Only Living Person in This Chat Group
Chapter 96: Ghost Domain
Ghost Cave was about to deploy its ghost domain.
This thought flashed through Gao Tian's mind.
A ghost domain was a privilege reserved only for the most powerful Fierce Ghosts.
Gao Tian had personally experienced one before at Xu Yuan's old home—the ghost domain of the President of Galan Society, though that had only been a simplified version.
Xu Yuan's ghost domain was an alternate dimension of eternal flames, much like purgatory. As soon as a living person left the protection of the White House and stepped into that space, they would instantly burn to a skeleton without even the chance to beg for mercy.
"Rat. Did you think you could rest easy just because you hid in the mirror?"
From outside the mirror, Ghost Cave calmly explained the power of its ghost domain. "My domain is called the Hole."
"The Hole's effect is very simple. Once deployed, thousands of square meters of space with me at the center will be pulled into my Hole.
"Outside the Hole, no human or ghost can enter, not even with spatial items. Similarly, no human or ghost inside can leave.
"It remains exactly the same, even if you are in the Mirror World."Gao Tian turned around and looked into the deep darkness of the Mirror World.
Far in the distance, a thin black ring had appeared, trapping a portion of the area—including the long white corridor—and slicing it right down the middle.
Ghost Cave's ability functioned on a conceptual level. The area enveloped by the Hole was completely isolated, barring all entry and exit regardless of whether it was reality, an alternate dimension, or a parallel world.
Even instantaneous teleportation tools like the Mirror Ghost or the Black Card could not cross the boundary of the black ring.
Ghost Cave pressed its hollow face against the mirror and continued describing its power. "The entire building has already entered the range of my Hole. Not a single rat or fly on this floor can escape.
"At the same time, my black ring will gradually shrink, tightening inward at regular intervals. Anything left outside the ring will be forcibly pulled inside.
"In about ten minutes, the entire ring will shrink from thousands of square meters to the size of a marble.
"Take a guess. There are tens of thousands of people in this building. When the time comes, everyone will be compressed into a tiny marble with a bang—and naturally, that includes you. What do you think will happen?
"It must feel amazing to be part of a meatball made of tens of thousands of crushed people."
Ghost Cave had issued its death ultimatum. "Even if you hide behind the mirror, you will be forcibly dragged out once the black ring shrinks to a certain point.
"Inside my ghost domain, no one can leave the confines of the black ring. My concept overrides yours."
In reality, there was no need to wait until the black ring shrank to the size of a marble; the entire building had already begun to warp and collapse.
The highest floors, which sat at the outermost edge of the ghost ring, were being crushed by a bizarre force as the perimeter closed in.
The building was a single framework. When the top floors collapsed, it wouldn't just be the people on those floors who died. The building's support pillars would fail, and everyone inside would be buried alive long before they could be compressed into a meatball.
Outside the mirror on the eleventh floor, the ceiling had already begun to fracture, sending countless shards raining down evenly.
"Ghost Cave, don't take this too far.
"Killing this many people in the city center will provoke the Supernatural Disaster Bureau to intervene!
"Those ghost hunters are a nightmare to deal with. It will be troublesome if we catch their attention!"
Ghost Infant maintained her rationality as she berated Ghost Cave. "That's enough for today. The boss will determine whether the Memory Ghost is a living person or not."
Ghost Cave turned a deaf ear to her, staring only at Gao Tian inside the mirror. "Are you still going to spout arrogant nonsense?
"Saying things like, 'Stop killing people, it's for your own good.' Who gave you the confidence to speak to me like that?"
Gao Tian could sense that the cracking floors and collapsing support pillars on the top level had already caused numerous casualties.
The Black Tie was in an unprecedented state of excitement.
How many had died? Twenty-three, twenty-seven, thirty-one, thirty-four—
The death toll continued to climb. The black cloud above Gao Tian's head, representing his Ghost Luck, was already two stories tall. Thick, blood-vessel-like objects pulsed faintly within the black mist, writhing like swimming dragons.
Considering his darkest, most selfish desires, Gao Tian knew that as long as the people around him kept dying, his Fortune would eventually grow strong enough to defeat these two Fierce Ghosts and solve the Chat Group problem once and for all.
However, he simply couldn't bear it. He couldn't watch an entire floor of people die for his sake, turned into sacrifices for the Black Tie.
That was why he had given Ghost Cave one final warning to stop killing. It truly had been for its own good.
Of course, Gao Tian knew in his heart that Ghost Cave wouldn't listen to his advice.
But he still had to go through the motions.
When the number of spirits absorbed by the Black Tie reached fifty-seven, Gao Tian felt an unprecedented sensation wash over his entire body. Every cell in his body trembled. Even if Xu Yuan and the Multi-Headed Ghost were standing in front of him right now, he was absolutely confident he could put up a fight.
The gods in heaven and the devils in hell were all standing on his side. The Fortune of the entire world had converged upon him. This feeling of confidence was impossible to express with words.
There was no longer any need to hide. The perfect moment for the final battle had arrived.
No longer hesitating, Gao Tian strode out of the mirror, stepping right into the crumbling Jinhai Building.
Seeing the Memory Ghost act recklessly enough to step out of the mirror willingly, Ghost Cave was visibly taken aback. But then, it relaxed. "What? Did you finally realize you couldn't escape this ordeal, so you walked out on your own?
