Chapter 1094: Chapter 165: Mythical Level Blessing · Golden Holy Water Bottle
As Dante swiftly visited and cleansed the rebel strongholds around Flash Spear City during the Chaos Warband, the Hessen army was also sweeping through the wild monsters in the area like leaves swept by the autumn wind.
On the plains of Flash Spear City, over 400 li of goblin tribes, chaos knights, and cultist camps were extensively destroyed.
In the past, with only over three hundred people in the Free Guild, it was quite difficult to clear these monsters. But now, Tiberus and Dietrich arrived with a force of 1,000 troops.
The Arbitration Court of Flash Spear City naturally seized the opportunity to purify the surrounding environment of the city and eliminate some hidden monsters.
Thus, the chairman of Flash Spear City’s Arbitration Court, Rong’en, immediately ordered the chosen butcher, Sogard, to lead the Free Guild, Bright Guard, and Blazing Butcher among other three armies to unite with Tiberus.
At this point, an unprecedentedly powerful mixed legion formed on the plains: Three mighty chosen ones as the core, commanding nearly 1,500 elite infantry and cavalry of the Hessen Territory, along with nearly 500 experienced and versatile hunters and mercenaries from Flash Spear City’s Free Guild. A provincial-level legion with a total of two thousand men, like a tempered sharp sword, pointed directly at the rotting saddle’s run-away foul hoofprints.
Rotten Saddle is not an easy target to capture. As a Chaos Knight Order that lives by roaming and pillaging, spreading plague, they are well-versed in guerrilla tactics, elusive in movement, rarely staying at the same location for more than a night. Their scouts typically utilize those corrupted, swift-moving pox armor attendants, silently and stealthily infiltrating the wilderness like the plague itself.
However, this time, the hunters are equally experienced. The hunters of the Free Guild, coordinated with Dietrich’s keen-sensed priests, and Sogard’s unique "sense of smell" for chaos corruption, wove an invisible giant net. They tracked reports of water sources being slightly polluted, clues to strange livestock deaths, residual sweet and foul air that normal people can hardly detect. Scout teams conducted a grid search on the expansive plains, utilizing the intelligence network provided by recent Flash Spear City converts, continually narrowing the search area.
Eventually, the clues pointed to the northeast of Flash Spear City, a relatively open wasteland near the edge of "Sigmar Swamp." This was once the location of several abandoned villages, rich in underground water sources, with many paths leading to broader territories, an ideal temporary nest and pollution node for Rotten Saddle.
Soon, the legion maneuvered near the target, with Tiberus as the chosen one of the Sun Goddess, despite his seemingly carefree demeanor, he led the troops excellently close to the target.
On the barren land upfront, the repulsive figures of Rotten Saddle came into view. They seemed to have just completed a short rest and were ready to move again under the twilight. The enormous Crown of Pustules on Gorg reflected a sickly glow in the silhouette of the sunset, and the six-legged plague warhorses uneasily pawed the ground, stepping out pits spewing toxic smoke, while knights’ living armor leaked pus into the yellowed ground with a hissing sound. The air was instantly filled with an overwhelming odor of sweet death and corruption.
Catching the enemy’s moment, Tiberus decisively commanded the full-scale attack!
"For the Goddess! For Hessen! Crush these stinking maggots!" Tiberus’s roar was like the horn of an attack. He led the Half-Lion Griffin Knight Order, initiating a formidable charge, the heavy iron hooves shattering the barren land’s silence, and the brilliant gold light gleamed on the knights’ armor and lances, forming an unstoppable wedge of light, piercing into the relatively loose flank of the Rotten Saddle marching formation.
Sogard then emitted a wild battle cry, like a raging tiger, leading the Blazing Butchers and part of the most valiant Bright Guard infantry, closely following the knights’ charging tip, akin to a heavy warhammer, brutally smashing into the enemy formation disrupted by Tiberus. The giant axe in his hand shimmered with holy rune light, every swing bore the might to tear through space, targeting the plague knights and their mounts attempting to regroup.
The hunters and mercenaries of the Free Guild then maneuvered like a flexible wolf pack on the periphery. They utilized precise crossbow arrow shooting to target the relatively weak joints and eyes of the plague warhorses, coordinated with dwarf explosives and firearms, harassing the Rotten Saddle’s rear brigade, preventing them from forming an effective counterattack formation, and specifically sniping those cultist followers and Nagash spirits attempting to cast corruption spells.
Gorg emitted an angry roar, his abdominal rotten cavity abruptly opened, ejecting a deadly "rotted breath" mist to obstruct the Blazing Sun Knights’ charge. However, Tiberus sped at the forefront, the holy light shield forcefully withstood the erosion of the toxic mist, speed unaffected. Gorg wielded a giant scythe to counter, clashing fiercely with Tiberus’s giant axe, erupting in a screeching sound and energy shockwave.
Dietrich’s purification field fully unfolded, like an invisible dam, greatly suppressing Gorg’s corruption spells and the effect of "Desperate Breath." Meanwhile, Sogard seemed to be in an unchallenged realm, his axe specialized in slicing the thin connections of the plague knights’ living armor, and the energy blasted by the holy flame runes had a devastating effect on the rotten flesh, often splitting both man and horse into halves in one chop, pus and guts blazing intensely in the holy flame.
