Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 172: Primitive Slug Life [II]
Luke has shelter, a roof over his head, and a comfortable bed.
However, he still lacked important things for living: Clothes. Food. And etcetera.
Whenever Luke thought about what he lacked, he felt a pang of pain and anger. This anger was directed at his father and stepmother, who had severed ties with him, driven him out of their home, and left him to die on the streets.
Nevertheless, Luke spent the rest of the day in his new apartment, happier.
The apartment has two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a spacious balcony, a balcony for leisure.
Luke used the master bedroom as his own.
As for the second bedroom, he felt it was useless. After all, he lived alone.
Since it is useless, he may transform it into something else like a gym or a shrine for his mythic beasts to cultivate within.
Luke decided to decide later.
After a busy day, Luke fell asleep while checking the softness of his bed.
When he awoke, it was late, evening, and night was at its cliff.
A gentle breeze caresses his face, and the setting sun slowly sank into the distance, painting the sky nostalgically in orange and purple.
Meanwhile, in the distance, the sounds of Luke’s mega workshop, under construction and nearing completion, can be heard.
The sounds of hammers. The sounds of machines and vans. And the sound of men-at-work talking.
Hearing these sounds, Luke felt satisfaction.
He was happy to see so much to look forward to in his life now.
After waking up, Luke tended to his beasts, feeding them and checking their systems, then took a shower.
Luke noticed that Bo and Lan are becoming unbecoming.
Every time, they are fighting each other—despite being the same existence.
Bo and Lan are the Dark Dragonlord, but separated. Now, after transforming into high school students, they are getting on each other’s nerves.
That is, they looked like teenagers now, as notorious as teenagers come.
Luke assumed this was part of the trans process.
After bathing and putting on the same clothes, Luke admitted the clothes were dirty.
Therefore, he left his apartment and went to a nearby boutique.
The boutique’s lights were interesting, a contrast to the dull streetlights on the streets.
Also, considering the breeze outside, the air conditioning inside the boutique can freeze bones.
As Luke entered the store, he seemed to overhear two people discussing his soon-to-be-completed workshop, mega as it is.
"Did you see that huge building over there? What do you think it could be?" one of them asked.
"Isn’t it obvious? It’s either a Hunter’s Guild or a beast containment facility," the other replied.
"Look at its size. What else could be worthy of such a building? I was thinking it might be a research institute, but I guess we’ll wait until they put up the signboards."
The men were silent for a while, as if thinking and imagining more about this mega building in question.
"Whoever owns it must be very wealthy," the first said. "I once saw Blackstone Corp. vans and machinery there, but I doubt Blackstone will own property on this side of the city. The Kingsleys won’t let them, so it’s most likely a partnership."
"Yes, that’s a good idea," the second man said. "No wonder it’s so grand. Cooperation can accomplish great things. I believe that whatever it may be, it will dominate this country. Or, this building will ultimately only be a relic of someone’s ambition."
Luke smiled.
The two men noticed the smile on his lips and looked at him.
"Hey, what are you laughing at?"
"Huh? Aren’t you the deposed son of the Kingsley family?"
"Sorry, you’ve mistaken me for someone else," Luke said, looking away and walking towards a row of clothes.
Luke was there clueless for a while, until a kind lady approached.
She was petite, with brown hair, dressed semi-formally, and had a warm smile.
Like the two men, she also found Luke familiar. However, she was more distinguished than the two men, so she didn’t press him for his identity.
"Sir, what kind of clothes would you like to buy today?" she asked.
"I want lots of comfortable casual wear and shoes, and formal wear."
Formal wear? Why?
Well, this is a businessman! Is the not?
The woman nodded antsily and assumed Luke would be interested in formal shoes too, even though he did not mention so.
"Where would you like us to start looking? These clothes are more casual. Suits and formal attire are in that store."
"Then let’s go there. I don’t want to waste time trying on casual clothes. Give me some sizes suitable for men who are six feet one inch tall (about 1.85 meters), and Western-metric size 12 casual shoes. However, formal attire must be sized precisely."
"Agreed," the woman said with a smile.
