Chapter 1526: If Anyone Should Take This Gamble, It Should Be Me

  • Next Chapter

In the end, Bai Zhi’er and Feng Fuce watched as Fu Niu’s figure slowly disappeared at the end of the heavy rain.

Even though it was forgiven, it was unwilling to leave Caiyun Mountain.

Bai Zhi’er thought it probably wanted to stay near the place where the Demon Bull had passed away.

For a moment, she felt a pang of sadness.

Even the Divine Beast knows that for the sake of emotions, one must resolutely abandon identity without hesitation.

Yet she lacked the courage to let Feng Fuce gamble on a one-in-ten-thousand possibility.

She could not, and dared not.

It started snowing in Heaven again.

Feng Fuce held her hand: "We must avoid this snow, otherwise it will freeze the Primordial Spirit."

So, they returned to the cave they had just been in.

Feng Fuce somehow conjured up some firewood and, after lighting it, the cave glowed warmly with blazing flames.

Bai Zhi’er sat by the fire.

She said, "Let’s not meet anymore in the future."

Feng Fuce’s cold eyes were icy: "Why? Are you going to talk about the differences between Immortals and Demons again? I’ve said before, I have a way to solve it."

Bai Zhi’er shook her head firmly: "My mind is made up, just consider me selfish."

"You’re not this kind of person." Feng Fuce was very decisive: "I’ve known you since you were three, Bai Zhi’er, what exactly are you worried about?!"

His emotions were impulsive, and he directly walked up to her.

Feng Fuce wanted to see her gaze, but Bai Zhi’er turned her head away, unwilling to meet his eyes, afraid he might see through her.

However, Feng Fuce didn’t give her a chance to avoid it.

He grasped her chin tightly and repeatedly questioned: "Tell me, why are you so heartless?"

"Bai Zhi’er, do you know how long I thought about the words you said last time before I convinced myself?"

Bai Zhi’er’s eyes glistened with tears: "It’s better if you dislike me; don’t convince yourself."

Feng Fuce tightened his grip on her shoulders.

"I can’t!" he rasped in a hoarse shout: "I convinced myself, even if everything you created before was an illusion, a trap for me, I am willing to accept it."

"I hate myself even more; if you were deceiving me, it means you’ve trampled my true feelings, yet even if you think my true heart is worthless, I still want to offer it to you."

"Why does my heart, hurt like it’s going to turn to ashes from your words, still choose to burn for you after seeing you?"

"These past few days, I’ve been desperately recalling, trying to prove where I might have gone wrong, made you unhappy, and I don’t want to hear you say you really want to break away from me."

As Feng Fuce spoke, he laughed while sobbing, his eyes red, staring at Bai Zhi’er as if fearing she might suddenly disappear.

"Bai Zhi’er, is my love garbage to you? You take it when you want it and discard it so thoroughly when you don’t?"

Bai Zhi’er’s tears broke free; she bowed her head: "It’s not like you say..."

Feng Fuce wiped her tears, his voice husky, repeatedly asking: "Then tell me, what exactly are you worried about? I can give you anything you want."

"But don’t do this, don’t let me blindly distance myself from you; this way, I can’t endure it."

Bai Zhi’er’s long lashes quivered intensely, tears falling like rain.

She was silent for a long time.

Suddenly, Bai Zhi’er raised her head.

"If there’s a gamble to be made, shouldn’t it be me who should gamble?"

Feng Fuce furrowed his brow in confusion: "Gamble?"

Bai Zhi’er gave him no time to react, she reached out to hold his face, her delicate body leaned forward, and she kissed him proactively.
