Otaku Witch
Chapter 2295 - 1147: A Cooperation Cut Short
Chapter 2295: Chapter 1147: A Cooperation Cut Short
"Cooperate?"
Dorothy heard Michael’s words from the other side, froze for a moment, a bit surprised.
She really hadn’t expected this proud Miss Seraph to take the initiative to come to her asking for cooperation—after all, no matter how you looked at it, heaven’s side clearly had the upper hand right now.
The homebody witch sized up the War Angel and Priest Angel standing beneath the temple on the screen. Even through a screen she could feel how strong these people were; this whole lineup was pure Angels of Wisdom or Throne Angels–Level High-Order Angels, and every single one of them started at Eight Wings.
Eight-Winged Angels, huh. That combat power definitely isn’t inferior to a Peak Witch.
Especially those few Angels at the front of the formation, who even had Ten Wings.
The highest King of Angels is only Twelve-Winged; Ten Wings basically means a second-tier powerhouse in heaven right below the King of Angels, the equivalent of a Sage Level witch.
You could only say heaven really went all-in this time, actually dispatching Ten-winged Angels—and not just one.
So, just from the lineup shown in this comms feed alone, the Angel Fleet’s combat power already surpassed the mixed fleet under Dorothy and the others.
After all, don’t be fooled by the fact that Dorothy’s side technically also had a few Sage Level combat powers, but...
Mm, on Japan there were two Golden Immortals, namely Miss Divine Witch Amaterasu Mikoto Kikyo and the Yellow Springs Yanluo King Shiki Enma, it’s just that both Golden Immortals were sealed into a "draw-a-circle-and-call-it-a-prison" sickly state.
Miss Divine Witch couldn’t leave Japan, the Yan Luo King couldn’t leave the underworld; unless they could lure the enemy into Japan’s interior, those two Golden Immortals could only provide defensive support, no real offensive power.
And if you didn’t count Japan’s side, then all that was left to look at were the trinkets hanging off Dorothy.
First, the newly joined Miss Snake King Dragon Patmel was definitely a Sage Level existence; back in the day she was a top powerhouse who could even compete for the Dragon God’s throne. Her strength definitely wasn’t something a random Ten-winged Angel could match, but she was just a remaining remnant soul now, and who knew how much power she could still exert after fusing with Hundred-Head Slayer.
Then there was the homebody witch’s greatest source of security: the ancestral necklace hanging around her neck. With Yemengade’s strength, forget this Angel Fleet; even if you threw the Angel Fleet in together with the Mechanical Wilderness, Dorothy had not the slightest doubt that this Ancestral Elder could easily solo the whole thing. However...
"Qian, don’t look at me. I’m not going to make a move lightly, I can’t even casually leak my Qi, otherwise everyone will just get scared off instantly. I’ll only act at the most critical moment. Of course, if you insist on me making a move, I can just swallow the Mechanical Wilderness right now and we go straight home."
Miss Dragon Serpent yawned as she said this.
Dorothy: "..."
The homebody witch fell silent for a moment.
This Mechanical Wilderness banquet was originally a Hongmen Banquet jointly set up by the Devil King and Lord Dragon King; what kind of banquet has the executioner rush out before the dishes are even served? So Yemengade’s reasoning was very sound. Of course, Dorothy always felt that when this Ancestral Elder said she couldn’t casually make a move, what she really meant was she found it troublesome and couldn’t be bothered. Otherwise, with the skills of a Transformation Magic Master, changing her face and pinching out a smurf account would be easy.
"Then forget it, Elder, you just rest."
Anyway, since this slothful Ancestral Elder had already said so, Dorothy naturally wouldn’t press her, and in the first place this was supposed to be a mission for the youngsters themselves. The forces on Japan were technically her own subordinates, so that was whatever, but if Yemengade made a move, that’d be straight-up "can’t play anymore, calling the parents in." The homebody witch felt she still had at least a bit of pride of her own.
So, after all the mental math, the only Sage Level combat power on Dorothy’s side who could actually move ended up being the Hat Senior Sister sitting on her head.
But senior Fanny was still insane, and if they wanted her to truly unleash Sage Level Strength, they would have to fuse into Black Impermanence together.
Also, once they entered the Mechanical Wilderness she was planning to have senior Fanny start Slaying the Three Corpses to cure her illness. Who knew whether anything unexpected would happen then, or how much Strength senior would have left after slaying the Three Corpses—no one could say for sure.
In short, her squad really was the complete "lazy, young, sick, disabled" set.
Dorothy had originally planned to find a corner to rat around and see if there was any chance to jungle and farm up first after entering the Mechanical Wilderness; but now heaven’s Michael suddenly jumped out and said she could carry her, which really was a bit of a pleasant surprise.
Only...
"Your Highness, you mustn’t. Witches are treacherous."
"Your Highness, please put the bigger picture first."
"Your Highness, both the Abyss and the Dragon Realm are eyeing this operation covetously. You must not underestimate them."
.....
Dorothy hadn’t even answered yet when she saw the Angels on the comms feed start making a fuss among themselves.
Seeing that this young crown princess, Michael, actually intended to cooperate with witches, the civil and military elder ministers beneath the temple immediately couldn’t sit still, all of them starting to remonstrate, urging Her Highness to stay calm.
Nothing else for it—though Michael’s Angel ministers were her followers, assigned to her by heaven as her future core team, she was still young and not yet a true King of Angels, so for now it was a situation of a weak monarch with strong ministers.
Many of the Angels below were in fact serving as Michael’s teachers, responsible for instructing this future ruler in how to become a qualified King of Angels.
In short, nominally Michael was the leader, but for truly major decisions she still had to carefully consult with the ministers below. This Miss Seraph had yet to possess the true authority of a King.
