Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 168: Near Death At The Gateway
No one knows exactly how much time Scarlett spent alone in the Hell-level Origin Realm.
Due to Chronos law of the Black Sun Origin Realm, the flow of time becomes asymmetrical.
Chrono law means that time is no longer symmetrical. Scarlett may have only stayed in the Origin Realm for a few hours, but weeks could have passed on Earth.
To those she left behind, time seems to have passed very little.
In fact, everything is still vivid in their minds; the shock of Scarlett entering the Hell-level Origin Realm alone is still fresh in their memories.
This is why Luke repeatedly tried to approach her, as entering the Hell-level Origin Realm alone is far too dangerous.
However, it was he himself who was truly in danger.
He unfortunately fought against an Ancient grade beast controlled by a Platinum-level summoner.
This Ancient grade beast, named "Golden Eldritch Manticore," had activated its Supreme State, making it effectively invincible.
The longer the Supreme State is maintained, the more indomitable the beast can maintain this state, and its power will increase accordingly.
But it all depends on the summoner.
The duration of the Supreme State many depends on the summoner’s talent and experience, as well as the high level of focus required each time it’s activated.
Unfortunately, Luke lacks in this regard.
He cannot activate Supreme State, and he seems helpless against the Golden Eldritch Manticore and ruthless warriors like Brienne.
He has the Fusion technique, which lets him combine the abilities of different behemoths.
He can infuse aspects and systems into his strongest armor.
He can do many incredible things.
However, for him, activating the Supreme State to fight against a nation’s prime minister and her ancient grade beast is impossible.
A dazzling, harmonious light emanated from Luke, enveloping his entire body. This was a sign of self-healing.
The light was green, it covered every inch of his skin, indicating he was using the healing technique of the Olympian Serpent to repair his battered body.
He was covered in wounds, blood gushing from his wounds. His Molten triceratops mask was torn apart, revealing half his face. His armor was tattered, his breastplate damaged, and even his gauntlet crushed.
Luke was covered in blood.
Luke had fought back with all his might, but it was clearly a battle he couldn’t win.
This also made him realize that he was very far from being remotely the strongest.
"This is like fighting some incomprehensible being..."
Luke muttered to himself, his lips stained with blood.
When he realized that his healing process was unexplainably interfered with by the same enemy, he gasped and collapsed face down to the ground.
"Her beast was terrifying..."
Meanwhile, Brienne deactivated her Supreme State, and everything returned to normal.
Although Luke...
She felt he was on the verge of death, yet she felt a pang of narcissistic pity for him.
After all, she didn’t want him to die.
A half-dead state was best.
The last thing Luke saw before his vision blurred and his life ended was her beautiful yet cold face.
But he didn’t know what happened afterward.
*********
A day later, Luke awoke with a splitting headache. It felt as if a million drums were pounding in his head.
At the same time, his body felt like a cloth sewn together by a sewing machine.
He thought, this must be the price of participating in the deadliest battle of his life.
How did he survive? He had absolutely no idea.
The next question was, after escaping death, where was he?
Luke sat on a comfortable bed, pondering this question.
The room was neatly arranged, the bed was comfortable, even the sheets were fine.
"Am I a hostage?" Luke asked.
But the National Chancellor had said he would be treated like a slave, and this didn’t look like slave treatment.
After prolonged confusion, two women entered the room.
One woman looked like a maid, charming and welcoming. The other woman looked like a butler. She was gentlemanly, well-mannered, and polite.
The maid was carrying a tray of breakfast. They must be responsible for his care, and they seemed very interested in his awakening.
"Master Luke, it’s wonderful to see you recover. Please have breakfast," The butler said with a bow while the maid brought the breakfast to Luke’s bedside.
Luke looked at them, his eyes filled with more confusion than gratitude.
Nevertheless, he thanked the maid for her service and gave her a warm smile, which the maid returned the smile.
However, Luke couldn’t help but ask: "Excuse me, where is this? I was just fighting the devil’s reincarnation itself, and now I’m here."
The butler and maid exchanged a glance, and the maid escorted herself out the room.
The butler answered Luke’s belated question: "My name is Constance. I am a servant of the Trump Family. You are currently in the estate of the Trump Family. Not a coincidence, Master Luke."
Just by hearing where he was, Luke wanted to leave immediately.
He threw back the blanket, preparing to rise, feeling essentially under house arrest after the Trump family co-matriarch, also National Chancellor nearly killed him at the Gate of the Origin Realm.
However, Butler Constance stopped him, explaining that it wasn’t necessary.
She said, "Young Master Luke, I understand your concern, but you were not brought here with malicious intentions. You are under protection by the Patriarch of this family, as well as the President of this country."
Luke asked, "You mean I was brought here under the orders of Scarlett’s father, not her aunt? Then where is her aunt?"
Constance replied, "That’s a long story, Master Luke. What is your last memory so I can start from there?"
Luke did not depart anymore—temporarily.
He thought about his last memory, remembering the fierce battle between himself, the Ancient-grade Beast, and the ruthless summoner.
He also remembered his final moments, on the verge of death, spared by Brienne—if you can call that mercy.
"My last memory was that I was about to suffer a fatal blow, or be captured. What do you say happened after?"
