Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 358: Wife's Life Hanging by a Thread

  • Next Chapter

Chen Qingdi let out a long sigh. “Alright, you win. As long as you don’t kill my wife, I’m willing to give you my secret medical text, the Qingnang Scripture.”

“If you don’t want your wife to die, then kneel. Now.”

His head lowered, and with weakened knees, he slowly began to bend down.

Cyan Wolf suddenly threw his head back and roared with laughter.

“They all say the disciples of Yisheng Dao are indomitable heroes, but from what I can see, you’re all just a bunch of cowards who cling to life. Hurry it up, kid, or I won’t be able to stop myself from doing something you’ll regret.”

Chen Qingdi’s knees continued to bend. But just in the nick of time, two sharp CRACKS rang out, immediately followed by Cyan Wolf’s furious roar.

“You two little wretches! How dare you betray me!”

Chen Qingdi looked up to see Cyan Wolf’s arms in the grasp of the Shuang’Er twins. He was clearly unable to muster any strength; they must have dislocated his shoulders.

The two of them pinned his arms behind his back while simultaneously kicking the back of his knees.

THUD. Cyan Wolf fell heavily to his knees before Chen Qingdi.

Nearby, Shen Mingyue was now out of danger, though she still lay unconscious on the hospital bed.

Once Chen Qingdi confirmed Shen Mingyue was safe, his worries vanished. He lifted Cyan Wolf’s chin with the toe of his shoe.

“Son of a bitch. You got the guts to keep acting tough? Let’s see how I’ll fucking deal with you.”

The angrier he got, the more he slapped. SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! He gave the bastard a complimentary, multi-course face-slapping special. By the time his rage finally subsided, Cyan Wolf’s face had swollen up like a pig’s head.

Even with Chen Qingdi’s own terrifyingly advanced facial recognition abilities, he wouldn’t have been able to identify the man before him.

A mixture of rage, indignation, and humiliation had long since caused Cyan Wolf to pass out.

“You two, stuff him in the trunk of my car. I’ll interrogate him when we get back.”

After giving the order, he went to Shen Mingyue’s side. He checked her pulse and her condition, relieved to find that aside from being unconscious, her life wasn’t in danger.

He took out a Soul Reviving Pill. Just as he was about to put it in his wife’s mouth, Li Shuang’Er suddenly spoke up.

“You can’t just give her the medicine directly. It requires a qi transfer.”

At that, Chen Qingdi placed the pill in his own mouth and gently fed it to her.

Color slowly returned to Mingyue’s pale cheeks. Only then did Chen Qingdi truly relax. He quickly went to wake up the bodyguards, nurses, and doctors.

Having been knocked out for seemingly no reason, they were all still completely bewildered about what had happened when they came to.

They were all deeply ashamed when Chen Qingdi explained that they had been attacked.

Chen Qingdi couldn’t fool himself; these people weren’t enough. He had no choice but to call the War Gods again and ask them to send some true masters. The situation here was far too complex. If anything else went wrong, the consequences would be unthinkable.

Hearing that one incident after another had occurred in their jurisdiction, the Jia Mu War God and Yimu Battle God were deeply embarrassed. They came to Chen Qingdi together to apologize. “From now on, the two of us will personally stand guard at the hospital to protect Miss Shen,” they declared. “Please, rest assured.”

Chen Qingdi clapped them on the shoulders. “I’ll be back in twenty-four hours to give her the second dose of medicine. In the meantime, I’ll have to trouble Mu to look after Mingyue’s daily needs.”

The Yimu Battle God was the Jia Mu War God’s wife. Though her skills were paramount, she was ordinarily quite low-key. At a casual glance, no one would ever guess she was a supreme master of the Martial Arts world.

With the arrangements here settled, Chen Qingdi got in his car and sped back to the villa’s basement.

The two sisters were clearly traumatized; having come out of that place once, they never wanted to set foot in it again.

Chen Qingdi didn’t press the issue, simply ordering other disciples to haul Cyan Wolf down into the basement.

Someone had reset Cyan Wolf’s shoulders, but the pain was still excruciating.

“Listen up, Chen Qingdi! You got lucky earlier. I never expected those two wretches to betray our sect. But by taking them in, you’ve just picked up a couple of hot potatoes. How you handle them is your problem now. And when our sect comes for revenge, it’ll be on your head and yours alone.”

Chen Qingdi’s face darkened. “Tell me, what exactly is your sect? And why did you come after my wife?”

Cyan Wolf snorted. “It’s true, we have no quarrel with you. But we have even less of a quarrel with Mi Jin. Our client paid one billion USD for us to take you out! You should die with a smile, knowing your pathetic life is worth that much.”

Chen Qingdi sneered. “You’re my prisoner, and you’re still running your mouth. Don’t make me pull out my special tricks.”

Cyan Wolf, naturally, had no intention of cooperating. He sneered, “Chen, no matter what ‘heroic’ methods you try, I will never break.”

Chen Qingdi chuckled darkly. He ordered his men to grab Cyan Wolf’s limbs and hold him prone on a bed. Then, they pulled down his pants, and Chen Qingdi administered a light injection into his buttock.

“What did you just inject me with?”

Chen Qingdi just chuckled. “My dear brother Brown, I heard you’re quite the romantic. I’m just helping you out. You’re about to have a very… memorable experience.”

Just then, a look of ravenous lust filled Cyan Wolf’s eyes. If Chen Qingdi hadn’t been forcefully holding him down, he would have already lost control.

Chen Qingdi addressed a couple of his disciples. “Everyone’s heard the story of Wu Song Slaying the Tiger, but nobody’s ever seen it happen. Besides, tigers are a protected species now. Killing one would land us in jail, and we wouldn’t dare do that. But… there’s no law against killing a vicious dog, is there?”

The disciples looked at him, completely baffled.

Chen Qingdi continued, “Throw him in the room next door. The one with the wolf-dog.”

Cyan Wolf began to scream curses. “You son of a bitch! You’ll die a dog’s death!”

Chen Qingdi calmly patted his cheek. His face was already swollen like a pig’s, with barely any room left for another slap, but that didn’t stop Chen Qingdi’s smug satisfaction.

“They say when you lock a man in a room with a dog, there are three possible outcomes.”

Cyan Wolf sneered. ‘What the hell are you talking about?’

As he spoke, he was being dragged into a room with a large iron cage. The cage door was open. Inside, there was indeed a wolf-dog, one as large as a calf. Seeing a stranger enter, it started drooling and whining eagerly.

Chen Qingdi smiled. “First outcome: the dog beats you. That makes you worse than a dog. Second outcome: you fight to a draw. Congratulations, you’re finally on a dog’s level. Third outcome: you beat the dog… which means you finally get to be on top of the dog. So, which do you think it will be?”

With that, he ordered the wolf-dog to be let out of its cage. Everyone then retreated from the room. CLANG. The heavy door was locked behind them.
