Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 159: National Chancellor Intends To Harvest Flame of Innovation
Brienne Trump.
Level 150, Ancient-Grade Summoner.
Platinum-Rank Hunter.
National Chancellor of the Confederacy.
There are only twelve Platinum-Rank Hunters in the entire world. She is one of them.
To reach Platinum rank, you must accumulate achievements that most people wouldn’t even dream of in their lives. A beast accompanies you all the way too. The importance of what you’ve fought and how far you’ve progressed can be seen from this title alone.
Brienne’s summon was the Golden Eldritch Manticore, Combat type summon and an Ancient-grade beast.
However, the Fortitude of her beast is unknown. But judging from Brienne’s battle record with it, it’s not far from evolving into a Mythic-Rank beast.
And when it reaches the Mythic-Rank, what kind of beast will it become?
Amigo is the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise, so he knows what the Golden Eldritch Manticore can evolve into. Several kinds. Each one is formidable, and none of them easy to deal with.
But right now, what surprised Amigo the most wasn’t that. He wanted to know what this thing, the Golden Eldritch Manticore, is now.
As the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise, Amigo possessed skills that allowed him to feel any danger coming even from far away, so Amigo is intrigued by the fact that the Golden Eldritch Manticore and the mistress was able to stealth through his mythic radar.
Not a single sign. And yet, here they stood.
"What kind of technique is this? And who is this person?" Luke wondered to himself as he noticed a striking resemblance between the woman and Scarlett.
No one could deny it at a glance that the woman was beautiful. Her beauty was manly and most charming.
She was as tall as a knight, yet she wasn’t wearing armor. Maybe she was so strong that she didn’t need to wear armor to fight. An ordinary hunter without armor would be a target. Not her.
Brienne was wearing a red dress with a long slit on the right, baring most of her right leg. When a gust of wind blows, the hem of her dress flutters, and it accentuates the lines of her leg.
Her hair was attractively golden and waist-length, that even the muted sky of the Wastes couldn’t dull the golden hair. And she was very curvy and endowed as a woman and looked like the kind of shape and figure Scarlett would grow up to be.
Not like. Identical.
Especially those green eyes.
No need to ask. Blood ties can’t be hidden!
Though this woman looked plenty dangerous, Luke didn’t see the danger, except for that she was blocking their path to the Origin Realm.
Brienne first looked at her niece, then at the Empyrean Phoenix behind, then at Luke, and finally, her gaze fell on the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise.
She could feel the aura coming off that turtle, a sign that something was special about it.
Brienne wore high-tech contact lenses, able to scan a living creature’s density of Aeon, judging its potential strength through that reading. When she scanned Amigo, the lens showed not just Aeon as vast as an ocean, but even something extremely rare — Primordial Energy!
"Aunt Brienne... how did you find me?" Scarlett asked in a low voice as Brienne walked to them slowly.
"Insolent. Unruly. Disobedient. Utterly Rebellious!"
With every step she took, her presence got heavier. Also, while she was walking forward, her beast stayed behind, and this gave her an aura of someone who already had this situation and the scene under control.
"Scarlett Trump. You will come home. Tractable. Amenable. Servile. And as for you, Luke..."
The air went still as Brienne paused.
During the silence, Luke confirmed that this woman was related to Scarlett and was her aunt. Scarlett’s aunt? The President’s famed sister? Platinum-Rank Hunter, and National Chancellor of the Confederacy?
"Since you have been disowned and banished from the Kingsley family, I naturally cannot call you Kingsley anymore. As families of Orders to uphold, we must respect the decisions of other families. So, what should I call you, you scoundrel?"
"Take it back, Aunt Brienne!" Scarlett shouted angrily; she would not allow anyone to insult Luke like this.
"You think coming here will intimidate us? You’re wrong. You think coming here will break us up? You’re wrong too. I love Luke more than I fear you. Perhaps this angers you because you’ve never loved anyone in your life, and no one has ever loved you."
"Enough. That does it!" Brienne yelled back at her niece furiously because these words struck a nerve.
"I’m not here to talk to you. I’m here to drag you back by force. As for him—I have a score to settle with him."