"If you had just done this earlier, wouldn't it have been fine—"
Halfway through its sentence, Ghost Cave struck without warning. A black arm extended like a pole, clawing straight toward Gao Tian's heart.
Gao Tian merely stood where he was. With a look of pity in his eyes, he calmly watched Ghost Cave launch its assault.
Just as the left side of his chest was about to be torn open, the floor beneath their feet suddenly fractured. The entire eleventh floor split apart under the massive deformation of the building.
Ghost Cave, Gao Tian, and Ghost Infant all plummeted toward the tenth floor.
Gao Tian simply stood on a massive slab of stone, not even bothering to lift his head. Ghost Cave instantly lost its balance. Its black hand brushed past him, failing to even scratch Gao Tian's clothes.
"What, haven't you eaten?
"Can you not even aim properly?"
Watching Ghost Cave fall to the tenth floor and get pinned under a collapsed stone pillar, Gao Tian—still standing as steady as if he were on flat ground—openly mocked it.
Ghost Cave casually shoved off the stone pillar crushing it. Just as it prepared to attack again, the floor cracked open once more, and everyone on the tenth floor began plummeting down to the ninth.
"This is—"
Ghost Cave gradually realized something was wrong. Every time the thought of attacking arose in its mind, the very floor the three of them were on would perfectly fracture, causing it to lose its center of gravity and ruining its aim.
However, this was no big deal. This Memory Ghost had already been forced out of the mirror by the ghost domain. Dying by its hand was only a matter of time.
The framework of the entire Jinhai Building was collapsing floor by floor. The three of them fell from the eighth floor to the seventh, and then plunged toward the sixth without a moment's pause.
"Finish this quickly! Kill this Memory Ghost, and we'll leave this place immediately!"
Amidst the chaos, Ghost Infant finally made her move. She extended a puppet-like arm and pointed a finger directly at the falling Gao Tian, seemingly activating some sort of Killing Rule.
No matter how many floors they dropped, Gao Tian remained firmly planted on an intact slab of stone. His hands were stuffed in his pockets, and even his hair was undisturbed. It formed a stark contrast to Ghost Infant and Ghost Cave, who were falling in a miserable state, constantly battered by heavy debris.
Gao Tian saw Ghost Infant's finger pointing at him, yet he remained completely motionless. He couldn't even be bothered to dodge.
"Do you want to die that badly?"
As long as her fingertip pointed at the target, the Killing Rule would take effect. Ghost Infant felt that Gao Tian would definitely be hit this time.
But in that split second, a large, fat man suddenly plummeted from above, pinned down by a massive computer desk. He fell perfectly into the path between Ghost Infant and Gao Tian.
"What the hell is this?"
Her finger's target was forcibly shifted from Gao Tian to the fat man. At the same time, under the influence of Ghost Infant's Killing Rule, the fat man's stomach began to bulge at an extreme speed. His shirt tore apart, and the purple-blue hands of an infant could be seen squirming just beneath the skin of his belly, ready to tear through its host and break out at any moment.
The shrill, mournful cries of a baby echoed through the air.
This Killing Rule of Ghost Infant dictated that whoever she pointed at would gestate a ghost infant within seconds.
It was just that the victim had become the unlucky fat man who had fallen from the sky.
"Kill me!"
The fat man cursed by Ghost Infant was in extreme agony, letting out a heart-wrenching roar. He could feel something crawling its way out of his body. The pain was so agonizing that he would rather die on the spot than become a vessel for a ghost infant.
Gao Tian directly activated the Terror Blade in his hand, sacrificing the man.
At this point, he had no choice but to offer him to the blade. First, to end the man's suffering early, and second, to interrupt the incubation process of the ghost infant.
If he didn't kill this fat man, a new ghost would be born into this world.
After sacrificing him to the blade, Gao Tian turned around again and unleashed an incomparably powerful slash toward Ghost Cave.
If he wanted to stop the Jinhai Building from collapsing, the most urgent priority was to terminate Ghost Cave's ghost domain. Eradicating Ghost Cave was the only way.
The blade aura flashed by. Without a single word, Ghost Cave's entire spectral body was smoothly cleaved into two perfect halves.
"Huh? Why is my body split in half?"
Ghost Cave had severely underestimated the sheer ferocity of the Terror Blade. Even after being dismembered, it still had no idea what had just happened.
But even so, the effect of the ghost domain, the Hole, did not end.
The entire Jinhai Building was still collapsing, and the speed of its destruction was only accelerating.
Ghosts couldn't die. Even if it was chopped into eight pieces, its ghost domain would continue to hold.
'Is there any way to forcibly terminate Ghost Cave's ghost domain?'
Gao Tian pondered.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that the two separate halves of Ghost Cave's body were slowly drawing toward each other, preparing to fuse back together.
Ghost Cave's recovery speed had also exceeded Gao Tian's expectations.
The immortal and indestructible nature of ghosts was truly terrifying.
Just as he was further contemplating a strategy to completely eliminate the menace that was Ghost Cave, a faint, eerie voice echoed from behind him. "Hehe, caught you.
"Let's see where you can run this time."
Turning his head, he saw the ragdoll-like face of Ghost Infant, inches away from his own.
