Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Chapter 896: No Need, I’ve Already Cleared It

  • Next Chapter

Lin Moyu felt that the Human Emperor Network existed for one primary purpose: to cultivate the strongest powerhouses for the human race.

Passing the Meteor Secret Realm only reinforced that belief.

The secret realm tested far more than strength. It challenged one's judgment, wisdom, control, and combat ability all at once.

Lacking any one of those qualities made clearing it practically impossible.

Having reached this conclusion, Lin Moyu left the secret realm and appeared outside.

The moment he emerged, he sensed countless eyes fixed on him.

The Human Emperor Network was virtually indistinguishable from reality. Every sensation was perfectly replicated, making the weight of everyone's gaze feel especially tangible.

Being the center of attention made him uncomfortable, and he was about to leave when someone beat him to it.

"Brother Lin!" A figure stood in front of him and greeted him warmly.

Lin Moyu hadn't concealed his name, so anyone present could identify him.

The man acted as though they were old acquaintances, his face filled with an amiable smile, "Brother Lin, please don't misunderstand. We mean no harm."

He hadn't hidden his own identity either.

Lin Moyu could see his basic information: Jin Feng, 5th tier Transcendent God.

Lin Moyu politely replied, "Senior Jin, is there something I can help you with?"

Jin Feng smiled broadly, "Brother Lin, we're simply curious. How did a 1st tier Transcendent God obtain level 2 authority?”

Lin Moyu paused but offered no answer.

He had no intention of casually revealing his potential evaluation.

Realizing he had crossed a line, Jin Feng lightly slapped his own mouth and apologized, "Listen to me running my mouth. That's not really what I meant.”

"What I really wanted to say is that, at your current realm, completing the Meteor Secret Realm alone might be difficult."

"Although the secret realm can be entered repeatedly, everyone only gets ten attempts. Once those ten chances are exhausted, the trial is considered a failure, and the reward is lost forever."

"So, Brother Lin, don't waste your opportunities. We can discuss strategies together and figure out how to clear it.”

Jin Feng spoke with complete sincerity.

Looking around, Lin Moyu saw the same friendly expressions on everyone's faces. He could genuinely feel their goodwill.

The human race of the greater world was remarkably united.

In truth, any race that lacked unity struggled to survive in the greater world.

Over countless years, numerous divided races had paid for their internal conflicts with blood.

Humanity had once suffered the same fate.

Long ago, a devastating internal strife erupted within the human race.

At the time, humanity was considered one of the greater world's powerful races, but the conflict inflicted catastrophic losses, especially among its strongest experts.

The other races immediately seized the opportunity.

The four starfields were nearly destroyed, and enemy forces advanced all the way to God City.

Had the city fallen, humanity's God Path would have been severed, and the human race would have vanished from the greater world altogether.

It was in that darkest hour that Xiao Zhantian rose to prominence and turned the tide.

By his own strength, he crushed the internal strife before leading humanity's armies to repel the invading races.

One by one, he reclaimed the four starfields, performing legendary feats that cemented his title as War God.

From then on, humanity never forgot the lesson written in blood and became extraordinarily united.

Personal grudges were permitted, but large-scale internal conflict was absolutely forbidden.

Those with private disputes could settle them in the arena—whether within the Human Emperor Network or in the real world.

But once the duel ended and both parties left the arena, the matter was considered closed. Further retaliation was strictly prohibited.

Humanity's leaders understood one truth better than anyone: without unity, there would be no future.

Lin Moyu appreciated that mindset.

It reminded him of the small world he hailed from.

Seeing that Lin Moyu remained silent, Jin Feng maintained his friendly smile, "Brother Lin, there's no need to be cautious. We truly mean you no harm."

"You should know that we humans are remarkably united."

"It wouldn't hurt for everyone to discuss it together."

Following Jin Feng's lead, others quickly chimed in.

"Exactly. Come discuss it with us."

"This Meteor Secret Realm is indeed quite troublesome."

"Two heads are better than one. With so many of us, we're bound to figure something out."

A faint smile appeared on Lin Moyu's face, "No need. I've already cleared it.”

Jin Feng froze, staring at him in disbelief, "That can't be possible?"

The others were equally skeptical.

How could someone at the 1st tier Transcendent God realm clear it?

Many assumed Lin Moyu was simply boasting, and traces of disdain appeared in their eyes.

In their experience, people who exaggerated their achievements were rarely trustworthy.

A flicker of disappointment crossed Jin Feng's face, "Brother Lin, don't joke around."

Without another word, Lin Moyu opened his palm, revealing a miniature meteor resting above it—the proof awarded upon completing the mission.

The moment everyone saw it, the atmosphere changed.

Jin Feng stood rooted to the spot, his expression one of utter shock, "Brother Lin... you actually passed it?"

Lin Moyu nodded, "Yes. Unfortunately, the rules forbid me from revealing the method."

The tiny meteor wasn't visible only to Jin Feng; everyone present saw it.

The disdain that had filled their eyes moments ago disappeared without a trace.

One after another, people lowered their heads in embarrassment.

Lin Moyu hadn't been bragging.

He had truly cleared the Meteor Secret Realm.

When they looked at his realm again, the shame only deepened.

A 1st tier Transcendent God had succeeded where they had repeatedly failed.

For Transcendent Gods, few things were more humiliating.

Fortunately, Jin Feng was both outgoing and thick-skinned, "Brother Lin, I know you can't reveal the method, but could you at least give us a few pointers?"

"To be honest, I have already failed six times. I don't have many attempts left."

Lin Moyu answered just as sincerely, "Senior Jin, your strength is already sufficient. You simply haven't found the right approach."

"All I can say is this: observe carefully. The method is just as important as strength."

"Discussing it endlessly here won't help. You're better off entering the secret realm and studying it carefully yourselves."

"That's all I can say."

Jin Feng nodded, "I understand."

"Thank you for understanding, Senior Jin. I'll be leaving to submit the mission."

With that, Lin Moyu activated the teleportation formation and disappeared.

Jin Feng continued staring at the entrance of the secret realm, deep in thought, "Lin Moyu... Lin Moyu..."

He repeated the name several times, engraving it firmly into his memory.

A 1st tier Transcendent God who possessed level 2 authority and had even cleared the Meteor Secret Realm...

It was something he had never witnessed before.

The others wore equally complicated expressions.

Some felt ashamed, others were greatly impressed, yet others remained unwilling to accept it.

Quite a few people kept replaying Lin Moyu's final words in their minds: "The method is just as important as strength. Observe carefully."

Gradually, a few seemed to grasp something. Without another word, they flew straight back into the secret realm.

Jin Feng also appeared to have gained some insight and entered once again.

In the blink of an eye, nearly a third of the crowd outside the secret realm had disappeared.

…

After teleporting back to the Mission Center on the Inhabited Star No. 98, Lin Moyu submitted the mission and received 50 points.

He had originally possessed 1,100 points. Completing the mission earned him another fifty, while the round-trip teleportation had cost two.

His remaining balance now stood at 1,148 points—his entire fortune.

Thinking about the 10,000 points required to upgrade his authority to level 3, Lin Moyu realized he had only taken the very first step of a long journey.

He checked the mission list again.

With level 2 authority, his operational range extended to twenty light-years.

Even so, the number of missions available within that area wasn't particularly large.

After browsing for a while, he selected another mission.

[Mission name: search for Starfire Metal]

[Reward: 100 points]

[Target location: Vermilion Bird Uninhabited Star System No. 000128]
