Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Arriving At New Island

Julian opened the envelope and took out the invitation inside.

A paper-thin projection device projected the image of a strangely dressed Miss Joy.

She first bowed, then began to speak.

"Please forgive this sudden invitation. Everyone here has been judged to be among the most promising Trainers, and so you are invited to participate in the strongest Pokémon Trainer tournament hosted by my master."

"The location is Pokémon Castle on New Island. If you are willing to attend, please tick the postcard inside the invitation."

"This is a tournament for the strongest Pokémon Trainers. We sincerely hope you will attend."

The Miss Joy in the projection lifted her skirt and bowed.

The projection ended, and Julian took out the postcard.

"Everyone, do you think we should go participate?"

Cynthia smiled faintly.

"The strongest Pokémon Trainer tournament. That’s quite the claim. I’d like to see exactly how strong they are."

The person holding this kind of tournament either had ulterior motives, or believed they themselves were the strongest Pokémon Trainer.

Either way, it was worth taking a look.

Ash was extremely excited.

"If it’s a tournament for the strongest Pokémon Trainers, then there’ll definitely be lots of powerful Trainers participating!"

"I want to go!"

Paul looked Dragonite over.

"Using Dragonite as a messenger. This person really isn’t simple. But don’t you think there’s something wrong here?"

Maylene excitedly waved her fist.

"There are so many strong Trainers here. Even if it really is a scheme, we can just ruin their plan along the way!"

"We’ll treat it as doing the right thing!"

Paul shook his head. There was simply no communicating with reckless people like Maylene and Ash.

As for Brock, he had already been completely captivated by Miss Joy’s beauty.

"Miss Joy~ Miss Joy~"

As for Misty, she had no objections and would follow everyone else.

Julian ticked the box for attending, placed the postcard back into the envelope, and handed it to Dragonite.

Dragonite placed the envelope into its satchel, flapped its wings, and shot into the sky.

After Dragonite left, Cynthia examined the surroundings.

A faint blue light flashed in Julian’s eyes.

"I checked with Aura. There’s no problem."

Cynthia lowered her voice and said, "The person who invited us just now was a Miss Joy, wasn’t she?"

Brock had been entranced by her beauty earlier. Now, hearing Cynthia’s words, he recalled the maid’s appearance.

His expression became uncertain.

"She did... seem like a Miss Joy."

Julian nodded in agreement.

"Judging by her eyes, she should be under Hypnosis. Once we reach New Island and meet her in person, we’ll know whether she’s okay."

"For now, let’s go to Old Coast Pier and see what method we can use to reach New Island."

Cynthia looked towards the flying car.

"How about we take the airship to New Island?"

Julian shook his head.

"The airship is too large a target. If the other side really has ulterior motives, it could easily become their first target."

Even if Caitlin would not feel heartache over such a high-end airship being damaged, Julian believed she would still feel the loss.

Cynthia nodded in agreement.

"Then I’ll explain the situation to Caitlin."

After learning that Julian and Cynthia had run into something this interesting, Caitlin clamoured to go along too.

Darach frowned slightly. In truth, he did not really want to participate in a potentially risky adventure.

But Caitlin wanted to go, and Darach thought of Cynthia being there.

Julian’s strength was also not bad.

They could go and take a look this time.

Darach nodded, and Caitlin jumped excitedly.

"This time, you’ll witness the power of Caitlin, the nemesis of evil!"

Although they could not take the airship to New Island, they could take the flying car.

But before they even approached the pier, a storm began pouring from the sky.

In weather like this, the flying car definitely could not make it through.

Darach and Cynthia parked the flying car in a safe parking space.

After getting out, he opened an umbrella for Caitlin and said, "It seems we need to consider how to cross these waves."

"Let’s first ask at the waiting room over there. Though in this weather, I doubt any boat will be willing to head to New Island."

Holding umbrellas, the group entered the waiting room.

It was full of Trainers and Pokémon. From the looks of it, they had all received invitations and come to participate in this so-called strongest Pokémon Trainer tournament.

The pier manager and Officer Jenny appeared, and the crowd immediately surrounded them.

"When will there be a boat? We still need to go to New Island to compete for the title of strongest Trainer!"

The manager shrugged.

"The sea has already told us that now is not the time to set out. I’m sure you’ve all seen what the weather outside is like."

Officer Jenny said sternly, "Miss Joy from the Pokémon Centre has gone missing. If anyone is injured, there will be no one to treat you."

"With weather like this, your Pokémon could be seriously injured, or even killed!"

A burly man stepped forward.

"My Pokémon are excellent swimmers. Leave it to me. We’ll definitely pass through the waves safely!"

One Trainer after another bypassed the manager and Officer Jenny and walked out of the waiting room.

They released their Pokémon one after another and advanced towards the stormy sea.

Julian glanced at the missing-person notice for Miss Joy on the wall.

Cynthia narrowed her eyes.

"It seems that person really was a Miss Joy. Choosing to kidnap her for help means the person behind this probably doesn’t have many people under them."

Darach looked at the sea.

"Lady Caitlin, since there is no suitable way to cross the sea, it seems we won’t be able to join this adventure."

Cynthia shrugged.

"I can ride Garchomp. Togekiss can carry one person too."

Julian looked at Maylene.

"Maylene, you’ll ride Miraidon with me."

Caitlin glared at Darach with puffed cheeks.

"Come on. You have a Pokémon good at crossing the sea. Hurry up and bring it out!"

Darach sighed helplessly.

"I didn’t expect we would actually use it."

Darach took out a Poké Ball and released a huge Wailord.

The seemingly enormous waves were completely unable to shake Wailord’s body.

Ash was extremely surprised.

"What a huge Pokémon. It feels like even twice as many people could sit on it."

Julian released Miraidon, and Cynthia released Garchomp.

Ash and the others were visibly taken aback by the sheer presence of the two Pokémon.

"Just in case, we’ll ride other Pokémon and advance together. If anyone accidentally falls into the water, Cynthia and I will handle the rescue."

Paul released a Cloyster.

"I want to try crossing this sea on my own. If I fail, Julian, please help pull me out."

Julian nodded.

"No problem. Young people should be brave enough to challenge themselves."

Maylene also released Poliwhirl.

"Brother, I want to challenge it too!"

Julian glared directly at her.

"Get on Wailord right now."

Maylene stubbornly glared back.

"Hmph! Fine, I won’t go!"

Paul set off riding Cloyster. Ash simply released Squirtle.

"I’m going too!"

Squirtle was a little small, but during several disasters at sea, Squirtle had helped Ash escape trouble.

Misty hurriedly said, "Ash, now isn’t the time to show off!"

Julian smiled faintly.

"It’s fine. I’ll keep an eye on those two. With Wailord as a floating island on the sea, their lives won’t be in danger."

Julian and Cynthia guarded Wailord on the left and right as it moved forward.

Julian used Aura to monitor Paul and Ash.

Aside from swallowing a few mouthfuls of seawater, they used the calmer conditions underwater to dive through the storm and had no major issues.

Wailord’s body shone with a blue water curtain, keeping the wind and rain outside.

Julian raised an eyebrow.

Darach’s strength might be even greater than he had thought.

Very soon, the group successfully crossed through the storm and arrived at New Island’s pier.

Miss Joy was waiting for them there.
