Officer Jenny was also somewhat curious.

"Gym Leader Veyne, how did you know Veilstone City suddenly had an abandoned Salandit?"

Julian smiled and said, "It was because of this little fellow. Eevee secretly ran out of the Gym, and when he came back, I discovered that he had been stained with black ash."

"This kind of black ash only appears on certain Fire-type Pokémon. Generally, only Pokémon that live near volcanoes can produce similar black ash."

"A stray Fire-type Pokémon had appeared in the city and had just fought a group of wild Pokémon."

"I quickly judged that such a Pokémon would become an unstable factor."

Officer Jenny widened her eyes in shock.

"Gym Leader Veyne, you really are suited to being a police officer. I should give you my position!"

Julian shook his head.

"I only made this judgment because my Pokémon knowledge is fairly solid, and I understand the characteristics and habits of Pokémon."

"I’m only good at dealing with Pokémon. As for catching criminals, Officer Jenny is much better at that."

She nodded in understanding.

"I’ll call Nurse Joy."

After receiving Officer Jenny’s call, Nurse Joy immediately began searching.

She really did remember a Trainer who had Salandit and quickly checked the computer.

Before long, she locked onto the person’s information and said to Officer Jenny, "It’s Aiden from Eterna City. According to Aiden, that Salandit was a prize he won at the Veilstone Game Corner."

"Because he didn’t understand Salandit’s information, he specifically came to the Pokémon Centre to check. But the Pokémon Centre doesn’t have much information about Salandit either."

"Because of that, he specifically asked me about Salandit, so I told him the information I knew. After listening, he seemed somewhat disappointed."

Julian narrowed his eyes. He had not expected to hear Aiden’s name here.

That guy is actually still in Veilstone City?

Julian looked at the phone.

"Nurse Joy, what information did you tell Aiden?"

After thinking back, Nurse Joy said, "I remember telling him that Salandit live in groups, and male Salandit collectively provide for the female Salandit in the group."

"Because they offer food to the female Salandit, male Salandit become malnourished and lose the ability to evolve."

Julian nodded.

"Then was the Salandit Aiden obtained female or male?"

Nurse Joy immediately checked the information left behind from her examination of Salandit.

"It was male!"

Light burst from Officer Jenny’s eyes.

"So, because Salandit couldn’t evolve, he abandoned Salandit?"

"And he was aware that Salandit is an Alolan Pokémon?"

Nurse Joy answered, "That’s right. When I explained it, I clearly told Aiden that Salandit is an Alolan Pokémon."

This was not youthful ignorance. This was knowingly breaking the law.

If he had not known which region Salandit came from, Aiden’s release behaviour would only require verbal education.

But multiple pieces of evidence proved that Aiden had knowingly committed the offence.

Then he needed to be arrested, locked up, and made to reflect on his mistake.

Officer Jenny saluted Julian.

"Thank you, Gym Leader Veyne. I’m going to arrest him now. Like you said, catching people really is what I’m better at."

"That brat won’t get away!"

Julian nodded.

"I’ll leave it to you, Officer Jenny."

After Officer Jenny left, Julian shook his head.

This kind of impatient, profit-chasing person...

Julian had not even made a move, yet Aiden had already destroyed himself.

Mr Brook walked over.

"The Trainer who released Salandit is that guy who planned to target you last time, right?"

Julian nodded.

"It’s him. But I haven’t heard anything from him for a long time. He probably saw my performance in the Veilstone Department Store tournament, became afraid, and gave up on his own."

Mr Brook nodded.

"I also helped you ask the old regulars nearby about him. He really hasn’t appeared around Veilstone Gym for quite a while."

"I thought he had run away. I didn’t expect him to cause something like this. Serves him right!"

He lowered his head and noticed Salandit standing obediently in place after filling its stomach.

He was startled.

"Julian, Officer Jenny forgot to take this fellow away!"

Julian shrugged.

"I’ll take Salandit to the Pokémon Centre. Handing it to Officer Jenny would also just mean sending it to Nurse Joy to settle."

Aiden was currently at the Veilstone Game Corner, planning to win a grand prize more valuable than Salandit.

He had originally planned to leave, but he happened to hear the Game Corner advertising that it would soon transport back a batch of powerful and rare Pokémon from other regions.

If Trainers could obtain help from these Pokémon, they would be unstoppable in the regional conference.

This time, the Veilstone Game Corner’s movements were bigger than every previous year!

If you missed this opportunity, you would regret it for the rest of your life!

As soon as that advertising line came out, Aiden’s head heated up and he ran straight to the Veilstone Game Corner.

After spending quite a lot of money, he finally won a Salandit with great difficulty.

In the end, it was still a male that could not evolve. So angry that after walking out of the Pokémon Centre, Aiden directly found an alley and released Salandit.

Then he returned to the Veilstone Game Corner, planning to win the ultimate grand prize!

In truth, the Veilstone Game Corner’s original ultimate grand prize had been Julian’s Gallade.

But after Cyrus gave Gallade to Julian, the Game Corner could only adjust the grand prize.

It had been changed to another well-trained Scizor.

Aiden was battling hard in front of a game machine when he suddenly heard a cold voice behind him.

"You are Aiden from Eterna City, correct?"

Aiden turned back. Seeing that it was Officer Jenny, he nervously stood up at once.

"Officer Jenny, is... is something wrong?"

"We are handling a case related to Salandit. May I ask whether your Salandit is still with you?"

Aiden pretended to check his belt, then looked anxiously at Officer Jenny.

"Oh no, Officer Jenny! My Salandit was stolen!"

"You need to hurry and help me find it!"

Officer Jenny sneered.

Trying this in front of me?

Do you take me for a fool?

Anyone could tell he was pretending.

"Please come back to the police station with us to assist the investigation."

Officer Jenny suddenly remembered that she had been so focused on arresting Aiden that she seemed to have forgotten to bring Salandit along.

After putting Aiden into the sidecar, she drove back to Mr Brook’s barbecue shop.

Seeing Officer Jenny, he immediately understood why she had returned.

"Officer Jenny, Julian took that Pokémon to the Pokémon Centre."

Officer Jenny drove towards the Pokémon Centre again and ran into Julian halfway there.

The Salandit by Julian’s feet immediately became agitated after seeing Aiden.

Flames emerged from its mouth, and it wanted to hit Aiden with them.

Julian frowned.

"Salandit, stop."

Aiden stared at Julian with venomous resentment.

"Julian Veyne, so it was you who framed me!"

He then looked at Officer Jenny.

"You’re the police chief of Veilstone City, and you’re helping the Gym Leader arrest an innocent Trainer like me!"

"I’m going to appeal! I’ll report this to the Sinnoh League! Just wait to be fired!"

Officer Jenny snorted coldly.

"Salandit, the party involved, has already proven that you illegally abandoned it!"

"I’m arresting you because I should! You should be grateful that Gym Leader Veyne discovered Salandit in time and that it didn’t cause serious damage. Otherwise, the consequences awaiting you would be even more severe!"

Julian had originally only wanted to do one good deed for the day.

He had not expected to help himself remove a hidden danger.
