Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Chapter 906: The Trading Center Feels Like A Country Fair

In truth, cultivators as courteous as Lin Moyu were a rarity.

A cultivator's courtesy was usually reserved for fellow cultivators.

Toward ordinary people, to anyone below the Transcendent God realm, they almost always carried an air of superiority.

But Lin Moyu was different. He had none of that arrogance.

After all, even his four beloved wives were only a little over level 70.

Rather than accepting another mission, Lin Moyu left the Mission Center and headed for the Trading Center.

The two facilities were less than ten kilometers apart, connected by a broad road stretching from one to the other.

For a cultivator, crossing ten kilometers took no more than an instant.

After verifying his identity, Lin Moyu entered the Trading Center.

The moment he stepped inside, the world before him expanded dramatically.

A spatial formation had been used here as well, enlarging the interior to several thousand times its apparent size.

Then a deafening wave of noise crashed over him.

"Come take a look! Top-grade Ten-Thousand-Year Mystic Iron! Premium Transcendent God-grade material! Only 1 point for every 10 catties!"

"Soul Spirit Crystals! Perfect for forging soul armor! Only 50 points per piece!"

"Treasure map for sale! Explore an uncharted region…"

The Trading Center was far more crowded than the Mission Center, and the atmosphere was incredibly lively, nothing like the orderly marketplace Lin Moyu had imagined.

As he looked around, a single phrase came to mind: a country fair.

The place resembled a bustling country fair.

People had set up stalls everywhere, loudly advertising their wares in hopes of attracting customers.

The merchandise was dazzlingly diverse.

Transactions could be completed with points or through barter.

Some goods carried fixed prices, while others were open to negotiation.

It almost felt as though every cultivator on Planet 98-1 had gathered here.

Lin Moyu wandered through the rows of stalls, examining the items on display.

Most were raw materials, though there were plenty of unfamiliar objects as well.

That didn't concern him. If he wanted to identify something, he could simply cast Detection.

Although the place looked chaotic, there was a clear order beneath the surface.

The outermost area was reserved for Transcendent God cultivators.

Beyond that was the section for True Gods.

Deeper still lay the official Trading Center.

As he browsed the stalls, Lin Moyu realized that most of the goods were things he had never encountered before.

Compared to the small world, the greater world possessed resources countless times richer.

The difference between the two was fundamental.

At several stalls, he noticed Starfire Metal.

Starfire Metal wasn't especially rare and could be mined throughout many star systems.

The vendors here sold it in 9-catty portions for 1 point each, and there was no shortage of buyers.

By comparison, selling Starfire Metal directly to the official Trading Center required a full 10 catty to earn the same 1 point.

If Lin Moyu wanted to maximize his profits, he could always set up a stall and sell it here.

But his time was far too valuable to waste haggling over such small gains.

After making a quick circuit of the marketplace, he headed toward the official Trading Center.

Located in the deepest part of the complex, the official Trading Center was enclosed within a simple soundproofing formation.

The instant Lin Moyu stepped through it, the clamor vanished, replaced by complete silence.

It was as though he had entered an entirely different world.

Its layout closely resembled that of the Mission Center, with rows of independent pillar-shaped trading terminals.

Each terminal was connected directly to the Human Emperor Network, allowing users to browse prices and conduct transactions.

After confirming a sale, sellers simply deposited their goods into the terminal.

Likewise, purchased items were delivered directly through the same platform via teleportation.

The terminals combined both storage and teleportation functions, capable of handling virtually all routine transactions.

For especially valuable items or high-volume trades, dedicated staff members provided personalized assistance.

Lin Moyu noticed numerous attendants moving throughout the Trading Center.

They had no fixed stations, instead responding wherever their services were needed.

Many cultivators stood before their respective terminals, quietly browsing the Human Emperor Network in search of the items they needed.

From the outside, there was no way to tell whether someone was buying or selling.

Every transaction remained completely confidential.

Lin Moyu selected an unoccupied trading terminal and extended his consciousness into it.

The scene before him shifted instantly.

Once again, he found himself standing amid a vast sea of stars.

He knew his consciousness had connected to the Human Emperor Network.

Everything around him was merely a virtual projection, yet it felt so lifelike that it was almost indistinguishable from reality.

Countless items floated throughout the starry expanse—materials, treasures, pills, cultivation techniques, and every kind of rare and miraculous object imaginable.

Anything one could conceive of, and plenty beyond imagination, could be found here.

Lin Moyu was immediately dazzled.

The items were scattered randomly, with no discernible order.

Directly ahead floated an exquisite sword, its body shimmering with mesmerizing starlight.

A single glance was enough to tell that it was an extraordinary weapon.

However, when he tried to inspect it, a notification appeared: insufficient authority.

If his authority wasn't high enough, why display it at all? Just to tempt people?

He examined several more treasures that were obviously exceptional, only to receive the same response every time: insufficient authority.

Lin Moyu issued a command, "Display only the items I'm authorized to purchase.”

Whoosh!

In an instant, 99.99% of the items vanished.

The once-crowded starry sky became nearly empty.

Lin Moyu was left speechless.

So many incredible treasures, yet every one of them had been nothing more than bait.

Still, he had to admit it was an effective strategy.

By dangling unattainable treasures before people's eyes, the Human Emperor Network gave them another reason to strive for greater strength.

If one wanted the best treasures, they had to raise their authority and become stronger.

Lin Moyu issued another command, "Categorize the remaining items."

The remaining listings were instantly sorted into neat sections: materials, equipment, pills, information, special items, and several others.

By focusing on a category, he could browse every item currently available for his authority level.

Within the materials section, Lin Moyu quickly found Starfire Metal.

Detailed information appeared before him, including several of its known applications.

Of the five uses Jiang Jiyuan had mentioned, the database listed only the first four.

The fifth—using it to temper the soul—was absent.

It was likely a secret discovery unique to the Jiang Family.

The Trading Center sold Starfire Metal at a relatively steep price: 8 catty for 1 point.

Its buyback rate, however, was 10 catty for 1 point.

That meant the center earned a margin of 2 catty on every transaction.

Lin Moyu quickly understood the reasoning.

Anyone who only needed a small quantity would simply purchase it from the street stalls instead.

After all, 1 point could buy 9 catty, making it more economical than purchasing directly from the Trading Center.
