Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Professor Rowan Is A Genius!

A/N:3/6 Bonus Chapters

-----------------------

Julian shook his head and did not plan to dwell on the matter of the Sada robot.

Who knew how many Paradox Pokémon summoned by robots were now filling the interior of Area Zero?

No wonder both he and Cynthia had felt that the central area of Area Zero was filled with danger.

It made them not want to approach.

Cynthia excitedly handed the illustrated book in her hand to Julian.

"Julian, so the purple giant lizard you caught is called Miraidon. The ancient Paldeans called it the Iron Serpent!"

"Legend says Miraidon once used lightning to turn the land to ash. That’s quite similar to the Miraidon that schemed against us."

Cynthia raised an eyebrow.

"It’s just that his strength is still a little lacking. Compared to the legend, he’s still some way off."

Julian patted Miraidon’s head and smiled.

"Work hard and aim to reach the level described in the legends."

Miraidon happily wagged his tail.

He would definitely train hard!

After being beaten by Koraidon, combined with the newest Pokémon food Julian had developed for him, Miraidon’s strength really had risen.

Julian actually understood some of Miraidon’s thoughts.

Increasing strength by being beaten by Koraidon could not be called wrong.

But it was not completely right either.

Miraidon was exceptionally talented, and enormous potential was hidden inside his body.

Fighting did stimulate some of his potential.

But if he wanted to become stronger, the most important thing was changing Miraidon’s mindset.

He was too lazy, causing him to always want shortcuts.

For an intelligent mind, repetitive training seemed extremely boring.

Even in battle, Miraidon was too smart. He feared pain, feared injury, and even feared losing or being embarrassed.

On the contrary, Pokémon with simpler thinking could improve more through training and battle.

"Food’s ready. Let’s eat!"

Miraidon excitedly jumped up and down.

It was time for his favourite part of every day.

Training was boring. Battle was painful. Only eating was carefree.

...

At noon the next day, after a long journey, the two finally returned to the entrance.

Once they reached the entrance of the crater, Julian took a Luxury Ball out of his backpack.

He handed it to Miraidon.

"Go in."

Without hesitation, Miraidon stretched out a claw and tapped the Luxury Ball.

He was immediately absorbed inside without struggling.

Miraidon was different from other Pokémon. If the Poké Ball’s space was not large enough, Miraidon would probably make trouble.

Letting Miraidon live comfortably would make it easier to make him suffer more during training.

After leaving the entrance, their phones regained signal.

Julian immediately called Professor Rowan.

When Professor Rowan answered the call, he finally let out a breath of relief.

"Are you two alright?"

Julian smiled and answered, "The Great Crater of Paldea really was somewhat dangerous, so we didn’t find Annihilape. However, we did find eight Primeape."

"The Paldean Primeape really are different. They can all use Rage Fist. We collected almost a week’s worth of data on Paldean Primeape training Rage Fist."

"Including my own Primeape, who also mastered the method of using Rage Fist while training in the Great Crater of Paldea."

"I think the data from two different kinds of Primeape should be useful for you developing a universal manual for Rage Fist, Professor?"

Professor Rowan smiled confidently.

"You actually collected this much data. In that case, developing a universal Rage Fist manual should be no problem."

Julian raised an eyebrow.

"You can develop it with just this amount of data?"

Cynthia smiled.

"This is the greatest Pokémon Professor in our Sinnoh region. As long as he has the data, developing a method to use Rage Fist is completely within reach!"

Professor Rowan smiled and said, "After you descend the mountain, send the data to me. Perhaps by the time you return, I’ll already have developed Rage Fist."

"When that happens, let your Primeape test the effect of the Rage Fist I develop. Perhaps it’ll make your Primeape evolve."

Julian smiled and nodded.

"That would be excellent!"

The two descended the mountain and arrived at Zapapico, heading straight for the local restaurant with the best reputation.

Food!

Although Julian’s cooking was excellent, sometimes, he still needed to taste the skills of other outstanding chefs.

Besides, Paldean cuisine had its own unique flavour. Many local Pokémon related to food had allowed Paldea to produce many high-quality ingredients.

As everyone knew, high-end ingredients often only needed simple cooking methods.

But high-end ingredients, paired with high-end cooking methods, would taste even better.

People said that the best chefs only needed simple ingredients to make delicious dishes.

After eating, Julian did not return to the hotel to train.

Instead, he went to the local market, planning to buy some ingredients to bring back.

He wanted Professor Rowan and the others to properly experience Paldean cuisine as a thank you.

...

After resting overnight and shaking off their fatigue, the two took a plane back to Jubilife City.

Then they rushed straight back to Professor Rowan’s laboratory.

Julian wanted to see whether Professor Rowan could really develop the Rage Fist manual in such a short time.

From Cynthia returning to the hotel and transmitting the data to Professor Rowan, it had been less than forty-eight hours in total.

After excluding all the miscellaneous time, Professor Rowan’s actual research time could not have been more than half of that.

"Professor, we’re back!"

Yuzo came forward with a grin.

"You two, did you catch any interesting Pokémon in Paldea?"

Julian shrugged.

"I only caught an Electric & Dragon-type, but he’s quite interesting. He’s practically a natural-born mount."

"It can sprint, float across water, fly, and battle!"

Yuzo blinked in confusion.

"Ampharos in Paldea can do all that?"

Julian took out the Poké Ball and released Miraidon.

"An Electric-type dragon. Not Ampharos."

Yuzo bent down.

"To catch such a beautiful dragon, Julian, your luck is pretty good."

Yuzo stretched out his hand, wanting to touch him.

Miraidon opened his mouth and made a biting motion.

Yuzo immediately withdrew his hand.

"Still quite fierce!"

Professor Rowan walked out and handed a file to Julian.

"Julian, take a look. How effective is this Rage Fist method I designed?"

Julian’s eyes widened.

"You really made it? You really are the greatest Pokémon Professor in Sinnoh!"

Yuzo also cooperated with Julian and praised Professor Rowan together.

"Of course! And from the data you sent back, the Professor only used less than eight hours to create this manual!"

Professor Rowan waved his hand.

"This is nothing. It’s only the first version. I still need to invite other Primeape Trainers to the laboratory."

"We’ll see whether their Primeape can learn the Rage Fist manual I developed."

Professor Rowan stroked his beard.

"Once there is more data, I can try developing a Rage Fist Move Disc."

Julian opened the manual and looked.

He discovered that Professor Rowan had optimised Rage Fist’s soul-training effect, reduced its attack power, and lowered the increase in Rage Fist’s power after being hit.

According to the current manual’s calculations, the risk of using the seventh punch had dropped significantly.

"Let Primeape try the new manual first and see how effective it is..."
