A full day quickly passed inside the Island Pocket Dimension. Fortunately, everyone there except Xiong Da possessed spatial equipment. They sat together, ate, and watched the golden door. Everyone was curious about what Yu Xian had encountered beyond it, but also worried that he was in danger.

Eating roasted meat, Xiong Da gloomily asked, "Say, if Boss never comes back, are we going to starve to death here?"

Gong Qian immediately pinched a fold of flesh on his thigh and twisted it. As Xiong Da grimaced in pain, she said, "Don't say things like that. Salted Fish will definitely return safely."

"I never said Boss was in danger. But what if there's another world behind that door, and it takes him several hundred, or even several thousand years to return?"

Bluebird said, "This island actually has plenty of food. There may not be any meat, but many of the plants bear edible fruit. We probably won't starve. At worst, we'll simply never get to eat meat again..."

The look Bluebird gave Xiong Da became slightly strange. Isn't there a big, fat bear right here?

Xiong Da's fat jiggled as he instinctively shrank backward. "Hey, why are you looking at me? Don't look at me like that. You're scaring me."

Zhang Shou caught on as well. Looking at Xiong Da, he laughed. "Speaking of meat, isn't the biggest piece of meat right here?"

Xiong Da immediately clapped his hands together in displeasure. "Hey, hey! I'm one-tenth human!"

While they joked and fooled around, a crimson aura suddenly seeped out of the golden door. All four turned toward it at once.

Thud!

Thud! Thud!

Heavy footsteps echoed from beyond the door. Gong Qian said, "Yu Xian?"

No one answered. Instead, the footsteps drew even closer.

Zhang Shou gritted his teeth. "It might be an enemy. Get ready. I'll buff everyone first."

He took out the staff Yu Xian had given him and planted a Healing Seed in each of them. Then he pulled Bluebird backward. Bluebird was the weakest among them. If danger arose, she was the most likely to be killed in a single blow.

Gong Qian judged from the sound of the footsteps. "It's here!"

The next moment, a roughly-1.8-meter-tall crimson figure slowly emerged from the golden door. It was completely shrouded in blood-red energy, and its aura alone left all four of them struggling to breathe.

Gong Qian stared at the crimson figure. "Yu Xian?"

The moment she spoke, she drew the figure's attention. It immediately turned toward her, and the red glow radiating from its eyes suddenly intensified.

The crimson figure instantly appeared before Gong Qian, one hand already clamped around her throat. "Blood!"

It lifted her and was about to drink her blood when Xiong Da reacted just in time. Wreathed in flames, he charged into the figure. To his horror, the crimson figure seemed to possess an unimaginably hard body. Several of Xiong Da's bones shattered on impact, and he spat a mouthful of blood across the figure's face.

"Bloooooood!"

Stimulated by Xiong Da's blood, the crimson figure immediately switched targets. With a casual toss, it sent Gong Qian hurtling into the distance until she vanished beyond the horizon. It then reached for Xiong Da, opening its mouth to drink the bear's blood.

However, a tentacle materialized beside Xiong Da and lashed out at the crimson figure. "Healing Touch!"

Zhang Shou had cast his ability. Everything had happened so quickly that it was only now that he had time to cast it.

Frowning, the figure casually swept a hand through the air, instantly dispersing the tentacle. Zhang Shou's attack had not harmed the crimson figure at all. It was only because their attributes opposed each other that his attack felt like a mosquito or fly to the crimson figure. The mere contact was enough to make the figure recoil in disgust, causing that momentary pause.

Xiong Da did not waste the opening Zhang Shou had created. "Black Wind!"

Gritting his teeth against the excruciating pain, he unleashed the strongest Black Wind he could muster at the crimson figure. But it was still useless. The Black Wind could not penetrate its defenses at all. With a single sweep of its hand, the crimson figure shattered it outright.

At the same time, the crimson figure swung its hand so quickly that Xiong Da's arm was severed before he could even lower it after unleashing the Black Wind. The crimson figure moved forward to drink Xiong Da's blood, but waves of golden light suddenly erupted.

Eternal Purity appeared before the crimson figure amid the golden radiance. She reached out and gently tapped its forehead. Consumed by madness and the urge to drink blood, the crimson figure gradually calmed down, and clarity slowly returned to its eyes.

The previous day, Yu Xian had entered the golden door, but Eternal Purity had been unable to follow him inside. To prevent Eternal Bliss from detecting her presence, she had temporarily left this world so that it would not draw Eternal Bliss's attention. Moments earlier, she had sensed Yu Xian's return and re-entered the world, arriving just in time to stop his rampage.

Eternal Purity smiled at the figure. "Are you awake now?"

The crimson figure gradually withdrew the surrounding blood-red energy and soon returned to Yu Xian's normal appearance. He nodded. "Mm, I'm awake. Thank you, Auntie."

Zhang Shou stared at Yu Xian as the crimson blood energy faded away and cried out in shock. "Salted Fish!"

Yu Xian now looked vastly different from before he entered the golden door. Not only had his hair turned silver and his pupils red, but more importantly, he had become even more handsome, and his physique had improved considerably.

Even Zhang Shou felt tempted to enter the golden door and take a look. Is there a cosmetic surgery clinic behind it?

Yu Xian apologized to Xiong Da. "Sorry. I didn't realize vampires could experience a bloodline surge too."

Then he turned to Zhang Shou. "Zhang Shou, come heal Xiong Da."

"A bloodline surge? Isn't that something that happens only during a bloodline awakening?" Xiong Da asked as he sat up. He did not seem particularly concerned about losing an arm and was instead far more curious about what had happened to Yu Xian.

Under normal circumstances, a bloodline surge occurred only when an ordinary person awakened a bloodline similar to that of a werewolf. This would trigger a twenty-four-hour atavistic phase. Simply put, the person's bestial instincts would take over, reducing them to a savage beast that attacked and destroyed everything in sight.

There had never been such a thing as a bloodline surge among vampires. Vampires were either born as vampires, like Nora, or transformed into one through the First Bite or by having vampire blood injected into them. Bloodline awakening simply did not apply to them. After all, the vampire bloodline itself was genetically dominant.

Yu Xian gave Xiong Da an apologetic smile as he felt the immense power surging inside him. He then noticed that Gong Qian was nowhere to be seen. "It's a little complicated. Where's Gong Qian?"

Gong Qian is no coward. Surely, she was not frightened into running away.

"You threw her away," Zhang Shou replied.

Yu Xian looked embarrassed. Apparently, he had been rather violent during his bloodline surge. However, he was also curious about just how strong he had become. Gong Qian possessed tremendous strength, yet he had tossed her away with ease. Just how strong am I right now?

He immediately raised a hand and cast Appraisal on himself. And when he saw his attributes, he was stunned.
