Players Invade Cyberpunk
Chapter 1460 - 475: Sky and Sea Battle_3
Chapter 1460: Chapter 475: Sky and Sea Battle_3
The captain truly didn’t believe this group of people had any special powers, they had plenty of soldiers onboard, and with the lessons from last time, there was no way they would give Horizon Mercenaries a second chance.
Boom!
Another cannon exploded near the Vasa, shaking the entire battleship.
But fortunately, the magnetic shoes had enough suction, preventing the players from being thrown off the ship.
The Vasa’s bottom armor was comparatively thinner than its side armor, but it was still battleship armor, a half-meter thick alloy shell that was not something a thermite bomb could break open, even plasma cutting was powerless against this level of defense.
For a foot soldier, this was no less terrifying than an iron turtle scarier than a tank.
Thus, the only breakthrough point could only be on the deck.
The same scenario was almost playing out on every battleship, sailors from various countries were frightened by these suddenly appearing lunatics.
They finally experienced the inexplicable fear the Italians on the Bolla faced at the time.
Boom!
Cannon fire wasn’t Bolla’s patent; even with a force field, it didn’t mean invincibility. When a vast number of missiles bombarded endlessly from all directions, even the hardest shell would have a time where it could be pried open.
Facing the missile bombardment from five ships arriving one after another, Bolla’s force field lasted less than two minutes before it fell apart.
Physical destruction essentially is a macroscopic manifestation of electromagnetic force, which cannot make gravitational fields change. No matter the bombardment, it cannot change the gravity of the substance itself. But the force field is not a traditional gravitational or magnetic field; it is an application combining the four fundamental forces.
The anti-gravity engine achieves a delicate balance of the four fundamental forces, creating a seemingly macroscopic physics-defying phenomenon. Yet, if the energy input is sufficient to break this balance externally, the field within the area will collapse on its own.
When the Bolla’s force field disappeared, the subsequent attacks arrived unimpeded. An anti-ship missile was the first to hit. Fortunately, the armor was thick enough that the missile didn’t successfully penetrate, but it was a signal — a signal of a coming barrage of massive attacks.
The players responsible for controlling the battleship below shouted furiously:
"Portside hit!"
Most would consider retreat or emergency evasion at this time, but not the players.
"Ignore it!"
The Giant perfectly showcased its tactics.
Ignore it!
No matter the current situation, win or lose, I’m going to throw this punch,
"Keep firing at that bastard, if we can get off a shot, we will, mess him up!"
Even knowing Brother Ni was on the Vasa, even knowing Vasa’s explosion meant Brother Ni’s burial as well, it didn’t matter; if they could exchange for a battleship, they would be profitable.
Consecutive missile hits rained on Bolla, this heavily modified battleship was already not in good condition, now it’s even worse.
It was like a giant beast being hunted, constantly wailing under the missile and cannon bombardments, the scattered fragments falling on the sea were its torn bloody flesh.
But it was precisely the damage that further stimulated the beast’s ferocity, the two electromagnetic cannons didn’t care about the possible overheated barrel burst, as if they went insane, continually firing at Vasa, shooting out four or five shells within ten seconds.
The violent tremors made multiple cannon components burst, with the cooling tube directly exploding.
These shells continuously bombarded the Vasa’s force field in a short time, forcibly tearing it apart.
The last shell hit directly on the hull, but unfortunately, metallic hydrogen was used up, the rest were solid armor-piercing shells, incapable of causing more explosions.
And Bolla met its end, a battleship shell from Vasa hit its bow, with another stealth attack from behind caught it from Calavera.
Boom! Boom!
The flash of explosions lit up half of the night sky.
The two hits completely destroyed any structural integrity within Bolla’s keel and the anti-gravity engine, resulting in massive player casualties on board.
The entire battleship began disassembling mid-air and falling down like Hood had previously.
After all, this wasn’t a real game. There was no such thing as maintaining a full status until the health bar was emptied.
"Damn it..."
The players inside Bolla’s control room couldn’t help but share a bitter smile, then began leaving their final words in the channel.
"Seems we’re done here."
"Everything else is left to you guys; we’ll see you in three days."
"Such a pity that such a good ship could only fight one battle with us."
"Haha, it just shows this is a one-time mission item."
"Let us descend to the depths with this vessel together, maybe someone will fish us up decades later."
"Doesn’t that make us relics?"
The players who had reached the sides had to stick to the hull to avoid the fragments from the explosions, but this world always has unlucky ones.
"Oh shit!!!"
One player crouched against the side armor couldn’t evade in time and was smashed by a steel plate, blown off the ship along with it, even the magnetic devices couldn’t protect him, leaving him to scream as he was whisked away by the airflow.
Brother Ni could only silently mourn for him, turning his gaze to the breach merely tens of meters away, there was no time to mourn.
"Where’s the breach! Get in through there and blow up this ship!"
"GO! GO! GO!"
Indeed,
Players never expected to replicate the miracle on Bolla with these ships, those who stormed Bolla back then were among the elite combatants, numbering a good three or forty, equipped with nothing short of elite gear.
Whereas Brother Ni’s batch here had neither the numbers nor the quality, hoping to contest ownership from the soldiers onboard was simply a fool’s dream.
Then the best solution was only one left — if you can’t get it, destroy it.
As long as the battleship’s anti-gravity engine could be destroyed or shut down temporarily, forcing it into the water.
Once it enters the water, those vast swarms of big black fish would surely entertain these diving young ladies.
However, the progress of other player squads wasn’t as smooth as Brother Ni and his team’s landing on Vasa, with no Bolla to divert all the firepower.
