Thompson was stunned. He looked at his fallen bodyguard, then at Li Feng standing before him, and it finally dawned on him—this man was here to kill him! He immediately jumped to his feet and, taking advantage of the chaos, rushed toward the door.

"You can't leave." Li Feng's voice rang out coldly, his eyes filled with firm resolve.

'If Thompson walks out that door,' he calculated, 'I can't guarantee I'll get another chance this good.'

Thompson didn't stop. He charged for the door without looking back.

His heart pounded like a war drum, and his mind raced, trying to figure out how to escape this deadly sniper attack.

"Take one more step, and you die," Li Feng's voice rang out coldly again, as if passing a sentence.

However, Thompson didn't stop. He continued to rush forward. He knew that the only way to survive was to leave this dangerous place as quickly as possible.

Li Feng's gaze turned icy and ruthless. He silently counted in his head, waiting for the sniper to fire again. This time, however, the sniper seemed to have missed. The bullet didn't hit Thompson but went wide.

Using the chaotic crowd and his bodyguard's corpse for cover, Thompson sprinted toward the door. His heart hammered as if it were about to burst from his chest.

He felt like he was running through a nightmare—first his bodyguard fell, then came the threat of a sniper—it all felt as unreal as a dream.

It wasn't until he burst out of the cafe's doors, felt the warm sunlight on his face, and heard the bustling sounds of the street that he began to believe he had truly escaped the danger.

He strode quickly to the street corner and ducked into a small alley. He knew he couldn't let his guard down completely—the sniper might still be after him.

He began weaving through the narrow alleys. He knew this was the only way to escape the sniper's pursuit.

His steps grew faster and more forceful. His heartbeat and footsteps blended together, creating a heart-pounding symphony.

He kept taking winding paths, knowing it might throw off the sniper and reduce the danger.

Only after he was sure he was out of the sniper's range did he stop. He leaned against a wall, gasping for breath.

His heart hammered as if it were about to burst from his chest. His face was covered in sweat, and large tears rolled down his cheeks.

He silently gave thanks for escaping the deadly sniper attack. He knew he owed his life to his own intuition and decisiveness, as well as his bodyguard's sacrifice and his own desperate struggle.

With the assassination mission a complete failure, Li Feng and Qian Laoliu discussed what to do next.

"The mission failed. What do we do now?" Li Feng asked.

Qian Laoliu was speechless for a moment. The mission's failure left him deeply frustrated, but he knew they couldn't just give up.

"Let's just launch a direct assault," Qian Laoliu proposed.

Li Feng shook his head. "If we do that, our losses will be heavy."

"Then what should we do?" Qian Laoliu asked, a hint of helplessness in his voice.

Li Feng decided to call Chen Qingdi and ask for his thoughts.

After hearing that their mission had failed, Chen Qingdi showed no surprise or disappointment. He just said calmly, "You're free to act as you see fit. I only want results."

"However, I hope you can keep casualties in the Mercenary Corps to a minimum," Chen Qingdi added.

Li Feng and Qian Laoliu exchanged a look. They knew the mission wasn't over; they had to keep going.

"We have an idea. We can try another assassination, but we'll need more intel and a better plan," Li Feng proposed.

"Very well. I'll have the intelligence department provide more support," Chen Qingdi agreed.

Qian Laoliu and Li Feng began preparing for the next operation. They knew this attempt would require far more caution and precision. They launched a deeper investigation into the target, analyzing every detail and drawing up an exhaustive plan.

"We need more support," Li Feng said, looking at the plan.

"I'm already contacting our intelligence department," Qian Laoliu replied.

They began to wait for word from the intelligence department while also planning their next move.

They knew they couldn't just give up on this mission. They needed to complete it to uphold the honor and interests of the Mercenary Corps.

Time passed as Qian Laoliu and Li Feng continued to discuss their next course of action.

They knew this mission was crucial for the Mercenary Corps, so they could not accept failure.

In the top-floor office of the Tom Group headquarters, Chairman Thompson, his mind in turmoil after the attack, summoned his bodyguard, Wilson.

"Wilson, my only son, Thomas, has his sights on me. I must get rid of him before he makes a move," Thompson said, his tone firm.

Wilson's brow furrowed. He knew this was his mission, and he had to complete it. He nodded and said, "I understand, sir."

Thompson nodded in satisfaction. "Good. You need to complete this mission as quickly as possible. And you must ensure no one suspects me."

Wilson took a deep breath, nodded, and then left the office. He understood that he needed to find Thomas as quickly as possible and then get rid of him.

Meanwhile, Thomas was in his room, pondering how to deal with his father's actions, when he suddenly received a call. It was from his friend, Wilson.

"Hello, Wilson. What's up?" Thomas asked.

"I have something important to tell you," Wilson said.

"Oh? What is it?" Thomas asked.

"Your father wants to kill you. He ordered me to take your life," Wilson said.

Thomas was silent for a moment, then said, "I see. Thank you for telling me this. I'll decide what to do."

Wilson nodded and then hung up. He knew Thomas was a smart man and would make the right decision.

Thomas took a deep breath, then dialed another number. This call was for Chen Qingdi, the chairman of the Mingyue Group.

"Hello, President Chen," Thomas said.

"Oh, Thomas, hello. Is something the matter?" Chen Qingdi asked.

"I have an urgent matter that requires your help," Thomas said. "My father wants to kill me. I need your Mercenary Corps to help me resolve this situation."
