Chapter 1480: Chapter 482: En Route to Atlanta_2
But delivering the equipment now, isn’t that a bit too much disregard for the European Community?
Family Joy saw them like this and casually explained,
"Several factories signed hedge agreements with West Fire Grass’s investment bank using collateral assets. After the European Community was defeated, they lost a large number of orders and have already gone bankrupt. Now, their factories and workers all belong to West Fire Grass. Once the paperwork and finishing touches are completed, they can be smuggled over."
"Wow!"
Brother Ni didn’t know what to say, just acknowledged that this is truly capitalism at its finest, and of course, it’s you.
Eager to blow each other’s brains out one moment, and then selling such important equipment to an enemy state the next, even selling the workers too—one has to say, they’re steadfastly pursuing the capitalist path and have certainly gone far in studying Hayek’s free market spirit.
"What do you mean by the new equipment with superconductive materials?"
The Wildman on the side swiftly caught the underlying meaning in Family Joy’s words,
"Are you referring to the electromagnetic rifles or something?"
Brother Ni waved his hand,
"What technology is there in electromagnetic rifles? It’s just regular gear; I’ve seized dozens of them. It must be something new."
Family Joy didn’t answer, purposefully leaving them in suspense,
"You’ll find out then; it’s good stuff, and Wildman, you should be quite familiar."
"Familiar? Could it be the Artificial Body King Kong?"
"Some relation, but not much; it’s individual equipment rather than power armor, probably rated as at least purple-level weaponry, with very high power."
"Really...."
Brother Ni was about to ask if it was true when they obtained the Artificial Body King Kong technology from Huang Ban when a highlighter exclamation mark suddenly flashed before his eyes.
New mission available
[Special Mission: The Sin and Punishment of Sodom]
[Mission Background: Remember the AI Frederick that was defeated earlier? We found some interesting information in its database, showing that there’s a secret underground gathering in Georgia on the West Coast where they have traded nuclear-grade enriched uranium with rogue AIs]
[Furthermore, we have strong intelligence supporting the claim that this gathering has some links to a religion that once appeared in Night City, deeply hiding unimaginable sins. I think it might interest you]
[Mission Introduction: This is a special mission. You will form a team with several designated players and NPCs to conduct an in-depth investigation in Atlanta, Georgia, to gather evidence of crimes there]
[No matter their identity, all sins will ultimately face justice]
[Mission Reward: Heretic Judgment Badge (Gold) *1, Guardian of Civilization Title (Gold), Assassin’s Creed Set (Gold) *1, 50,000 Orokin]
[PS: This mission is extremely dangerous; scenes may touch on sensitive issues, requiring a high level of psychological resilience from participants. If uncomfortable, you may abandon at any time. Absolute secrecy is required; revealing it is tantamount to forfeiting the mission]
Niko’s breath started to quicken as his eyes lingered on the rewards section, hardly able to tear his gaze away.
Set reward
Currently, the only person to receive a set from official mission rewards is the guy Wheelchair Sprint who got incredibly lucky.
Cuban Revolutionary Set, comprising full-body augmentations, including the Fist of Bolivar (right arm), Guevara’s Gaze (cyber-eye), and a golden weapon [Castro’s Cigar] pistol, all with explosive stats and effects, especially the Cigar, firing plasma bullets, capable of blasting a hole through the frontal armor of an armored vehicle.
Others are also purple equipment above average in value, and their names are ridiculously cool.
These were all gear drawn by Lin Miao, and with a costly appearance mod, if Wheelchair Sprint could master these augmentations and raise his combat level, he wouldn’t be any weaker than those top-ranked mercenaries in Night City.
Other players went almost mad with jealousy seeing these, especially those visibly wealthy individuals who have been sticking to Wheelchair Sprint all day since his revival, pleading to purchase the set at high prices, openly offering in seven figures with no upper limit.
And his own set—significantly superior to theirs—presumably all gold, and the name just delighted him. It’s like dancing on his personal excitement chart.
Instantly, he couldn’t help but gasp.
"Hiss~~"
As for the later added PS line, Brother Ni didn’t care at all. Nothing could be more intense than what he’d seen under Night City, right?
No big deal~
At this point, Brother Ni’s odd behavior caught the attention of others.
"What are you looking at?"
The Wildman looked at Brother Ni, who had suddenly stopped speaking, his eyes red, breathing heavily, as if possessed by some demon.
"I..."
Brother Ni hesitated for a moment—this mission was prohibited from being disclosed; he couldn’t tell Wildman and the others. Though it felt to some extent unfair to them, he could only say,
"What’s new? Wheelchair Sprint, that annoying guy, is showing off his gear on the forums again."
The Wildman empathized,
"That guy needs a thrashing, worse than I was flaunting it while wearing Artificial Body King Kong."
But he also sensed that Brother Ni had something he couldn’t conveniently disclose, yet the Wildman didn’t press further.
"You go do what you need to do; I and the others still have to tally loot to settle the accounts for everyone."
"Alright."
After giving them a grateful look, Brother Ni accepted the mission.
After accepting the mission, Brother Ni received a team member list, and the avatar in the captain’s column was blacked out, adding a bit of mystery, while the other members Brother Ni was familiar with—mainly top players now with very strong capabilities.
