One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1361 - 1358: Found (Part 2)
"You're right, we can't keep dawdling like this, we must pick up the pace." Igor felt he must quicken his steps after Kadi's reminder.
"We have to carefully research these fragments." Kadi proposed.
"I feel the same, perhaps through these fragments we can trace Xiso's whereabouts."
After speaking, Igor and Kadi moved into action, approaching the place where the fragments were stored once more. Kadi suppressed the flames on his body. Although these flames were persistently fearful of the fragments, the closer he got, the more the flames instinctively flared up. After all, for a combustible, flames are always a great temptation.
Igor examined the location where the fragments were stored, wanting to see if there were any energy fluctuations around and if any traps might appear.
After checking things out, they didn't discover any energy fluctuations, it seemed there wasn't anything here at all.
Could it be that these combustibles only have their inherent energy, without any other protective measures? Igor was quite perplexed and asked Kadi if he had found anything.
"I haven't found anything, just think it's a bit odd." Kadi scratched his head. Regarding this aspect, he was still quite inexperienced and felt weaker compared to Igor.
"What do you find odd?" Igor asked, clearly valuing Kadi's opinion.
"Don't you feel the whole place here is strange? When we entered, there was some sort of formation protecting the outside, and it was very strange. But once inside, did you find anything particularly difficult to deal with? Besides these fragments, I haven't noticed anything special."
Igor was reminded by Kadi's words. Indeed, since entering the experiment field, they hadn't encountered any difficulties and had moved along unimpeded.
Moreover, upon discovering these fragments, they hadn't received any warnings, let alone troubles.
"It does feel a bit unusual, and we dawdled around so long without any attacks, it's truly out of the ordinary." Igor said, summarizing his thoughts after reflecting on Kadi's words.
The feeling now was like being in a silent room, an environment so quiet it felt terrifyingly silent.
Having nothing happen was harder to accept than if something did occur. It's merely an understanding of the unknown; although generally, everything in this experiment field was unknown, they were prepared for that. However, if something unusual happened, it might actually make Igor and the others feel a bit more normal; having nothing happen, on the other hand, made them feel eerie. Because psychologically, they were prepared for something to happen, not for nothing at all. The sense that nothing was happening gave them a feeling of unfamiliarity, and their perception of the unknown grew stronger.
The sense of the unknown was the factor influencing their actions, and the feeling given by the experiment field now was one of complete uncertainty.
"Maybe we need to think about the problem from a different angle, just like outside!" Kadi suggested to Igor again.
Igor raised his head, feeling stuck in a quagmire, completely at a loss as to what to do. Kadi seemed to be the one pulling him out of the mire.
Igor recalled the situation outside; initially, they were helplessly dealing with that formation, as they couldn't discern anything through energy fluctuations. Eventually, they solved it on the level of spirit perception.
So Kadi's reminder pulled Igor out of the quagmire; he had been lingering at the energy level, having long forgotten that solutions could also exist on the spiritual level.
Although spirit power is a derivative of energy waves, essentially energy waves, in their world, this understanding had been running for a long time, and had become one of their characteristics.
It's a skill of theirs that shouldn't be discarded so easily.
Igor sighed, then expanded his spirit power. Though the essence of this spirit power was triggered by energy fluctuations, it still spread from his body, providing feedback in the original manner.
Igor's spirit power flew towards the fragments, searching for information on them.
When the spirit power touched those fragments, Igor was startled, his eyes widened, as if he had discovered something from that pile!
"What's the matter?" Seeing Igor's expression, Kadi was also surprised, wanting to know what had happened to shock Igor so much.
"I felt Xiso senior's spirit energy signature!" Igor said, his voice trembling.
"Could it be that these fragments are really Xiso..." Kadi was utterly shocked by Igor's statement.
"There's a significant possibility, I must continue exploring." Igor became cautious, realizing that through the spiritual level, he had genuinely discovered something extraordinary.
"Kadi, I can feel Xiso senior's spirit energy pulsating; however, this pulsation is very weak!" Igor was somewhat agitated; through the fragment clues, he had indeed sought out Xiso's spirit energy signature.
"So, Xiso is still here!"
"Definitely here, let's continue, you can utilize the Ant Connection Spell to enter my vision!" Igor said, while also offering Kadi a good way to participate.
Without hesitation, Kadi immediately used the spell he was familiar with to connect with Igor, a natural action since Kadi's special nature allowed him to use the spell skillfully.
After entering Igor's spirit vision, Kadi gradually found Xiso's spirit energy signature. Though Igor used spirit sensing, Kadi perceived it visually.
The experiment field was a shadowy environment, and only then did Igor and Kadi realize that the shadowy environment was spirit power suppression.
Here, the Alchemy Workshop operated a spell to exchange for a shadowy environment, whose primary role was to block sunlight.
Following the fragment clues, Igor and Kadi gradually discovered a path. This path had traces of the fragments moving along it, as though the fragments automatically congregated here from somewhere.
Gradually, the fragments led them to a more secluded corner—a wall. Yet, on this wall, there was a strong spiritual flow, and following the flow, Igor could feel the fragments' presence...
"I think we've found it, Kadi!" Igor said, his voice filled with determination.
Kadi remained silent, as he too felt a familiar presence behind the wall.
