"Open it."

The contemptuous smile on William Quinn’s face suddenly froze. His blue eyes stared gloomily at Nathaniel Monroe, who was sprawled on the ground like a dead dog, his killing intent fully revealed.

The bodyguard beside him entered the password and opened the door. William strode in and, without a word, delivered a vicious kick to Nathaniel’s body.

THUD!

"Ugh..."

Nathaniel’s body smashed heavily against the wall with a dull thud. He violently coughed up a mouthful of blood, his face turning even paler.

William leaned down and grabbed him by the collar, his blue eyes tainted with heavy ruthlessness. "She will love me. She will definitely fall in love with me. And you, you pathetic worm, you will die here."

Looking at his crazed, paranoid state, Nathaniel broke into a bloody grin. Blood continuously spilled from his mouth, yet he remained full of defiance.

"In your dreams. Iris will never like a lunatic. You imprisoned her and threatened her. She will hate you. She’ll hate you so much she’ll want to kill you."

"You really have a death wish." William let go of him. Seeing how Nathaniel didn’t even have the strength to crawl up, William suddenly smirked. "Seeing as you’re so pitiful, let me tell you something interesting."

Nathaniel closed his eyes. With every breath, he felt pain coursing through his entire body.

"Your best friend, the Walker Grant you’ve always followed unquestioningly, has been lying to you all along," William said, the smile on his lips widening. "He’s always known where I am. He knew the whole time."

Nathaniel’s eyes snapped open, the veins on his forehead throbbing violently. "You’re lying!"

Seeing his look of sheer disbelief finally made William feel comfortable. He said, "I murder and commit arson. I do everything. But the one thing I don’t do is lie. I disdain lying. I made a deal with Walker. He helped me cover my tracks, and I helped him block the people targeting Chloe Reed. Ha... What best friend? In the face of a lover, you are nothing but bullshit!"

Nathaniel’s gaze turned vacant. He never expected things to be like this.

He wondered, "Did Walker know from the very beginning? From the start? Did he see my painful struggles all this time? Was he just watching me suffer coldly?"

"Impossible... How could Walker treat me like this?" Nathaniel muttered aloud.

"Hard to believe, isn’t it?" William looked at his expression and grew even more amused. "He betrayed your friendship. For his lover, he would use anything. Is a guy like that worth your complete trust?"

Nathaniel abruptly rose up and grabbed William by the collar. "You’re lying to me! That’s impossible! You’re just trying to drive a wedge between us!"

William hadn’t expected him to suddenly spring up. But Nathaniel was covered in injuries and barely had any strength left. In just a few seconds, he collapsed back to the ground, utterly exhausted.

William looked at the bloodstains on his clothes and frowned in disgust. "You’ve dirtied my clothes."

Immediately after, he started laughing again. "However, I’m the most merciful person. I won’t hold it against you. Not only that, but I’m also going to give you a gift."

He clapped his hands. A bodyguard immediately stepped forward and placed a tablet in front of Nathaniel.

"These are the emails between Walker and me. You can take your time reading them," William said, before turning and leisurely leaving the room.

The iron door closed once again, and the tablet’s screen lit up.