She was beginning to think Luke was a very discerning customer.
Later, they came to the second department: suits, plain T-shirts, company shirts, ties, belts, and shoes that appeared forged from fire.
Luke admired the clothes and also examined his choice.
He imagines his father’s face when his father sees him in a suit, looking better and well-dressed.
His father would be shocked that the son he disowned was alive, well, and doing better without him.
Luke cannot wait for the day when he slaps his father’s face metaphorically.
Luke looked at the woman with clasped hands and a quiet demeanour. She too was enjoying the impending pleasure of the slap he was going to deliver.
"Do you have a private tailor you could recommend?" Luke asked.
"Of course. Which formal attire would you like altered?"
"Most of it. But let me find something that fits first. I’d like a polo shirt and a plain trouser. I have somewhere to go now."
"Okay, sir."
The woman agreed, and she rummaged through the hangers.
After a while, her result was a dark green business polo shirt.
The polo shirt looked very chic and high-quality, and Luke fell in love with it at first sight.
When she paired it with black trousers, Luke liked the trousers too.
"This is nice.
"After the clothes are done, remind me to check out your watch department."
"Yes, sir," the woman saluted.
***********
After browsing this boutique, Luke came out renewed, looking different.
Wearing the clothes the woman selected for him, he was clean and sharp.
That dark-green polo shirt was perfect for his arms. The collar, the back, and the chest of the polo didn’t refuse his body. Lastly, the trim of the shirt stopped at this upper-thighs.
Secondly, the plain trousers fit well, and Luke wore a pair of shoes, color: black.
Just as he wanted, a watch completed his outfit.
This watch was the most unique item he had chosen. Surprisingly, it cost more than all the casual clothes combined!
Once everything was ready, Luke paid and requested delivery to his new address.
Afterward, he hailed a taxi and got in, dressed in these new clothes.
The taxi drove smoothly for minutes. Luke was calm and quiet throughout while the car inched to his destination: the Trump Estate.
Even the driver was surprised to be taking someone to the Trump’s estate, the biggest in the country.
However, when he saw Luke’s handsome appearance and impeccable attire in the rearview mirror, he believed it was authentic.
Looks like he was just lucky to have encountered someone going there.
Soon, Luke arrived at the estate. After lengthy security checks, Luke entered the main courtyard, which was filled with more cars than in the morning.
Luke got out of his car and met with the butler, Constance, again.
Constance had been informed of Luke’s return immediately he was identified at the first security.
With Scarlett absent and Constance now an unattending butler, she was assigned to serve Luke. Therefore, it is a good omen about the kind of plans the president had for him.
"Welcome back, Young master Luke," said Constance. "Now I understand why you said you’d come later. You look radiant and full of energy."
"Thank you."
Luke nodded respectfully and looked up at the grand mansion with architectural taste.
Constance nodded back to Luke and gestured for him to come upstairs, saying, "Please come in. The patriarch is awaiting your arrival and hopes you two can enjoy some dessert."
Luke asked, "With so many cars here, the president must have many guests. How come he has time to entertain me?"
Constance replied, "Yes, the patriarch has already attended to these guests."
Luke agreed and went upstairs with Constance into the manor.
The grandeur was tourism-worthy; luxury and opulence were everywhere. However, unexpectedly, someone suddenly grabbed Luke’s wrist.
Luke turned around, and Constance fell to her knees, coughing and gasping for breath from the powerful aura and murderous intent emanating from the person who had grabbed Luke’s hand.
It was a woman, a grown woman.
She had long, pure white hair, braided.
Her eyes were cold, and they lacked emotion.
Her skin was as smooth as porcelain.
Luke recognized the face—a face filled with contempt, hatred, and malice—and he was stunned beyond words.
However, the woman released his hand and, finally wearing a blue dress, swayed away. She looked angry and displeased with her purpose for being there that evening.
Luke swallowed hard, his heart pounding, watching his aunt storm off from the Trump estate.
Quickly, he rushed to Constance, who was bleeding.
"Tell me the way to the patriarch’s office. I’ll take care of you first."
