Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 173: Mr. President [I]
Regardless, Luke wasn’t surprised by the impact of his aunt’s appearance. He was just annoyed that it affected innocent people like the butler.
As for himself, he was powerful enough to withstand the aura pressure of an ancient grade summoner like his aunt—a piece of cake, by the way.
Luke was confident his aunt was also surprised he hadn’t bled like Constance.
The Bluespine Centaur chestplate guaranteed him no bleeding.
Bluespine Centaurs were incredibly durable and resilient.
Besides, Luke possessed enough strength to fight his aunt. If he could hold his own against Brienne, then fighting Roselyn shouldn’t be a problem, right?
However, Roselyn left before any further conflict.
Her departure was a good thing, as it allowed Luke to care for Constance, who might have bled to death without it.
Therefore, Luke healed her with his Olympian Serpent power, leaving behind a grateful butler.
She was recovering, so now he had the opportunity to go to the President’s Office.
Seeing Roselyn at Trumps’ manor served as a warning sign, reminding him to be vigilant, but given Roselyn’s angry departure, Luke felt he might have the upper hand.
Following instructions, Luke went to the Patriarch’s office, knocked, and the door opened as some persons inside came out of the office at the same time he knocked.
Luke didn’t recognize any of the people coming out of the office, except for one tall, handsome boy with green hair.
Unexpectedly, it was Derek Cole, who was coming out with his black-haired mother.
Luke and Derek exchanged a glance but didn’t speak, as did the next group. Another boy and his father. They both had brown hair.
The boy glanced at Luke, shoved him by the shoulder, and his father scoffed.
Finally, another boy and his father came out, and Luke was surprised to find that they always appeared as a parent and son pair.
The last boy and his father were both blond, leading Luke to suspect they might be a branch family of the Golden Order.
Luke didn’t want anything to do with them, like the previous two groups, but the boy wanted his attention. He blocked Luke’s path, staring at him with hostile eyes.
"What are you doing blocking my way?" Luke asked.
"Don’t you pay your respects to your elders?" "Boy?" the boy’s father asked impatiently.
"Elders?" Luke replied, "I’m sorry, I’m not within the Golden Order."
"You’re still a commoner, you toad!" the boy said, shoving Luke, who was trying to leave. Then he looked Luke up and down with disgust and said, "It’s shameful to see the future of the country wasted on trash like you."
A few minutes later, Luke finally entered the President’s Office after the attack.
He himself was unaffected; the only thing affected was the time. But seeing the office empty, Luke felt relieved, finding it better than a crowded room.
"I’m sorry you were treated that way. I can control people’s behavior, but I can’t control their speech."
The president seemed to have superhuman hearing, able to hear what was happening outside the door.
"Good evening, Mr. President," Luke said. "No need to apologize. But who are they?"
The president replied, "Good question, Luke. I just hosted the Cole, Wilder, and Aurelius families. Their heirs are my nominees for the next co-presidents."
Mr. Trump scrutinized Luke, making sure he understood what this meant because "The next co-president" referred to Scarlett’s husband, because she was the next president.
Whoever marries the president is known as co-president.
Luke understood. At least now he understood Derek Cole’s presence explained and why the other boys were so hostile.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trump’s gaze was also fixed on Luke, watching to see how he would react to the numerous, competent suitors who had come for Scarlett’s hand in marriage.
But Luke’s expression remained calm, as if nothing had happened.
He sat down on a cushion and asked, "Who did you choose from these three?"
The President replied, "I believe you know who it is."
Luke answered, "The blond boy? I suppose since he’s from the Aurelius family, it should be easier for him and Scarlett to be married, thus producing a pure Golden Order offspring, thereby keeping power within your organization."
"No, no, no. My choice is the boy who is speaking," the president said.
Luke scratched his head, seemingly trying to understand the president’s English, and then replied, "Woa? You mean me?"
The president replied, "I didn’t expect you to be so confused by this revelation..."
Luke replied, "I’m sure it’s because my engagement to Scarlett was suddenly canceled abruptly—by you, good sir."
"Yes, and I’m now reinstating it," Mr. Trump said.
"But why?"
"Don’t question my decision. If you don’t want my daughter to marry you, then she can’t be president," Mr. Trump said.
Luke said with a serious face, "Mr. President, you know I love Scarlett. But as an exiled son, not a member of the Kingsley family, how can you let a commoner marry your daughter and become co-president?"
"Luke Kingsley, where are my thank-yous for saving you from my sister?" the president asked.
"Uh—uh, sorry, I just...Thank yo—"
"Haha. You’re welcome," Mr. Trump said, standing up and wisely putting his hands behind his back. He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall (about 1.78 meters), which was quite short considering the height of the other giants in the family. "The moment Scarlett comes out of that damned Origin Realm, you two get married immediately, and I’ll abdicate my seat right away. I think she’ll be ecstatic about the idea, will she not?"
Luke faced a question that required careful consideration. Whether Scarlett wanted them to marry was up to her, and he wasn’t sure.
Frankly, after the engagement was called off, she was more interested in him, maybe preferring the freedom.
However, this is a judgment, as it is ultimately her decision.
Nevertheless, Scarlett has repeatedly expressed that she wanted them to be together. So, if marriage is what glues them together, then she would choose marriage.
