Xiso's words were serious, without a hint of hesitation, completely different from the comforting tone he used with Igor earlier.

Igor sensed the difference and swallowed hard, then nodded forcefully to show his understanding.

No matter what, they had to be prepared, not only in action but also mentally.

Because the adversary's strength was formidable, this was evident to all and could not be compensated for with numbers.

The power of the Shadow Ghost did not stem from extensive experience or a long history; his strength lay in the fact that he was a Spirit himself.

The reason Adventurers with Class were stronger than ordinary people was their ability to utilize Spirit Power effectively, which involved the Spirit facilitating the Transformation of Energy. Adventurers and Spirits collaborated, enabling the Spirit to aid in energy gathering. This Equivalent Exchange made Adventurers reliant on the power of Spirits, and vice versa.

The Shadow Ghost had transcended this dependency, wielding energy independently without summoning an Adventurer. Moreover, as an ambitious Spirit, he could also control other Spirits...

This disparity in energy manipulation was evident. Once a conflict erupted, the disadvantage for Adventurers would be pronounced, especially since many still served this Shadow Ghost now.

"The situation we face is dire. No matter what, we must be ready for a long-standing battle," Xiso said quietly.

"A long-standing battle..." Igor wasn't very familiar with the concept, hoping Xiso would elaborate more.

"Right now, we can't determine exactly where Kuyi Tulan is. We only vaguely assume he's operating in the Vero Realm or the Ghost Realm. Their current plan must be to pick the low-hanging fruit..."

Igor felt Xiso was digressing more and more, going off-topic. He initially asked about the long-standing battle, but Xiso was explaining something else, leaving him confused.

"This low-hanging fruit could be in the Vero Realm or the Ghost Realm, which is something we need to consider," Xiso continued speaking to himself, not caring about Igor's feelings. He was lost in his own thoughts; these issues busied his mind, even if he didn't outwardly appear busy.

"Senior, I..." Igor attempted to interrupt Xiso but couldn't find the words. He felt completely out of sync with Xiso, making it hard to interject.

So he just stammered, contemplating what a long-standing battle meant alone.

Igor also understood that the situation was complex, not something to unravel in a short time, but he had to be prepared for the endless unknown that lay ahead.

In the face of the unknown, no matter how prepared you are, there's no way to cope, as no one can foresee future events.

All of this had already left Igor at his wit's end, unsure of what to do now.

He could only listen, even if he was completely in the dark...

"Alright, we must get ready now!" Xiso said, then turned to walk back, with Igor following behind him.

Xiso had no special privileges. Even though the King and Princess Juliette valued his talents greatly, he still chose to reside in a small side room of the Kangen Family.

When Xiso returned to his quarters, many were already waiting there.

"You're back, Lord Xiso!" A Wizard Apprentice of the Kangen Family was tasked by Bigas with caring for Xiso. Seeing him return, he breathed a sigh of relief, with many important figures present whose identities he dared not conjecture.

This Wizard Apprentice knew that this figure's identity was not simple, as even the head of the Kangen Family was respectful towards him.

Many haven't seen the King before; this Wizard Apprentice was one, and Igor used to be another. However, after seeing Harry Kayne in the council hall, he wouldn't make such a mistake again.

Harry Kayne had been waiting here for a long time but showed no impatience because he knew he needed Xiso's help. Even though he had arranged things in the council hall, he still felt the need to hear Xiso's thoughts personally.

"Hmm, I'm back!" Xiso coldly replied to the Wizard Apprentice, the lengthy delay making Igor feel a bit embarrassed. Igor originally intended to kneel and salute the King, but Xiso stopped him.

Xiso's cold demeanor indeed frightened Igor. After all, he was facing the King. Why be so cold and unfeeling!

"Xiso, you..." Will Kangen intended to scold Xiso, but Harry Kayne stopped him.

At this point, the Wizard Apprentice realized the man beside him was the King. Shocked, he trembled and fell to his knees!

"No need to kneel!" Harry Kayne helped the Wizard Apprentice up and approached Xiso. "You're still as arrogant as before, Xiso Glass."

"It's not that I'm arrogant; it's that your actions chill people's hearts. You may have forgotten the Glory Seven Knights, but we won't forget what becomes of those who bleed for a sham Empire."

"Xiso! Don't bring up old scores. Do you know what time this is? Yet you bring up these old grievances!" Secretary Benjamin loudly reprimanded. The King had waited here so long without proper treatment; it was outrageous.

"I don't care, old grievances or new. If a mistake is committed and yet obstinately persisted, how is that different from Kuyi Tulan!" Xiso's emotions surged. He didn't care if he was speaking before the King; he wanted to release all his feelings!

Igor was completely baffled by the scene. Already troubled by matters at the Tomb, arriving here to find such a mess was overwhelming, chaotic.

Igor thought he had shed his previous state of confusion, but now it seemed not so; though confusion was gone, chaos like wild grass grew rampant!

What should I do, Igor thought. Am I just to stand here and watch them argue? This is very bad!

The scene before him was chaotic, leaving Igor scratching his head, as these chaotic phenomena made his thoughts even more scattered!
