Chapter 1461: Chapter 476: I Am a Guardian—I Will Protect My Enemies and Strike My Allies

With a loud clang, the magnetic shoes clamped tightly onto the cold deck.

After sacrificing the lives of four players, the remaining eight-member squad, including Masked Rider, finally reached the second-floor outer corridor of Carlwila from the side armor. This is the place for the soldiers to air out, and above them is the landing gear deck.

Feeling the gravity perpendicular to themselves, the players barely had time to be happy before drones surrounded them again, and bullets rained down on them relentlessly.

Since landing on the side armor, they had been continuously attacked by these drones, and the four sacrificed players were mostly shot down by them.

Dragonback Cavalry’s shotgun roared, and the electromagnetic pellets it fired at close range formed a metal storm, blowing the nearest three drones apart, and then he shouted

"You breach the door, I’ll cover!"

Besides these drones, a large number of soldiers were racing down the internal corridor. The sound of their footsteps was audible even through the tightly shut gate.

Mechanic Vegeta, wearing the MT-4, rushed to the gate. His massive exoskeleton almost occupied the entire corridor by himself. Flexible mechanical arms on his back selected breaching explosives from the arsenal and began installation.

No matter how accurate Dragonback Cavalry’s shooting was, no matter how many drones he shot down, there was always an endless stream of replacements filling the firepower net, endlessly pouring from Carlwila’s front end.

The high-speed depleted uranium projectiles fired by these drones could easily pierce even bulletproof prosthetics.

Seeing Dragonback Cavalry almost at his limit, Masked Rider and Reznov immediately teamed up to form a firepower net to counter.

The rotary machine gun on Reznov’s exoskeleton roared like tearing cloth, sweeping the sky with a dense barrage, shredding all drones attempting a frontal assault into scrap, creating an iron rain over the sea.

He also complained on the channel: "Why are there so many? Can’t a hacker just take them all down?"

Players used to suppress others with drones, when did others start using drones to suppress them?

With rich combat experience, Masked Rider said

"Can’t hack them, haven’t you noticed how rigid their flight patterns are?"

"What do you mean?"

"They are all operating according to preset programs, not networked, can’t hack them, probably scared by our hackers."

"And even if they were networked, we wouldn’t be able to do it. The hackers and website AI are invading the European Space Agency, no extra hands to help us."

"Damn!"

In such an intense battlefield, only they could chat idly.

"Breaching explosives installed! Ready to breach!"

Vegeta retreated from the door and activated the explosives, while the others hurried to find cover.

A blinding white light emitted from the gate.

With a boom, hot waves, white smoke, and metal fragments surged back and forth, followed by a series of muffled explosions from the internal corridor.

When the smoke cleared, the five-inch-thick metal gate had a bowl-sized hole melted into it, and the corridor behind was pitch black from the breaching explosives, with Swedish soldiers ambushed at the door blown to smithereens.

Vegeta moved forward, inserting his hands into the hole opening, leveraging nearly ten tons of arm strength to forcibly pry open the closed gate.

The blasted passage inside was an abyss of darkness. Masked Rider, stepping in, activated the night vision in his helmet, the huge roar of the airship engines now sounding like the heavy heartbeat of a giant beast.

He calmly said

"Vegeta, scan the internal environment and establish a mini-map, we’re preparing directional blasting downwards. Cavalrymen, you follow me for the vanguard."

Behind lay the burning drone graveyard, ahead was a deeper steel maze, hiding countless unknown threats, yet none could halt the players’ advance.

This wasn’t the end’s beginning, not even the beginning’s end.

The Hood, fallen on the sea far away, was merely the first sacrifice in this war.

"Move!"

————

"What! The Hood was sunk by a single shot?"

When the news of the Bermuda naval battle reached Morrison, he didn’t feel good at all.

Bam!

The cup filled with coffee smashed to the ground, brown coffee splattered with white fragments like his current mindset.

Ruined!

His good mood from mocking Horizon Mercenaries by the coast vanished in an instant.

MLGBD, why are these Italians so proficient solely at hitting allies?

"What were the United Fleet’s escorts doing! How did they let such a big vessel in unobstructed?"

Only Cavendish dared to answer

"The United Fleet has already sunk the Pola, now clearing the remaining enemies, how the opponent slipped through the defense line is still under investigation."

"Is what you’re saying helpful now!"

Gripping his teeth, Morrison knew the Pola was already accounted for in the battle losses. Adding another Hood, when the news returned to the United Kingdom, it might cause the European Community to split directly.

"Deploy rescue for the remaining Hood crew immediately, save whoever can be saved!"

There were over three thousand people on the Hood, and if they all perished, the UK would be infuriated.

Cavendish said

"Yes, I’m immediately contacting other fleets to organize an aerial rescue team."

But Morrison’s mood didn’t improve a bit, he just wanted to tear Horizon Mercenaries apart, especially the guy who had previously threatened him.