"A score to settle?" Luke asked. "Excuse my bluntness, National Chancellor. What have I done, exactly, to deserve this from you? You said it yourself— I’m not a Kingsley anymore. So that means I’m just an ordinary man off the street. Why bother going to any trouble over me?"
"That pitiful, innocent look you’re putting on won’t save you," Brienne replied. "What little mercy I have left is only enough to give you one thing—a chance to court your own death."
Whoosh!
Scarlett swung her sword, the blade’s aura slicing through the air, her stance leaving no doubt where she stood. She asked a cry from Empyrean Phoenix, aimed at the Platinum rank hunter.
"Drop the scheming. He’s not taking any deal that stabs him in the back..."
"Haha."
Brienne laughed.
Laughing at Scarlett standing before her with her flaming sword. Laughing at her using the phoenix to intimidate her. And laughing at her thinking she was giving Luke a choice when she was giving him an ultimatum.
This girl, still too green.
"That’s the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise!" Brienne proclaimed, very sure of herself as she pointed at Amigo, and Amigo, busted, was shocked.
"You think I can’t even see that? You underestimate me. The Heavenly Immortal Tortoise, a Mythic-tier Beast. It can support the scale of planets, stars, and the cosmos. Immortal and mortal, life and death, beginning and end, all rely on it to bridge them. Tell me, how could something like this fall into your hands? Back then, when everyone watched you awaken, you only had a Metal Gauntlet."
Luke gritted his teeth.
Amigo also gritted his teeth.
Who was this woman? What right did she have to expose his identity to his face so belligerently?
And Brienne wasn’t finished. It seems she knows everything about Luke’s ability to revive Mythic-tier Beasts, and that he could summon Ancient-Rank and Mythical-Rank Beast Armor. If it was really calculated, he was the strongest Summoner—the one called a good-for-nothing had completely become the opposite.
"That Beast Armor of yours is truly extraordinary," she said. "A human can obtain the abilities of a Beast by putting on Beast Armor? Ape Gauntlet. Dragon Wings. Elephant Leg Armor. And that Mythical-Rank Serpent Body Armor. You relied on this very technique to bring the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise back to life? By putting a helmet on it?"
Luke gripped his spear tightly, narrowed his eyes, and answered cautiously, "What if I say yes? What do you want to do?"
"You will serve me and my cause. I intend to revive my own encyclopedia of beasts and bring back the era of the strongest beasts before the apocalypse descends upon us once again. Your abilities will be under my command, and your only purpose will be to help me accomplish this, and be grateful that I have chosen to spare your life."
"How can you be so vicious?" Scarlett exploded. "At first, you said Luke wasn’t strong enough and wasn’t worthy of me because he had no War Beast and had only awakened a Gauntlet. Now that you see he’s strong, you refuse to acknowledge him. Instead, you want to exploit him for your own use!"
"Strong?" Brennie sneered. "Or was it fortune that fell from the heavens? Even if he revived a God Beast, I would never acknowledge him. That is not his own talent. It’s an undeserved Blessing. In the end, he is still a Beast Armor Summoner. I would never use such a method to defile the family’s bloodline.
But this fortune of his must be used nevertheless. It cannot be wasted."
"I’m sorry, Speaker," Luke said. "I have no interest in any of the things you’ve arranged for me. To chase after two young teenagers decades younger and far weaker than you, just to intimidate and manipulate them, is frankly a bit shameful. It’s clear you’ve been very shrewd in choosing your opponents since your awakening."
Brienne gritted her teeth!
The little bit of friendliness left on her face just now disappeared instantly.
"Then don’t be a servant. Be a slave. Your blessings, I will squeeze them dry bit by bit and use them for my cause. Your autonomy, your dignity—I leave nothing."
She raised her hand, asking her beast to come forward.
The Golden Eldritch Manticore. Its name was Mogul.
Mogul crawled obediently to the face-off, towering above its master, thirty feet tall. Its huge body loomed over Brienne like a mountain, while she stood at the center beneath the mountain. Soon, that bloody, rotten aura smell filled the air.
"Luke Kingsley, you will witness true horror."
