Chapter 1465: Chapter 477: Scattered Like Birds and Beasts (Part 2)
The European Space Agency is still unreachable, and there is no way to connect to the satellite array to see what’s happening in Near-Earth Orbit.
This helplessness of watching Soldiers and the entire ship head to Hell almost empties his heart.
This hellish scene makes Morrison’s eyes nearly explode with rage.
He swears, if he finds out who’s behind this sabotage, he’ll haunt that guy as a ghost even if he’s dead!
He wants to use a nuclear missile...
Morrison’s gaze darkens.
"Nuclear missile! Yes! I still have a nuclear missile!"
Rather than meeting failure here and returning to the European Community with a rundown ship to face reckoning, it’s better to die here, to die in Cuba as a martyr.
After my death, I don’t care if the flood comes, if I can take half of Berlin’s top brass with me, then Morrison feels his death would be worth it.
Having understood this, Morrison ignores the crowd below and hysterically shouts.
"Launch them, fire all our missiles, including the nuclear missile! Target Pig Bay and all Horizon Mercenaries’ gathering spots!"
The technicians downstairs witness the captain’s furious and hair-raising expression and are momentarily terrified. A few panic and run to the launch platform to operate it, but are stunned upon seeing the red warning on the screen.
"General... the vertical missile silo... has been hit, many hatches are jammed, if we launch missiles, we’ll blow ourselves up."
"Hmm...."
Upon hearing this news, Morrison’s throat clenches, nearly causing him to spit blood.
He now deeply regrets why he listened to that guy’s bluster, throwing the nuclear missile down early, so what if Berlin got blown up?
At worst, eliminate everyone present, which would be better than having his ship scrapped!
Indecision leads to disaster.
But fortunately, I still have teammates, their ships also have nuclear missiles!
Embracing a do-or-die attitude, Morrison tidies up his clothes, conceals his disheveled look, and with a last semblance of dignity contacts the captains of Valmy’s eight fleet to convene a collective meeting.
Quickly, the captains stationed around the surrounding sea for defense and patrol entered the meeting, having just received news from Bermuda, their expressions somewhat tense.
After all, even Hood was lost, leaving them no choice but to be cautious, although these warships are supposedly managed by the European Space Agency, they are actually the flagship of various national security enterprises, and invaluable.
The war has already begun to develop in unpredictable directions, and none want to become the next victim.
Morrison suppresses his painful heart, preventing the overwhelming hatred from erupting, and almost gritting his teeth says
"Ladies and gentlemen, the situation is urgent, we must quickly eliminate all Horizon Mercenaries inside Cuba and end this war."
Olson, who has been here the longest, deeply empathizes
"Right, we can’t delay any longer."
He wishes to fly back to Europe immediately, not wanting to stay another second in this damned place.
The Swiss captain of the Visby is also speechless
"You make it sound easy, if we could easily eliminate those pests, would we still be fighting till today?"
Various national security isn’t just about deploying a warship, but also quite a few infantry. Over these days, the infantry losses have been considerable too.
After contributing so much, to go back to Europe empty-handed and humiliated, no matter how later public opinion tries to cover it up, it can’t change the fact that this is a meaningless war.
"Then use the nuclear missile!"
Morrison’s face suddenly turns terrifyingly dark
"Gather all the nuclear weapons and biological weapons we have, eradicate all their living forces in a single strike, then quickly sweep away remaining troops to end this war."
According to his expectations, the captains should agree to his request without hesitation.
After all, at this point, it’s not about individual triumphs or defeats, it’s a scenario of shared successes and failures.
But what Morrison didn’t expect was that the previously indignant captains now suddenly quieted down and said nothing.
Seeing their expressions, Morrison silently thinks something’s wrong in his heart
"What do you mean?"
"Alas...."
Orte says helplessly
"Morrison, I’d love to do that too, but I’ve received some very bad news."
The other captains hear this and start to stir, their expressions peculiar
Morrison takes a deep breath and trembles as he asks
"What news?"
Orte shakes his head and says
"They have planted a nuclear missile in London, if I launch our nuclear missiles, they’ll immediately detonate London."
"What? They’ve planted a nuclear missile in London too?"
"I also received a similar message, but that guy said the nuclear missile was placed in Bern."
"He told me the nuclear missile was placed in Lisbon."
"Do you have a recording?"
"I also have it saved."
After comparing, the captains are shocked to discover the person negotiating with them is the same one.
That guy used the same method to threaten everyone over several days, but everyone didn’t disclose this information due to pride.
Though disclosing doesn’t affect the final outcome.
"He’s bluffing!"
Morrison growls
"That guy doesn’t have the capability to plant nuclear missiles in Europe, the European Community’s security forces haven’t found any nuclear weapons! He’s deliberately using this method to threaten you!"
Everyone looks at each other, finally Orte speaks up
