"Is everything ready? Do we need to requisition more personnel from the hall?" Gu Shenghui came to Pei Yan after dismissing the external support.

"No need! Gu Chu, you should return too! I’m still worried Bloodshed might be plotting something. If you’re there, I can be more at ease." Pei Yan shook his head, politely declining.

"I can’t! I must go with you. There’s Advisor Lin at the hall, and my role if I return is insignificant in a crisis. I must guard against Bloodshed’s chains of traps targeting you. We can’t dismiss the possibility that the child’s location is a trap." Gu Shenghui firmly disagreed with Pei Yan’s suggestion.

Pei Yan paused, realizing Budding’s ability and his insights into his past actions and personality made it plausible they could predict he’d choose such a course of action after defeating Delacuri. Indeed, if they set an ambush at the child’s location, he might fall into it.

After weighing the pros and cons, Pei Yan agreed to Gu Shenghui’s suggestion. Seeing Pei Yan not refusing, Gu Shenghui continued asking, "Do you have news on where the child is held?"

"Don’t worry, the child was moved by Delacuri’s orders through Depeo to a sub-fortress of the Vlad family before action. This I detected through residual memory in Delacuri’s blood, and I just confirmed it through Bloodline Tracking Art."

"Good! Then lead the way for us to set off! Remember to scout thoroughly and beware of ambush."
