He’s practically digging his own grave.

So Sophie Sullivan doesn’t feel sorry for him at all. Everything he suffers now is a result of his own actions, and his pain is nothing compared to a fraction of Fluffy Zane’s suffering.

"Really not going?" Thomas Shannon held her face, gently stroking it with his thumb, "Is it because of Fluffy Zane?"

Sophie Sullivan pried his hand away and said with disdain, "Isn’t it obvious?"

Even without Fluffy Zane in the picture, just the tales of William Guillen’s past escapades are enough to bother Sophie the most.

They say birds of a feather flock together.

William Guillen is that kind of person. Wouldn’t that mean Thomas Shannon might be...

At this thought, Sophie Sullivan grabbed Thomas Shannon’s shirt collar, squinting her beautiful eyes, and questioned: "Thomas Shannon, tell me honestly, don’t you think William Guillen’s private life is excessively debauched and chaotic?"

Thomas Shannon pondered for a moment, seemingly trying to figure out what was going on inside her little head at this moment.

He cleared his throat and explained earnestly, "Fennie, everyone has the right to choose their own lifestyle, and I don’t deny that Lan Singh is quite casual in terms of his personal life. But that doesn’t negate his character, does it?"

"They say birds of a feather flock together. Are you and William Guillen similar in some ways?"

At least you share common interests.

Thomas Shannon’s handsome face suddenly darkened, and his bright brow furrowed deeply, "Are you suggesting that my private life is as debauched as Lan Singh’s?"

Sophie Sullivan blinked her eyes, her long, thick lashes carrying a hint of innocence.

Thomas Shannon pinched her chin and sneered, "What a shame, then, to disappoint you."

"If you’re going to talk, just talk, no need to get so handsy."

"I just love getting handsy with you, you little scamp with no conscience." Thomas Shannon pressed her against the wall, lowered his head, and kissed her without hesitation.

Fortunately, there weren’t many people in this VIP ward corridor.

Occasionally, when a nurse on rounds saw the scene, she didn’t dare to interrupt and quietly left.

Sophie Sullivan’s tongue was numbed, and when Thomas Shannon showed no sign of stopping, she had to kick him twice to signal him to stop.

Thomas Shannon reluctantly released her, his thumb brushed over her slightly swollen red lips, "Wait for me in the car. I’ll come down after seeing Lan Singh."

"Yes." Sophie Sullivan turned and left.

That back view was so carefree without even a hint of reluctance.

Thomas Shannon chuckled bitterly; she must be sent by God as a nemesis specifically for him, and yet he couldn’t do anything about it.

In the ward.

William Guillen lay on the sickbed like a soulless corpse, staring blankly at the ceiling, completely unaware of Thomas Shannon’s arrival.

Sitting at the bedside, Thomas Shannon furrowed his brow and called in a nurse, "How’s Lan Singh?"

"Young Master Shannon, Young Master Guillen... his body is not in any danger. The doctor said it’s a matter of the heart." So, heart problems require heart remedies.

The doctor has no other solutions.

Thomas Shannon nodded faintly, his voice cold and deep, "You can leave now."

"Yes, Young Master Shannon." The nurse lowered her eyelids, not daring to look at the man who was as handsome as a divine deity, and quietly exited the ward.

"Lan Singh," Thomas Shannon called softly a few times before bringing William Guillen’s wandering thoughts back.

His eyeballs moved, slowly focusing, "Thomas Shannon, why are you here?"

"Came to see my mother, and dropped by to check on you."

"What happened to Auntie?"

"Nothing much, just a minor issue." Thomas Shannon poured him a cup of water, "How do you feel? Are you okay?"
