"I’ll do it myself," Chen Mo said, forcing himself to sit up and reaching out his hand.

He was weak, but not so weak that he couldn’t even feed himself.

It was more that he didn’t feel like moving; any movement just made his whole body ache.

Just as Chen Mo reached out, Su Yuqing put the spoon back in the bowl and firmly held him down.

"Don’t move. Have you forgotten about the work contract I signed?" Su Yuqing said, looking Chen Mo straight in the eye with a serious expression.

Chen Mo, for his part, hadn’t really taken that nanny contract seriously.

"Since I signed a nanny contract, my job is to take care of my employer. Now that my employer is sick, isn’t this the perfect time for me to do my duty? Just leave it to me. If there’s anything you’re not happy with, just tell me, and I promise to provide five-star service," Su Yuqing said to Chen Mo with a playful smile.

It wasn’t that she was happy he was sick, but she hoped that seeing her smile would lift his spirits.

Hearing what Su Yuqing said, Chen Mo stopped struggling.

"I guess I’ll be an invalid for a day then," Chen Mo said with a wry smile.

"Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of you. Come on, eat up," Su Yuqing said. Her voice, while usually sweet, sounded a little different now.

It was more coaxing, like she was talking to a child.

But to the sick and weak Chen Mo, her voice was incredibly reassuring.

As Su Yuqing brought the spoon to his lips again, Chen Mo, a bit embarrassed, opened his mouth and took the bite.

"I feel like a baby right now," he said, his face flushing.

It was hard to tell if the redness was from the fever or from embarrassment.

Although Chen Mo had lost his sense of smell, his eyes, nose, and throat were all uncomfortable, and he had no appetite. He couldn’t even taste anything he ate.

But the food Su Yuqing fed him by hand tasted exceptionally sweet.

Bite after bite, he ate with surprising gusto.

He didn’t have the appetite of a sick person at all.

After Chen Mo finished all the food she had brought, Su Yuqing handed him half a glass of milk. Once he drank it, she gently wiped his mouth with a tissue before getting up to clear the dishes.

"You just ate, so you shouldn’t lie right back down. Just lean back like this and rest for a bit.

I’ll come back to keep you company after I’ve cleaned up the dishes."

Su Yuqing said with a gentle smile as she picked up the tray.

Chen Mo wanted to tell her not to come back in, to avoid getting infected, but the words caught in his throat.

The feeling of being cared for was wonderful, and Chen Mo couldn’t bring himself to reject that wonderful feeling he was beginning to anticipate.

So he didn’t say anything more.

Watching Su Yuqing’s retreating back as she hurried away with the tray, Chen Mo leaned against the soft pillows, let out a soft, white puff of breath, and sat on the bed in a daze.

Fine dust motes danced in the morning light filtering through the gap in the curtains. The burning pain in his throat seared deep inside his eardrums with every swallow.

After the warm breakfast and being bundled up in his blanket, fine beads of sweat had already formed on Chen Mo’s forehead.

He tried to lift his arm to wipe the sweat away, only to find that even this simple action made his temples throb violently.

’I can’t even remember the last time I was this sick. I’ve completely forgotten when I last had a cold.’ Chen Mo thought with a pained, wry smile. He grabbed a tissue from nearby, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and, lacking the strength to toss it into the trash can by the desk, simply dropped it on the nightstand.

Just completing that simple action made his eyelids feel heavy.

He decided to just close his eyes and rest.

With his eyes closed, his hearing seemed to sharpen. The chirping of birds outside, the sounds of cars and people, and the crisp clinking of porcelain bowls from the kitchen all continuously flowed into his ears.

Listening to these sounds he usually ignored, he now felt that their very existence was what made him feel truly alive.

As Chen Mo’s mind began to wander, the sounds from the kitchen gradually faded.

After cleaning the dishes, Su Yuqing tiptoed back to Chen Mo’s side.

She found him leaning against the headboard with his eyes lightly closed, looking as if he was about to fall asleep.

But he had thrown off the blanket.

"Why did you take the blanket off?" she asked in a small voice.

"It’s too hot," Chen Mo said, slowly opening his eyes to look at Su Yuqing, breathing heavily.

Just then, Su Yuqing noticed that Chen Mo was sweating.

"This won’t do. If you’re sweating, you need to be wrapped up tight to sweat it out. If you leave the blanket off, you’ll catch a worse chill," Su Yuqing gently coaxed, faced with this rather disobedient big baby.

Chen Mo stubbornly shook his head. "I hate feeling all sticky with sweat. I’m not covering up. It’s fine. As long as the door is closed and there’s no draft, the cold won’t get worse."

Chen Mo had a point, but Su Yuqing was still worried.

"Well, in that case, how about I get some warm water and wipe the sweat off you?"

Su Yuqing suggested a compromise.

Chen Mo thought about it and figured that would work. However, he was thinking of wiping himself down, while Su Yuqing had something entirely different in mind.

Soon, Su Yuqing left the room to heat up some water.

While Chen Mo was drifting in and out of consciousness again, Su Yuqing returned with a basin of warm water.

A towel was soaking in the water.

"Come on, let’s unbutton your shirt," Su Yuqing said, reaching for the buttons on the chest of Chen Mo’s pajamas.

The groggy Chen Mo finally snapped back to his senses and looked at Su Yuqing in surprise.

"No, it’s fine. I can do it myself. You should go rest... COUGH, COUGH..." Before Chen Mo could finish, a sudden tickle in his throat made him turn to the side and cough violently.

He subconsciously covered his mouth, the searing heat of his breath shockingly hot against his palm.

"Look at you! You’re in this state, how could you possibly do it yourself? Let me. Remember, I’m the nanny today!" Su Yuqing emphasized her duty once more.

Chen Mo wanted to argue, but the burning pain in his throat left him too weak to speak.

He could only let Su Yuqing reach out and unbutton his pajama shirt.

Although Su Yuqing’s words were frank and open, as she actually undid the buttons on Chen Mo’s chest one by one, watching his firm chest and abdominal muscles gradually reveal themselves before her eyes, her face still began to turn red with shyness.

Just as men are interested in a woman’s fine figure, women are the same.

Looking at Chen Mo’s body—a physique that would make even a rich sugar mama drool—Su Yuqing couldn’t help but gulp, her Adam’s apple bobbing. She fought the urge to look away, but it was as if she couldn’t turn off her auto-aim; her gaze kept locking onto Chen Mo’s perfect form.

She took a few deep breaths, then wrung out the towel and, with a trembling hand, reached toward that absolutely drool-worthy physique.
