Chapter 159/You Are Cheating on Alexander
Chapter 159: 159/You Are Cheating on Alexander
Chapter 159
Stephanie’s point of view
I tried again impulsively, raising my entire body on my tiptoes to reach his hand raised into the sky, but to no avail worth mentioning. He noticed my extreme agitation and the closeness of my body, and said in a low, slimy hiss: "Perhaps you need to come closer to get it..."
I took an additional step, forced under the weight of need and the rage that blinded me to the consequences. At that critical moment when I raised my hand for the third time in despair, his other free palm extended with a movement swift as lightning and gripped my slender waist with power and force, violently spinning my body and shocking me by pinning my entire back against the ice-cold metal of my car. He trapped me with his towering height, his bulk, and his weight, such that there was no longer a single inch or space for air between our bodies.
His hot, heavy breaths enveloped my face violently while my small palms tensed and stiffened against his broad chest, attempting to push him away. He spoke, his eyes piercing the depths of mine with a terrifying darkness: "It indeed seems that this small phone of yours is full of filthy things and secrets you do not want a creature on the face of this earth to know at all... to the point that you come in this stormy rain and cold to search for it."
I shouted because of his suffocating entrapment that cut off my breath: "Get away from me, you lowlife! Give me my phone immediately and let me go!"
A brief, heavy, and terrifying silence reigned between us, during which his hawk-like eyes did not stop examining the features of my pale, panicked face deeply and with relish.
Suddenly, without introduction, his harsh, mocking tone softened, and he said in a low, raspy voice close to my lips: "For one fleeting moment at the restaurant... I actually thought about apologizing to you for everything that happened inside that locked restroom."
I was completely astonished by his words, and my body stiffened between his hands as I listened to this specific word from his arrogant mouth. I said in disbelief and condemnation: "You, in your person and with all this tyranny... apologize?!"
He nodded his head lightly with a cold smile: "Yes... though I never do this for any creature."
I smiled with a bitter mockery and said: "And what are you waiting for then? Apologize and get the hell out of my face!"
He replied with a definitive coldness, narrowing his blue pupils harshly: "I backed away from the idea entirely tonight."
I said with utter contempt and spat the words: "That is certainly not surprising at all from a sick and filthy person like you."
He commented, his blue eyes boldly contemplating my lips, which were trembling from the cold and fear: "Yes... it is indeed not surprising for me."
Sinister, dark, and terrifying smiles suddenly etched onto his lips. He lowered his head slowly to whisper beside my earlobe in a tone cold as death, freezing the blood in my veins like collapsing snow: "But what truly surprised me and shocked my mind... is that you are cheating on Alexander."
In those seconds, I felt as if the earth had split open beneath my feet to swallow me. The chill of death crept to reach the extremities of my body, leaving me completely paralyzed. I tried with all the pride, strength, and remaining dignity within me to maintain the stability of my tone to hide the trembling and collapse that struck my entire being. I said with a rasp that constricted my throat: "What... what is this nonsense, absurdity, and filth that your sick tongue speaks?! I am not cheating on anyone!"
He replied with a provocative calmness: "Am I lying, Mrs. Volkov?"
I screamed in panic and terror that tried to hide behind anger and a raised voice: "Yes, you are lying with fabrication! You are a sick, narcissistic man, and you say anything to destroy me!"
He brought his face terrifyingly closer, until his hot breaths clung to my cheek, which was as pale as death.
He spoke words that descended upon my head like a thunderbolt and an earthquake, demolishing in seconds all my walls of defense and existence in this world: "Are you not cheating on him in secret with his younger brother... Cedric?"
I froze in my tracks like a lifeless corpse, feeling my breath come to a complete halt as the walls of the world around me collapsed to crush me. My gaze froze on his confident features, and at that moment, Vincente’s face appeared to me like a demon that had emerged from the depths of hell to seize my soul. How did he know? How did he reach this secret?
I took a ragged breath, attempting in vain to push his solid chest with both of my trembling palms to get away from him, but he was like an immovable steel wall. I said in a lost, raspy voice, trying to cling to the very last strings of denial: "You... you are wretched... and sick! Get away from me! Cedric is my husband’s brother... how dare you utter such filth?!"
He tilted his head with a deathly slowness, and that dark, sinister smile never left his lips. Instead, I saw him fiddle with my phone screen, which illuminated his face with a faint glow.
My stomach contracted in panic, and I shouted with panting breaths: "What on earth are you doing?! Give me my phone!"
He did not listen to me at all. He tapped the screen with a provocative coldness, and suddenly, a voice erupted from the phone’s speaker a voice I recognized well enough to wake the dead from their graves. It was Kira’s voice.
Her trembling tone seeped into the cold air to say: "Stephanie... I’ve called you so many times and you aren’t answering, so I’m sending you this voice note urgently. Watch out for Valentina, for heaven’s sake! You cannot go to Cedric’s room while she is in the mansion because she will definitely see you and tell Alexander immediately... Steph, you cannot fuck both of them, especially during this sensitive period! Please, Steph, don’t ruin your life and turn your back on everything... Goodbye, we’ll talk later."
The audio stopped, and the silence of the night returned to blanket the place with a heavy weight that suffocated whatever air remained in my lungs. At that exact moment, I wished with all my being that the earth would split open beneath my feet and swallow my existence inside it so I could disappear in the midst of my ultimate oppression.
I could not believe or rather, my mind flatly refused to comprehend that Vincente had listened to the secret of my life with such sickening clarity. I looked into his eyes; the mocking, malicious glints had vanished from them, and for the first time, I saw a cold, sharp, and biting look of contempt in them, so intense that I felt the sheer ugliness and atrocity of what I was doing.
Is this how I appear in the eyes of others? A whore twisting between two brothers?
My clenched grip on his chest loosened in complete weakness, and my hands fell back in collapse. Vincente lowered the phone slowly, looking at me from head to toe with that disgusting, judgmental gaze that sliced my pride to the quick.
Then, he spoke in a low, sharp voice dripping with utter disdain: "Ah... Miss Miller... wasn’t Alexander enough for you that you had to fuck his brother too?!"
