Chapter 1008: Crocodile’s Innate Skill: Taunt
Chapter 1008: Chapter 1008: Crocodile’s Innate Skill: Taunt
Being able to sit at a table and eat with her family like normal people had always been Charlotte Linlin’s dream. It was also a way to make up for the painful regret that there were no giants in her kingdom, Totto Land.
To that end, she had invested astronomical sums of money into "Human Giantification" experiments, desperate to achieve her goal through scientific means.
However, while the "Human Giantification" experiments had indeed succeeded, the technology was no longer in her hands. To make matters worse, it was now being used against her by her enemies. This infuriated her to no end; every time she saw the fruits of that research, her blood boiled with rage.
She had specifically dispatched subordinates to demand Caesar Clown from Doflamingo, only for Caesar to inform her that he possessed only a fraction of the research data. The core, key technology had been developed by the scientists of the Chris Pirates.
Furthermore, with Golden Ring Aeridar behind Caesar, and Kaido of the Beasts looming in the shadows, she had no choice but to push forward with her previous plan: wage war against the Chris Pirates.
Charlotte Linlin roared, swinging her massive blade downward. Aeridar, having transformed into a miniature giant, showed not a hint of fear, meeting the blow with three fists.
The pitch-black iron fists collided with the sharp blade of Napoleon in an instant.
Suddenly, a thunderous boom erupted in the sky, sharp as a lightning strike in a clear sky. A distorted ripple of air swept outward, spreading like ripples on a pond, accompanied by dozens of red and black lightning bolts that crackled wildly across the horizon.
The sheer power transmitted through the air triggered a violent tremor, generating a fierce storm that swept outward and shredded the clouds for hundreds of meters in every direction.
A flicker of red light flashed in Aeridar’s eyes. With a soft "pop," he vanished into thin air.
In the next instant, Zeus surged with brilliant electrical light, unleashing a bolt of lightning as thick as a barrel from above.
"Thunderbolt!"
The lightning streaked across the sky in a millisecond, slamming into the battlefield below. With a deafening "boom," it gouged a charred, massive crater into the earth, filled with the indistinguishable, blackened corpses of those caught in the blast.
Almost simultaneously, Aeridar appeared out of thin air behind Charlotte Linlin, throwing a punch into empty space. The immense impact force pushed the air in front of him, forming a violent, ring-shaped shockwave that blasted outward.
Suddenly, Prometheus, perched atop Charlotte Linlin’s head, opened his maw and spewed a torrent of scorching flames, instantly forming a vast sea of fire in the sky. The intense heat distorted the very air, and with a thunderous "boom," it collided with the shockwave.
A violent storm, fueled by fire, erupted outward like a tidal wave of flame, turning the sky into a terrifying sea of destruction.
Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind tore through the sea of fire, which spanned nearly a hundred meters, carving a massive void. A dark shadow surged out from the flames at high speed.
"Bastard! Take this!"
Charlotte Linlin spun around, roaring, her right hand gripping Napoleon. The blazing inferno instantly engulfed the blade, forming a Sword of Flame. The high heat warped the surrounding air as she swung the sword down with savage intent.
"Forget one strike, what’s it to me if you throw ten or a hundred?!"
Aeridar roared back, devoid of a shred of fear, throwing his fists into the air in front of him.
Crack!
The atmosphere itself splintered, dozens of fissures tearing through the sky and spreading over a dozen meters in an instant.
The terrifying force of the vibration erupted, cascading forward through the air. Had this been on solid ground, it would have shattered the earth itself.
"Damnable vibration power!"
Charlotte Linlin was beyond furious, but her flaming sword was deadlocked by the opponent’s Airquake, unable to push an inch further.
The two sides stood in a standoff for a moment; the cracks in the air grew more numerous and longer, and Charlotte Linlin continuously poured more power into her blade.
Seeing the situation, Prometheus flew to high altitude, opening his mouth to rain down massive fireballs like meteors.
"What a nuisance!"
Aeridar looked up, his brow furrowing as he voluntarily withdrew his strength and teleported away from the spot.
Boom, boom, boom, boom...
Meteor after meteor of fire descended, slamming into the battlefield and kicking up waves of destruction. In the blink of an eye, the land for hundreds of meters was turned into a sea of flame, and countless men from both the Chris Pirates and the Big Mom Pirates were incinerated or severely burned.
"Zhurong!"
Aeridar appeared a hundred meters away from Charlotte Linlin and shouted toward the ground below.
"I’m here, Master!"
A moment later, a massive, scorching fireball shot into the sky from the Chris Pirates’ camp, accompanied by a crisp, clear voice.
Soon, two giant fireballs hung in the sky, appearing like two extra suns. They radiated such intense heat that within a dozen miles, the temperature became stifling and unbearable.
"It’s so hot!"
"Why are there two suns in the sky?"
"One is Prometheus-sama! But what is that other thing? Did Mama make another Homie?"
"Zhurong-sama has also entered the fray; it seems they are here to hold off the sun, Prometheus!"
On the battlefield at Unzan Port, countless people looked up at the two "suns" in the high sky, soaked in sweat and parched from the sudden, scorching heat.
"That living flame called the Fire God, Zhurong, has appeared. They say it was the one who injured Prometheus. It seems Mama won’t be able to defeat that man quickly!" Katakuri stood at the edge of the front lines, looking up at the sky. Around him lay fields of corpses, the dismembered remains of a "Dragonian," and several dismantled Devil Mechanical Spiders.
Just then, a gust of sand whipped through the air. Katakuri’s eyes flashed with a red glow as he leaped backward.
The next second, the airborne yellow sand condensed into Crocodile’s upper body. His right arm, however, had transformed into a massive sand blade that elongated with terrifying speed. With a "boom," it pierced through the very spot where Katakuri had been standing a moment before.
"Fast reaction. Is that the future-sight of Observation Haki?" Crocodile frowned as he landed from mid-air, retracting his sand blade arm and leaving a three-meter-long, deep gash in the ground.
"Crocodile, I never expected you to turn against Mama and join forces with Oliver to hurt Cracker. This is truly unforgivable!" Katakuri narrowed his eyes, staring coldly at Crocodile.
Puff~
Crocodile chomped on his cigar, exhaling a ring of smoke. He cast a listless, indifferent glance at Katakuri and said with a look of disdain:
"So what if she’s Big Mom? She’s nothing more than a dead old hag with a hobby for popping out kids. Even if Aeridar doesn’t take her head, I’ll find a chance to take it myself!"
He was a man who had even dared to try and take Whitebeard’s head; why would he ever fear a woman like Big Mom?
Instantly, Katakuri’s gaze locked onto Crocodile, his eyes burning with intense murderous intent. For someone like him who usually kept his cool, being taunted about his mother caused his rage to skyrocket.
"I will tear that sand-crocodile mouth of yours open and hang you from the mast to dry for ten days and ten nights, just to see if you can still spew filth!"
Instantly, Katakuri’s wrists morphed into white, sticky mochi liquid, splitting open as he pulled out a trident. Gripping the weapon, he dashed forward in a sudden, explosive burst of speed.
