"Those words of yours..." Kadi suddenly stood up from the grass, pretending to be angry.

"Heh, getting mad, I must've hit the mark, huh?" Milo didn't even look up, continuing to munch on his wild fruit.

Seeing Milo so calm actually quieted Kadi down. He slowly sat down and then stared blankly while biting into his wild fruit.

"Actually, you don't need to be so anxious. When it's time for you to leave, you'll be able to leave. No need to plot and plan..."

"I'm not plotting or planning at all." Kadi retorted, annoyed, "If I were really scheming, would you still be sitting here eating wild fruit?"

"Haha..." Milo chuckled, noncommittally.

"Don't laugh, I know I can't use energy right now, but with how familiar I am with this island, you think your ants can really find me?"

"Hehe, can't say for sure." Milo had great confidence in his ants, as he was quite an authority in the field of Exchange Beasts.

"Alright, you really want me to give an example, huh?" Kadi seemed to be motivated by that challenge.

"Let's hear it, I'm skeptical." Milo replied indifferently.

"You won't cry until you see the coffin, huh? Since you want me to say it, I'll say it. You say the things you eat are delicious, right?" Kadi asked, tilting his head.

"They are, quite tasty." Milo didn't hesitate to give high praise.

"If I tampered with these things, could you taste it? Obviously, you couldn't tell." Kadi answered his own question confidently.

"This..." Milo was truly convinced, finding it extraordinary. If Kadi really wanted to mess around with the food, wouldn't he not even know how he died?

Who can resist such enticing aroma when they are hungry!

If Kadi manipulated the food this way, Milo was truly helpless.

This made Milo subconsciously calm down, Kadi's words made Milo hesitant to bite into the wild fruit in his hand.

"Once you pass out, I can just paddle away on your canoe, right?" Kadi stared at Milo like he was looking at a small animal.

"Ahem, doing that, that's very dangerous, you know..." Milo had no way to refute, so he had to approach from another angle.

"Haha, see, now you understand my prowess." Kadi laughed playfully.

Milo was drenched in sweat; he suddenly realized Kadi was genuinely cunning. Though currently lacking Spirit Power, he still managed to devise ways to deal with Milo, admittedly he had been a bit too careless.

"Haha, look at how nervous you are!" Kadi laughed while clutching his stomach; it had been a long time since he felt this happy, occasionally teasing someone was indeed fun.

Kadi was once a troublemaker, and now it seems this guy hasn't changed one bit, just in a short while he managed to put Milo into a cold sweat.

Milo immediately began checking his body, trying to see if anything unusual was happening. If he lost Kadi, it wouldn't simply be a matter of failing the chief's trust.

"Look at you, seriously, sigh!" Kadi sighed, clearly disappointed with Milo's behavior.

The actions of Milo indicated to Kadi that this guy wasn't on their side for the time being.

This showed Milo was still deeply trusting of Kuyi Tulan. Although there wasn't any great hatred between Kadi and Milo, Milo was always standing by Kuyi Tulan, indicating that for now they were still enemies.

Even though their stances differed, Kadi still saw Milo as a decent guy. No matter what, he wouldn't do anything outrageous to Milo.

All he had said was hypothetical, just to let Milo know that he wasn't merely scheming to get out. Although he still desired to leave internally, reality told him such reckless actions wouldn't work, he needed to think of other strategies.

Milo was still nervously inspecting his body, which was a completely natural phenomenon; he couldn't afford to be careless...

Thinking back, he truly had been too careless.

And this matter brought up by Kadi at this very moment was indeed ruthless!

"Hey, hey, hey, don't be like that, I wouldn't do anything to you, don't look at me with that gaze!" Kadi said, despite being annoyed by Milo's look, he could tell from Milo's reaction that he had trusted him quite a bit before.

Actually, Kadi trusted Milo as well; if it were someone else here, who knows how much suffering they would endure!

Upon hearing Kadi's words, Milo stopped his actions, and felt his heart was narrow-minded and overly cautious.

Kadi was eating the same food and sitting right under his nose; had he had any foul intentions, he would've acted long before, why wait until today!

Of course, if Kadi waited until today to act, that would reveal a truly dark heart.

"Actually, we have been together for quite a while now, several days, right? The previous unpleasantness was all because of that Kuyi Tulan guy. Without him, we could probably be friends." Kadi stood up, patting the dust off his body.

"Well, then why didn't you take that approach!" Milo deliberately avoided the topic of Kuyi Tulan, for he utterly disliked discussing it.

"Which approach?" Kadi really got sidetracked by Milo's question, immediately pulling back from the topic of Kuyi Tulan.

"The example you just gave." Clearly, Milo was still upset about the example Kadi had given.

"Oh, that, haha, if I really did that and took your canoe, how would you get back? Can you fly?" Kadi said lightly.

Upon hearing this, Milo was rendered speechless; he hadn't expected Kadi was considering for him completely, which contrasted sharply with his previous doubts about Kadi, causing him to feel quite embarrassed.

"This island inherently has many strange places; even you, an alchemist, might not be able to handle them!" Kadi remarked again, completely viewing Milo as a friend, even though he knew he couldn't make friends with Kuyi Tulan's people for the time being.

"If you escape, why involve me?" Milo asked, genuinely perplexed.

"Hehe, one can't be too selfish, that's what Grand Master Guzan taught me. Though simple, it's hard to grasp." Kadi remained carefree, completely unaware of the indescribable shock on Milo's face...
