Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 1396 - 1398: Our Miss Invites Miss Sullivan for a Meeting
Sophie Sullivan was staggered by her, taking two steps back before regaining her balance. She stiffened for a few seconds before raising her hand to pat her back, "Are you okay?"
Fluffy Zane shook her head, then nodded, conflicted and tangled.
Marrying a pervert, how could she be okay?
It was the path she chose, no matter how dark, she had to bravely go forward.
Sophie’s gaze passed over her shoulder, noticing the man standing at the doorway. Her beautiful eyes slightly narrowed; this man didn’t seem to be Harrison Moore.
Fluffy gradually released her, lowered her head, and laughed self-deprecatingly, "Sorry, I lost my composure."
"Who is he?" Sophie didn’t entertain her self-deprecation.
Fluffy turned around and saw Taylor Moore about to head out, her eye color darkened, and she lowered her voice, "Harrison Moore’s younger brother, Taylor Moore, also my little brother-in-law."
This little brother-in-law, elusive within the Moore Family, almost always got Mrs. Moore furious whenever he appeared.
But oddly enough, he didn’t harbor any malice towards her.
"Hello." Taylor Moore nodded with a gentle smile, courteous and refined.
Sophie slightly hooked the corner of her mouth, "Hello."
Taylor Moore didn’t stay long, and after simply saying hello, he left.
Fluffy escorted Sophie into the Moore Family home, and the servants of the Moore Family were observing Sophie with a very astonishing gaze.
Sophie was already used to it; she brought the men in black, their expressionless eyes swept over, and the servants immediately dared not look again.
"Is this your bedroom?" Sophie glanced around the spacious bedroom, nearly devoid of any sign of a male presence.
Fluffy sat down on the sofa and poured her a cup of water, "Harrison Moore is homosexual; he seldom comes home, and even if he does, he doesn’t share a bed with me."
By now, Fluffy didn’t want to hide from her, and she spoke sincerely.
Sophie sat down and took a sip of water, a woman’s happiness or not all written on her face.
Fluffy’s facial color was haggard, her eye color dim and lacking light, enough to show that this marital life brought her not only psychological harm but also a destructively ravaging damage.
"William Guillen fainted at your wedding, did you know?"
Fluffy’s expression didn’t change, "I didn’t know."
Clearly, she had no desire to know either.
Sophie saw that she was really resigned, so she let it go. If she had even a shred of feeling for William Guillen, she’d be willing to help her out of her predicament.
Marriage, this cage, is not suitable for imprisoning a vibrant soul.
...
Leaving the Moore Family, on the way back to Shannons’ Manor, Sophie leaned against the back chair, closing her eyes for a light nap.
She was exceedingly tired, weariness washed over, and her eyelids felt incredibly heavy.
Suddenly, with a hard brake, her body pitched forward, only to be violently pulled back by the seatbelt.
Her body slammed into the back chair, and her internal organs began to ache.
"Young Madam, are you okay?" The man in black turned his head anxiously to check on her situation.
Sophie furrowed her brow, "What happened ahead?"
"It’s Miss Lillian from the Presidential Mansion blocking the way."
As soon as the man in black finished speaking, the guards beside Lillian Spencer got out of the car first, knocked on the car window, "Our Miss invites Miss Sullivan for a talk."
"Tell your Miss that our Young Madam has no time," the man in black’s tone was tough.
The guards were not to be trifled with, "Then we’ll have no choice but to offend."
Before both sides engaged, Sophie spoke calmly, "Wait."
The man in black turned his head, lowering his voice, "Young Madam, don’t worry, we will safely escort you back to the manor."
