One Piece: Getting Stronger by Writing a Diary

Chapter 563 - 732 – Hina Wants to Do It Herself

Spandam was a high-ranking official of Enies Lobby. Killing him would effectively be a declaration of war against the World Government.

Although killing Spandam could not compare to killing a Celestial Dragon, Ain still felt it was something well worth doing.

All she had to do was take Spandam away from Enies Lobby and kill him somewhere crowded with people.

Someone would naturally report the incident to the Marines and the World Government.

Zephyr-sensei might be deeply hurt when he learned about it, but Ain could no longer afford to worry so much.

Zephyr-sensei would leave the Marines sooner or later anyway. Even if he misunderstood her now, Ain believed he would eventually understand her.

What Ain did not know was that Zephyr trusted her far more than she imagined.

Even if Ain openly killed Spandam in front of a crowd, Zephyr's first thought would not be that she had become a dangerous criminal.

He would immediately suspect that Arton had forced her to do it.

At that point, Zephyr's opinion of Arton would only grow worse.

Of course, Arton would not care even if he knew.

Zephyr could not defeat him, and as long as Zephyr posed no threat, Arton did not care what he thought.

What puzzled him now was why Ain had hidden this so-called nomination certificate from him.

"A nomination certificate? What are you planning to do with that thing?"

Arton shook his head.

"I already trust you completely, Ain. There's no need to bother with that."

Although Arton still had some doubts about Ain insisting on remaining with his pirate crew, he did not intend to dwell on them.

After all, Ain's efforts had been genuine. Arton had no reason not to trust her.

"Thank you for trusting me, Captain."

Ain placed both hands over her chest, deeply moved by his faith in her.

"Even so, I still hope you'll let me do this."

"Only by doing this will I feel that I have truly become a member of the Flameblade Pirates—your exclusive crewmate."

Ain pleaded with him.

"You... Fine. Since this is something you want to do, go ahead."

Arton spread his hands helplessly.

Strictly speaking, Ain had no need to do anything like this. However, since she had already gone this far, it was difficult for Arton to refuse her as both her captain and a man.

Whatever Zephyr thought afterward, Arton did not care.

"Um... may I say something?"

Hina suddenly spoke to the two of them.

"What is it? Don't tell me you want a nomination certificate too."

Arton asked.

"I don't need one."

Hina brushed her pink hair behind her head and smiled.

Simply leaving Enies Lobby was already something the World Government would never permit.

She did not need any special display of allegiance. The act of leaving Enies Lobby alone was enough for the World Government to place her on a kill list.

"That's true. There's really no need for a nomination certificate."

Arton nodded approvingly.

"However, I want to kill Spandam myself."

Hina looked at Ain as she spoke.

"You still want to?"

Ain's eyes widened as she stared at Hina in surprise.

"Senior Hina, that wouldn't be appropriate. Spandam is the prey I found first."

Ain planted both hands on her hips and pretended to be angry.

"Sorry, Ain."

Hina sighed.

"You must have heard the things that bastard Spandam said to me earlier."

"After hearing all that, Hina truly cannot forgive him."

"Please, at the very least, allow Hina to deliver the final blow."

Even now, remembering Spandam's earlier words and what he had planned to do still filled her with intense fury.

Only killing him with her own hands could calm that rage.

Since leaving with Arton and becoming a member of the Flameblade Pirates would inevitably place a bounty on her head from the Marines and the World Government, Hina felt she might as well use Spandam's death to earn that bounty herself.

Arton looked at Hina, then at Ain, before silently taking a step back.

He thought it would be best not to interfere.

This matter should be left to Hina and Ain, the two people directly involved.

Spandam was merely an insignificant nobody. Arton had no intention of personally dealing with him.

Whether Hina or Ain ultimately killed him made no difference to Arton.

What Arton had not expected was that Spandam would be so popular.

Of course, had Spandam still been conscious, he probably would not have been pleased that Ain and Hina were fighting over the chance to kill him.

He would most likely have cried and begged them both for mercy.

Arton believed that if it truly came to that, Ain might hesitate temporarily, but Hina would never forgive Spandam.

"Please, Ain."

Hina clasped her hands together and pleaded with her.

"You may do whatever you want to Spandam in front of everyone, even injure him."

"But please allow Hina to deliver the final blow."

Ain fell silent.

She looked at Hina with complicated emotions.

She had never imagined that Senior Hina would one day beg her.

Even more unexpectedly, Hina was pleading with her over something like this.

After thinking about it, however, Ain understood.

Had she been in Hina's position and experienced Spandam's threats herself, she too would have wanted to deal with him personally.

Ain sighed deeply.

"Fine. Since Senior Hina is asking so earnestly, refusing would only make me seem unreasonable."

"I'll leave the final blow against Spandam to you, Senior Hina."

Hina smiled.

"Thank you, Ain. Also, please stop calling Hina 'Senior.'"

"Compared to Hina, you're the true senior now."

After all, Ain had joined Arton's Flameblade Pirates before she had.

Although Hina had met Arton long ago, she had still held hope for the Marines and the World Government at the time, causing her to miss her chance to join him.

Still, it isn't too late to join now.

Hina thought to herself.
