Then you were frightened by the suddenly appearing Gengar and directly turned around and ran, without digging open the dam you had blocked."

"Causing the originally beautiful pool to become this muddy ground? And ruining the downstream area by flooding it too?"

The young man was somewhat embarrassed.

"It seems... that really is what happened."

Julian nodded.

"I understand where the problem is now."

"Go back and have the village chief bring some strong labourers and tools. Tell them they’re going up the mountain to repair the river channel and the pool."

The young man nodded.

"I’ll go back now."

After the young man left, Julian directly walked out.

"Gengar, if we restore your home to its original state and sincerely apologise to you, I wonder if you can forgive the villagers?"

Hearing Julian’s words, Gengar dispersed the Shadow Ball in his hand.

He continued filling the gap with mud, but most of the mud he filled in would be washed away by the flowing water.

Gengar was so angry that he fired a Shadow Ball into the muddy pond.

Repairing his home during the day.

Going down the mountain at night to settle accounts with the humans.

"Because humans destroyed your home, you also want to retaliate against humans?"

Gengar nodded repeatedly.

He wanted humans to feel pain!

Kekekekeke!

Julian reached out and gently stroked the chubby ghost’s cheek.

"Gengar, you’re a good boy. Even though the villagers damaged your home this badly, you only punished them by drinking all the water in the village."

Gengar raised his head.

He was not a good boy.

He was the most evil Gengar in the whole world!

"I want to apologise to you for yesterday’s battle. Consider this my apology gift."

Julian took a bright red apple from his backpack and handed it to Gengar.

After Gengar accepted the apple, he looked at Julian, split the apple in half, and handed half to Julian.

Just as Gengar was about to eat his remaining half, a hand reached out.

Gengar froze for a moment, then split the half in his hand into two pieces again.

He handed Maylene a quarter.

Julian handed his half of the apple back to Gengar and said, "You eat my half. I’ll eat that quarter."

Gengar blankly accepted the apple and took a bite. For some reason, he felt that this apple was sweeter than any apple he had eaten before!

At this moment, the village chief hurried over with the villagers.

"Gym Leader Veyne, what do you need us to do?"

Julian explained, "The reason Gengar went to the village and caused trouble is because those boys destroyed Gengar’s home, this pool."

"As long as you restore the pool to its original state and offer one hundred apples as an apology gift, Gengar will no longer go to the village and cause trouble."

"Right, Gengar?"

Gengar tossed the remaining apple into his mouth and nodded with a kekeke laugh.

Hearing that familiar strange laugh, all the villagers shivered.

The village chief was still the firmest.

"All right. Start working."
