Chapter 270:Ethan’s Warning
Chapter 270: 270:Ethan’s Warning
The punch landed square on Simon’s chest.
The sound was deafening.
Simon’s body shot into the sky like a cannonball. The air was split apart as he shot like an arrow .
He flipped his body mid air and slammed into the ground miles away.
CRASH.
The earth split open. A massive crevice formed as his body dragged across the land. Trees vanished. Rocks were torn apart. The terrain was ripped like paper.
Simon stopped at last, kneeling in a crater.
He coughed once and blood sprayed from his mouth.
He wiped it away and slowly stood up.
His eyes burned with fury and excitement.
Ethan was already charging.
The ground shattered under his feet as he ran.His speed shook the plains.
Simon puffed out his chest and drew in a massive breath. His muscles expanded. Lightning gathered around his arm, thick and violent.
The air screamed.
The sky darkened.
Simon clenched his fist. Lightning coagulated around it, spinning wildly.
“Ahhh!” Simon roared.
He stepped forward and hurled the punch with everything he had.
“Take this. The full might of my power.”
The punch tore through the air.
The world shook by the force yet Ethan met it head on.
Ethan’s fist, coated in thick Draconic scales, compressed terrifying power as he shot it forward to meet Simon’s punch head on.
Before the two fists could collide, the aura and mana around them slammed into each other first. The space between their attacks compressed into a tiny point, vibrating violently for a split second.
Then it exploded outward.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The sky roared as if it were tearing apart. Before the echoes could fade, another explosion shook the entire place, as if a divine storm was about to descend and wipe everything away.
“Great Lightning!”
Simon shouted as he raised his arm to the sky. His voice was drowned by thunder as he drew lightning directly from the heavens. Bright bolts descended from the clouds and wrapped around him as the massive shockwave, filled with flashing light, rushed toward him from the front.
The red clouds above turned gold at the edges. A gigantic magical circle, more than four hundred meters wide, formed beneath them. Runes burned brightly as lightning and power surged into it. The ground trembled again, and the entire world seemed soaked in golden light.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
Crimson lightning and golden flames met mid air. For a moment, they pushed against each other, neither giving way. Then both forces collapsed at the same time.
The explosion that followed dwarfed all the previous ones.
A violent shockwave blasted outward. The earth screamed as waves of force slammed into Ethan and Simon. Both of them gritted their teeth and stomped their feet into the ground, creating massive craters just to hold their ground and not be pushed back even an inch.
Then, finally, their fists met.
This time, there was no magic.
Only raw physical force.
The instant their fists collided, Simon’s face changed.
The cold, emotionless mask he always wore cracked.
Shock flickered across his eyes.
Then horror.
His eyes widened as Ethan’s punch crushed straight through his knuckles. The bones shattered into dust with a brutal crunch.
A violent storm of lightning erupted from Simon’s body as the shockwave burst out from his aura.
Simon’s fist broke apart completely. The bones in his arm rattled and cracked, snapping one after another. Blood sprayed into the air as his arm twisted unnaturally.
A second shockwave exploded outward.
Simon stumbled backward, coughing blood. His body trembled as he barely stayed standing.
Ethan lowered his fist slowly and glanced at it. Then he looked at Simon’s shattered, dangling hand.
“Haaa… That’s why I don’t like using this!”
His voice sounded annoyed, almost tired.
Using Draconic scales almost doubled the power of his fist.
“Who… Who are you?”
Simon asked, his voice shaking. Horror was written clearly on his face.
“You can’t be an ordinary Baron. A human having Dracon—”
He never finished the sentence.
BOOM!
A crushing force slammed into Simon’s face. His vision went blank as his body was smashed into the ground.
BOOOOOOM!
Dust and rocks exploded outward as a massive crater formed beneath him.
“Sorry,” Ethan said coldly as he stepped forward. “I would rather pummel you to dust than listen to that bullshit.”
He raised his fist again, ready to strike.
Before he could, a scream echoed across the battlefield, followed by an overwhelming pressure that pressed down from above.
“ENOUGHHHHHHH!”
Ethan froze for a moment and thenn slowly turned his head.
Two figures stood in the distance.
“Who are you?” Ethan asked calmly.
The first man stepped forward. He wore heavy armor decorated with star patterns.
“I am the Captain of the Star Knights, Baltar.”
The second man followed. He wore formal robes and carried himself with dignity.
“And I am the RoyL Chamberlain, Auster.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow and looked at them.
“So?”
He tilted his head slightly.
“Do I need to worship you or what?”
“You!”
Baltar shouted as rage flashed across his face, but Auster quickly grabbed his arm and stopped him.
“Baltar, step back. Let me handle this.”
Auster stepped forward and gave a small bow.
“Sir Ethan, we ask you to step back. Your grievance will be handled by His Majesty. Please accompany us to greet him.”
Ethan did not lower his fist. His gaze stayed cold as he stared at them.
“What was His Majesty doing when I sent one letter after another?”
His voice was sharp.
“Now that I am acting, he sends you two to call me? And he didn’t even raise my status.”
Auster inhaled quietly before answering.
“His Majesty had been busy previously, Sir Ethan. But as soon as he heard that you were in the capital, he personally sent us to welcome you. So please do not make this difficult for us. He has been waiting for you.”
Ethan looked down.
Simon lay in the crater with his body broken.
Just as relief flashed across Simon’s face for a brief second, unexpected to anyone Ethan punched again.
BOOOOOOM!
The ground rippled violently as the brutal slam shook the entire area. Cracks spread outward like spiderwebs.
Simon screamed in pain and went still.
Ethan straightened up, sliding his hands over his long white hair that painted the whiskers in red and turned his full attention back to Baltar and Auster.
“What if I don’t?”
His voice was calm, but the pressure behind it was terrifying.
Baltar could not take it anymore. He pulled his sword halfway out of its sheath and screamed.
“I’ve had enough! If you don’t come with us peacefully, then I wi—”
Balthar’s eyes narrowed and his heart almost leapt out of his body.
Ethan was no longer standing a hundred meters away.
He was right in front of him.
Deadly intent crushed down on Baltar like a mountain. Ethan’s eyes were cold and merciless.
“Yes,” Ethan said quietly. “Tell me what you are going to do if I don’t come.”
He leaned closer.
“But before you draw your sword, remember one thing. The moment you unsheathe it, I swear on my honor, regardless of my future fate, you two will be buried in coffins.”
“Right now and right here.”
