Chapter 359: Cyan Wolf Confesses

  • Next Chapter

The frantic barks of the wolfhound mixed with Cyan Wolf’s curses.

Cyan Wolf’s voice boomed, “Chen, open the damn door! I’ll tell you what you want to know!”

“I’m sure you’re more capable than Wu Song, Brother Cyan Wolf. Keep trying.”

‘As long as the guy doesn’t reveal his sect and its secrets, I won’t interfere. Whether the dog beats the man or the man beats the dog, it’s all the same to me.’

‘After all, both of them are acting like animals. When two beasts fight, who cares who wins?’

Just then, Cyan Wolf let out a terrified shriek.

“Stay back! I know you have rabies! If you come any closer, I won’t hold back!”

The onlookers never imagined Chen Qingdi would resort to such a method for interrogation.

Their faces turned pale, but Chen Qingdi’s expression remained unchanged as he calmly watched the situation unfold inside the room.

‘If he doesn’t break in the next ten minutes, I’ll just leave and come back in a day to check the results.’

‘I’ll accept it whether I find human bones or dog bones.’

By the sixth minute, the sounds of fighting inside died down. Both man and beast were huddled in a corner, panting heavily.

At that moment, Cyan Wolf suddenly shouted.

“We’re from the Ghost Doctor Sect! My master’s nickname is Life-taking Ghost! He’s actually from Japan, and he has an old, unused name: Yamamoto Shirō. AHH! Vicious dog, what are you doing?!”

Knowing Cyan Wolf was about to break, Chen Qingdi quickly ordered his men to open the cage door. He saw that the wolfhound had already pinned Cyan Wolf to the ground, its gleaming white fangs poised to rip into his throat.

Chen Qingdi decisively launched a Flying Dragon Fist. From a great distance, it slammed the wolfhound back into its iron cage. The dog let out a despairing yelp and fell still.

Chen Qingdi knew the dog wouldn’t be down for long, so he decisively dragged Cyan Wolf out.

“With your martial skill, it should have been easy to defeat that mutt. Why did you let it push you around like that?”

Cyan Wolf’s face turned beet red. If he weren’t being held back, he probably would have lunged at Chen Qingdi just like that mad dog had.

“What do you want to know? Just fix what’s wrong with me, or I swear I’ll challenge you to a fencing match!”

At that, a nearby disciple said to Chen Qingdi,

“We don’t have any fencing swords among our training equipment. I could order a pair for you and the gentleman, if you’d like.”

Chen Qingdi sent the guy with the bright idea flying five or six meters with a single kick, where he landed flat on his back.

He then ordered his men to knock Cyan Wolf out.

After Cyan Wolf was unconscious, his body was as red as a boiled shrimp, but there were no other pathological signs.

Chen Qingdi ordered someone to bring an acupuncture kit and began to perform bloodletting on him. As expected, a foul-smelling toxin drained out with his blood.

Only when the man’s complexion returned to normal did Chen Qingdi order his men to wash the guy up and bring him over.

A long while later, Cyan Wolf awoke to find himself completely drained of strength, as if he had collapsed from exhaustion. Unfortunately for him, he now posed absolutely no threat to Chen Qingdi.

Chen Qingdi dismissed everyone else from the room, leaving only himself and Cyan Wolf.

“You have a story, and I have watermelon. Let’s eat while we talk.”

Sure enough, the disciples knew their cue and placed several slices of watermelon on the coffee table. Chen Qingdi sat on the edge of the bed, munching on a piece as he ordered Cyan Wolf,

“Time for your performance. If there’s any part I’m not satisfied with, you’ll face the consequences.” Only now did Cyan Wolf understand just how ruthless this seemingly refined man truly was.

‘Ever since I fell into the hands of his men, I haven’t had a moment’s peace. It’s been constant torture.’

Cyan Wolf sneered, “To think a pretty-boy scholar like you could be so devious. I admit defeat. Ask whatever you want.”

“Where is the Ghost Doctor Sect headquarters?”

“Our home base is in Yokohama. Once you’re there, you’ll be able to find my master. Their goal is to completely destroy the medical arts of the Dragon Country, then make a fortune selling drugs from Japan.”

Chen Qingdi nodded. “Continue.”

Cyan Wolf was getting annoyed. ‘Didn’t you say you’d eat watermelon while listening to the story? Why don’t I get a slice?’ he thought.

As if reading his mind, Chen Qingdi said to him, “If you surrender completely, forget watermelon—you can have anything you want. Of course, if you cross us again, don’t blame us for being impolite the next time you’re locked in a cage with a wolfhound.”

Cyan Wolf seethed internally but didn’t dare say a word. All he could do was offer Chen Qingdi another humble apology.

Through continuous interrogation, Chen Qingdi finally understood the reason for the repeated attacks on him and his wife.

To put it bluntly, they were competing for market share in the medical field. Because of Chen Qingdi, the other party had lost out on enormous profits. Unwilling to accept their losses, they had decided to get revenge on Chen Qingdi by any means necessary.

When one plan failed, they came up with another: first, they would incapacitate Chen Qingdi’s wife, then use the antidote to blackmail him. Their ultimate goal was still to get their hands on all of Yichen Island’s valuable traditional medicines and legendary prescriptions.

Chen Qingdi, of course, had no intention of giving Cyan Wolf any of these things. “My wife will be waking up soon,” he said. “Your mission here is a complete failure. Why don’t you go back to your ‘master’ and get the full picture?”

“There’s no need for that.”

Chen Qingdi said to a disciple beside him,

“I’ve already investigated everything that’s happened recently.”

Only then did Cyan Wolf speak up. “You should let me go now, right?”

Chen Qingdi nodded. “It’s good that you’ve been able to atone for your crimes. The intelligence you’ve provided will be helpful for our next steps. Tell me, what kind of reward would you like?”

Chen Qingdi said humbly, “I can’t afford anything too valuable, but I do have a gold chain here. Let’s put it on you.”

Cyan Wolf was mortified. It was a dog collar. A solid gold one, to be sure, but was he really supposed to wear it around his neck?

He gritted his teeth. “If you stop humiliating me, I’ll submit. I’ll do whatever you say.”

Chen Qingdi gave a wicked laugh. “It just so happens I can’t stand your master. Would you dare to kill him for me?”

“I will do as you command. However, my master isn’t here. He’s at the headquarters in Japan.”

Chen Qingdi patted him on the head, like a master petting his favorite dog.

“The next phase of the operation is all up to you. I’ll be here waiting for your good news. Go.”

Cyan Wolf seemed a changed man. He silently handled the arrangements for his return to Japan and took the earliest flight back.

After that, he vanished without a trace. Not even Chen Qingdi knew where he had gone.

Not long after, his wife woke up, and Chen Qingdi finally let out a long sigh of relief.

The wife-saving operation had concluded for now. But who knew what storms the future still held?
